Introduction: The 21st century comes with its own challenges so far as the teaching and learning of mathematics is concern. This is because most of the senior students have access to digital devices that allow them to navigate the social media channels like the WhatsApp, Twiter, instagram, SnapChat, Facebook, TikTok and the likes. Unfortunately these handles are loaded with various forms of videos and other stuffs that these innocent young ones turned to love to follow more than their studies, thereby affecting their academic achievements. Purpose: The motive of this study was to enhance students’ conceptual understanding in circle theorems using the flipped classroom approach. Methodology: A sample of Fifty (50) Remedial students from the Bekwai Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region of Ghana was selected by means of purposive sampling method for the study. With the use of quasi- experimental design, a pretest post test method was use to gather the data on the students to ascertain the impact of the interventional design. In addition to the tests, a questionnaire was also used to find out how students feel about the flipped classroom pedagogy in teaching and learning. Findings: The analysis of the questionnaire came out that students enjoyed the lessons and their performance appreciated as a result. A statistical significant improvement in the students’ performance made the researcher reject the null hypothesis and concluded that flipped classroom approach impacted positively on students’ performance. Recommendations: It was therefore recommended that the flipped classroom should be adopted as one of the pedagogical strategies in teaching mathematics at the Senior High school.

In light of contemporary pedagogical methods, the flipped classroom has been recognised as an effective pedagogy in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This study employed a quasi-experimental one-group research design to investigate the impact of flipped learning on Omani EFL learners’ grammar and to examine students’ perceptions on the flipped classroom. An intact group of students (n=28) enrolled at the foundation programme in Arab Open University-Oman was randomly selected. Seven videos on English grammar were developed and shared with the students prior to the class. A varaiety of activities were conducted in the class following task-based language teaching. Students met for 8 lessons over the period of 8 weeks. Pre-test, post-test and semi-structured interviews were used in the study. The findings indicated that flipped learning had a positive impact on students’ understanding and usage of English grammar. Students’ perceptions on the flipped approach were positive. The study also provided pedagogical insights for the flipped classroom and recommendations for future research.

The purpose of the article is to investigate the impact of teaching and learning methods on Jordanian students' performance in primary schools. This study is of quasi-experimental design. Three tools are used in this study: an interactive board, a class PC and traditional tools. The data was collected by questionnaires, and then regressions were used to test the hypothesis. The results indicate that for creativity thinking, the highest difference between pre and post-test is related to class PC followed by traditional learning and finally interactive boards. Moreover, results indicate that the three tools affect fluency, flexibility and originality, while they have no significant effect on elaboration. The results also indicate that for the academic achievement class the PC reported the highest mean, followed by interactive boards and finally by traditional tools. Furthermore, results show that using class the PC and interactive boards affect students' creative thinking as compared to traditional teaching.

Summary. The teaching and learning process is highly determined by motivation and the learning environment. The motivation and the learning environment, within education, both of them depend a lot on the educational methodologies that are implemented in educational centers. The objective of this work is to compare the motivation and the state of Flow between the Flipped Classroom methodological strategy and a traditional methodology. For this reason, a quasi-experimental design study was carried out, with a selection of the non-probabilistic and intentional sample. 103 university students participated in the study, divided into an experimental group (Flipped Classroom) and a control group (traditional methodology). The motivation and the state of Flow were evaluated before the beginning of the lessons related to the subject: "Physical Education Didactics" and at the end of it (four months later). The 2x2 achievement goal questionnaires (Guan et al., 2006) and DREEM (Herrera et al., 2015) were used. To determine if there are initial and final differences between the groups, the T-Student test was performed on independent samples. To observe intra-group differences (pre vs. post-test), a T-Student test was detected for related samples. The results found that there are differences between the control group and the experimental group in the variables approach/mastery (p < .001), teaching (p = .003) and learning (p = .05). With the Flipped Classroom methodology, students have higher levels of motivation and Flow status than students who teach a traditional methodology.

