AbstractThe species of Aphidini living on Senecio L. in South America are reviewed. Pehuenchaphisgen. nov. is described; it is an Aphidina genus characterized mainly by the siphunculi on abdominal segment VI when present and by its radicicolous way of life. The type species of the genus Pehuenchaphis agilissimasp. nov. is described and the new combination Pehuenchaphis americana for Sene ciobium americana Mier Durante and Ortego is established. Aphis senecionicoides E.E. Blanchard is redescribed and its neotype is established. Aphis papillosasp. nov. with very large marginal papillae and Aphis malalhuinasp. nov. with short siphunculi are described and differentiated from the previously known Aphis intrusa Ortego and A. senecionicoides. A key for the apterous viviparous females of these seven species and Andinaphis paradoxa Mier Durante et al. is given.

The article contains the description of a new genus, Davidlivingstonia Yakovlev & László, gen. nov. (Type species Zeuzera boisduvalii Herrich-Schäffer, 1854) and three new species: D. staudei Yakovlev & László, spec. nov. (Type locality: Zambia: Samfia, Mukushi, reg. Liubwe), D. prozorovi Yakovlev & László, spec. nov. (Type locality: Congo Belge, Congo River), and D. lenzi Yakovlev & László, spec. nov. Pseudosparna new genus is proposed to include four species: P. luteolineata new species (type species) from Equador, P. amoena new species and P. aragua new species from Venezuela, and P. flavipes (Bates, 1863) new combination, transferred from Lepturtrigona Gilmour, 1957. The four species are illustrated and keyed.

Two new genera and three species of the Pantheinae are described. The genus Flavala gen. n. (type-species Acronycta flavala Moore, 1867) is separated from Anacronicta Warren, 1909. The new combination Flavala flavala (Moore, 1867) comb. n. is introduced. Two new species, Flavala crypta sp. n. and F. secunda sp. n. are described based on the result of barcoding of mitochondrial DNA. The new genus Xizanga gen. n. (type-species Xizanga mysterica sp.n.) is tentatively placed in Pantheinae.

The new genus Yanomamius n. gen. from Brazilian and Venezuelan Amazon is described, with three new species from Brazil: Y. franciscoi n. sp. (type species), Y. raonii n. sp., and Y. neblina n. sp. The enigmatic Venezuelan species described as Holothele waikoshiemi Bertani & Araújo, 2006 and presently included in Guyruita Guadanucci et al. (2007) is transferred to the new genus, making the new combination Y. waikoshiemi (Bertani & Araújo, 2006) n. comb. Yanomamius n. gen. is closely related with the schismatotheline genera Schismatothele Karsch, 1879 and Euthycaelus Simon, 1889 sharing as probable synapomorphies a group of short spines on the retrolateral distal tibia of male palp and the shape of bulb. They differ by the position of the spines in a compact group instead of in rows and by a tapering embolus. Females differ from Schismatothele and Euthycaelus by the spermathecae weakly sclerotized. A series of recent phylogenies based on molecular data suggested a close relationship between schimatothelines and psalmopoeines. The male tibia I of Yanomamius n. gen. species have a series of ridges or a single protuberance behind the tibial apophyses that resemble those of psalmopoeines and strengthen the idea of close relationship of the two subfamilies.

An ongoing review of Neotropical Xyleborini (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Scolytinae) has revealed a new genus, Dinoxyleborus gen. nov. (type species Dinoxyleborus cognatoi sp. nov.), from South America. Two new species are described and one new combination is proposed: Dinoxyleborus cognatoi, sp. nov., D. infernus sp. nov., and D. sexnotatus (Schedl), 1970. A modification of Wood’s 2007 key to Neotropical Xyleborini genera and a key to Dinoxyleborus species are given.

The subgenus Enitharoides Brooks, 1953 was erected to include two species of Enithares from South America with asymmetry in the male genital capsule: Enithares brasiliensis Spinola, 1837 and E. duidaensis Brooks, 1953. Enitharoides was elevated to genus in 1975, but neither it nor its species have been redescribed. Here the genus is redescribed, fixing the identity of the type-species as Enitharoides duidaensis, comb. nov. Members of this genus can be recognized by the triangular labrum, pronotum with anterolateral margins foveate, punctate scutellum, fore and middle legs with three tarsomeres, middle femur with an anteapical pointed protuberance, and an asymmetrical genital capsule. We transfer Enithares brasiliensis to Enitharoides; thus, Enitharoides brasiliensis is a new combination. A redescription of E. brasiliensis is given and three new species of Enitharoides are described from Brazil: E. lucasduquei Barbosa, Ribeiro & Nessimian, sp. nov. from Rio de Janeiro, E. tricomerus Barbosa, Ribeiro & Nessimian, sp. nov. from Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, and E. lanemeloi Barbosa, Ribeiro & Nessimian, sp. nov. from Minas Gerais. A taxonomic key to the males of species of Enitharoides and a key to nymphs of the genera of Notonectidae occurring in Brazil are provided.

The genus Concavetettix Deng, gen. nov. (type species: Concavetettix yunnanensis Deng, sp. nov.) is described from Daweishan, Pingbian County, Yunnan Province, China. The genus Macromotettix Günther, 1939 is reviewed. Three new species of the genus, M. microptera Deng, sp. nov., M. zhengi Deng, sp. nov. and M. brachyptera Deng, sp. nov. are described with detailed illustrations of external morphology. One new name is proposed: Macromotettix napoensis Deng, nom. nov.. Additionally, an updated key to species of the genus Macromotettix is given.

Studies on the Agalliini leafhoppers collected from the Terrestrial Arthropods of Madagascar inventory project of the Cal-ifornia Academy of Sciences, resulted in the discovery of one new genus Agallidwipa gen. nov. (type-species: A. biramosa sp. nov.) with three new species, A. biramosa sp. nov., A. bispinosa sp. nov. and A. webbi sp. nov. and three new species of the genus Igerna Kirkaldy, I. delta sp. nov., I. flavocosta sp. nov. and I. malagasica sp. nov. Two new combinations proposed are Agallidwipa pauliana (Evans) comb. nov. (from genus Agalliana Oman) and Igerna neosa (Webb) comb. nov. (from genus Stonasla White), a species previously recorded from Aldabra Islands. A previous record of Igerna bi-maculicollis (Stål) from Madagascar is shown most likely to be a case of misidentification. All the taxa are described and illustrated. Keys to species of Agalliini from Madagascar are included along with notes on the distinction between Agal-liana and Agallidwipa.

AbstractAngilovelia n.gen. is described with Velia y-alba Paiva, 1918, from Burma as type-species and only included species. It has stridulatory devices similar to those found in species of the Neotropical genus Stridulivelia Hungerford. Three new species of Angilia Stål subgenus Adriennella Poisson are described, A. orientalis n.sp. (Thailand, Hong Kong), A. bispinosa n.sp. (Thailand), and A. trispinosa n.sp. (Malayan Peninsula?). The Palaearctic genus Velia Latreille reaches the border zone between this region and the Oriental region. V. (Plesiovelia) affinis Kolenati ssp. marussii Tamanini, described from Hindukush (Afghanistan, Pakistan), is here recorded from Kashmir (India) and the first species of the genus is described from China, V. (Haldwania) sinensis n.sp. A key is given to the genera and subgenera of Veliinae of the world.
