AC Intrepid, a hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), is adapted to the Canadian prairies. It expressed high grain yield, early maturity, and heavy kernels. It has resistance to prevalent races of leaf rust, stem rust, and common bunt. AC Intrepid is eligible for grades of Canada Western Red Spring wheat. AC Abbey, hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), is adapted to the Canadian prairies. It is significantly shorter than any of the check cultivars and has solid stems. AC Abbey expressed higher grain yield, earlier maturity, and heavier kernels than AC Eatonia, the solidstem check cultivar. It is resistant to the wheat stem sawfly (Cephus cinctus Nort.) and to prevalent races of common bunt and has moderate resistance to leaf rust and stem rust. Lovitt hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is adapted to the Canadian prairies. Lovitt is earlier maturing than AC Barrie with similar grain yield and smaller kernels. Lovitt has resistance to prevalent races of leaf and stem rust and loose smut. Lovitt has very good pre-harvest sprouting resistance similar to RL4137. McKenzie hard red spring wheat is the first doubled haploid wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) cultivar registered in Canada. Evaluation in the Central Bread Wheat Cooperative registration tests from 1994 to 1996 was relative to Neepawa, Katepwa, Roblin and AC M ajestic. McKenzie displayed high grain yield, early maturity, high test weight and high Hagberg falling number. It had resistance to the prevalent races of stem rust, leaf rust, and common bunt, and exhibited intermediate resistance to Fusarium head bligh t. McKenzie is well adapted to all areas of the Canadian prairies and eligible for all grades of Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat. Key words:

AAC Viewfield hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) has a grain yield significantly higher than the check cultivars Katepwa and Lillian and is similar to Carberry. AAC Viewfield matures significantly later than Katewpa and Lillian but is similar to Carberry. AAC Viewfield has an awned spike, a low lodging score (indicative of strong straw), and significantly shorter plant stature than all checks. AAC Viewfield expressed resistance to prevalent races of yellow rust and stem rust, moderate resistance to leaf rust and common bunt, and intermediate resistance to Fusarium head blight. AAC Viewfield has quality attributes within the range of the check cultivars and is eligible for grades of Canada Western Red Spring wheat.

AC Domain hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) exhibited high levels of pre-harvest sprouting tolerance and is adapted to the Canadian prairies. In Manitoba, the grain yield of AC Domain was 3.4 to 7.4% higher than the check cultivars, while in Saskatchewan it was 3.3 to 8% lower. AC Domain had shorter, stronger straw than the check cultivars. AC Domain is eligible for all grades of the Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat class. Minto hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) combines excellent resistance to leaf rust and stem rust with higher yield potential than Neepawa or Katepwa. Registered 29 January 1991, it is best adapted to the southern portions of the wheat-growing area of the Canadian prairies. AC Cadillac, a hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), is adapted to the Canadian Prairies. It combines high grain yield with high grain protein concentration, heavy kernel and volume weights. It has improved resistance to leaf spots compared with the check cultivars, and resistance to prevalent races of leaf rust, stem rust, loose smut, and common bunt. Registered on 6 April 1990, Pasqua is adapted to the entire wheat-growing area of the Canadian prairies. AAC Redwater is a hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) adapted to the shorter season wheat-growing regions of the Canadian prairies. AAC Redwater was evaluated in the Parkland Wheat Cooperative Test in 2009, 2010, and 2011. AAC Redwater was significantly (P < 0.05) higher yielding than Katepwa (6.4%) and AC Splendor (7.5%) and was not significantly different in grain yield compared to CDC Teal and CDC Osler. AAC Redwater had maturity similar to AC Splendor, matured a day earlier than Katepwa, and was significantly earlier maturing (2 d) than CDC Teal and CDC Osler. AAC Redwater was significantly shorter than all check cultivars and had a similar mean lodging score to the check cultivars. AAC Redwater is resistant to moderately resistant to leaf and stem rust, comparable to AC Splendor. AAC Redwater was resistant to intermediate in its field reaction to stripe rust and intermediate in its reaction to the Ug99 stem rust race, similar to CDC Teal. At the time of registration, AAC Redwater met the end-use quality specifications of the Canada Western Red Spring wheat class.

Glenavon hard red extra strong spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is adapted to the Canadian prairies. It combines 2 to 6% higher grain yield with improved test weight compared to AC Corinne, Glenlea and Wildcat. It is resistant to moderately resistant to prevalent races of leaf and stem rust, resistant to loose smut, and of intermediate resistance to common bunt. Glenavon is eligible for all grades of the Canada Western Extra Strong wheat class.