Introduction: the integration of technology in language teaching, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic caused the search for different pedagogical strategies. Due to this drastic change in education along with the rapid access to online resources have placed technology as the most important tool in teaching. Therefore, when planning a class, the teacher must consider digital tools and dynamic methodologies to streamline and motivate students to reduce their affective filter. Objective: the current research aims to determine the effectiveness of Kahoot in the reduction of the impact of the EFL students’ affective filter. Methods: this study developed applied research with a mixed method approach and descriptive scope, with a quasi-experimental design. 42 students actively participated. For the data gathering, two main tools of data collection were used, namely a survey to look for information about the impact of students’ affective filter during the virtual classes and a pre and post-test based on reading comprehension to check the students’ English performance. Conclusions: the students are facing negative experiences in their learning of English because their affective filter is high. Besides, after the intervention phase with the use of Kahoot, the students improved their English performance in the reading comprehension skill. Therefore, it is suggested to continue sampling innovative technological resources to enhance students’ performance.

The multi-shift schooling system was adopted in Saudi Arabian southern borders schools as a result of the Arab coalition efforts to end the coup and restore the state institutions in Yemen. This has left the education community with the perception of inadequate learning time and the possible of creation of learning deficits for all students involved. Using the flipped classroom approach, this study explores this perception of learning and educational gaps resulting from the reduction of the class time and the school day. This study was executed in 2018 and used a quasi-experimental approach to explore the impact of the flipped classroom approach on students’ academic achievement in English language. A pre and post test was utilized to obtain the data. The result revealed that students taught in a flipped classroom approach achieved higher than their counterpart peers taught in the traditional approach. The study recommended the use of the flipped classrooms approach in hazardous areas or areas where there is a need to adopt multi-shift schooling system.

Recently, there has been a proliferation of technopedagogical practices, based on the application of active teaching and learning processes through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The main objective of this work is to analyse the impact of training action through the use of augmented reality in physical education for the development and acquisition of spatial orientation, as opposed to more traditional training based on the exhibition method. The methodology developed is quantitative, through a quasi-experimental design post-test in 140 high school students in the field of physical education. The results indicate that all of the dimensions show a very high, significant relationship. The greatest difference in average is observed in motivation. In contrast, the smallest difference, although significant, is observed in the grades given by the teachers themselves. It can be concluded that the method of teaching through augmented reality is effective in teaching high school students in the subject of physical education, especially for the acquisition of spatially oriented content.

Contemporary pedagogical practices have undergone restructuring and paradigm shifts; in this scenario, hybrid teaching emerged, which has as one of its modalities the flipped classroom. This study, of a mixed and exploratory nature, the objective was to investigate the impact of the flipped classroom on academic performance in human anatomy and the students' perceptions of this methodology in their teaching and learning in this discipline. Participants were human anatomy students from health courses at a private university in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre/RS. A didactic intervention was carried out through the flipped classroom methodology, including the study of the urinary and reproductive systems, where the previous material was made available through two digital hypertexts and in the classroom, digital albums were built. Data were collected through pre and post-test questionnaires, with open questions or Likert scale and analyzed through response scores and content analysis. Participants demonstrated better post-test performance by providing more insight into related content. As for the perceptions, they highlighted the contribution of the flipped classroom to their learning and emphasized as their main positive points their contribution to learning, understanding and memorization, as well as allowing greater interaction and cooperation among colleagues. The most salient negative points were the lack of teacher exposure and the permanence of doubts.

We aimed to contribute to a shift in higher education teaching and learning methods by considering problem-based learning (PBL) as an approach capable of positively affecting students from a geology and environment (GE) curricular unit. In a convenience sample from a Portuguese public university, two groups of students were defined: (1) an experimental group (n = 16), to which an intervention program (IP) based on PBL was applied, and (2) a comparison group (n = 17), subjected to the traditional teaching approach. For nine weeks, students subject to the IP faced four problem scenarios about different themes. A triangulation of methods was chosen. The study involved two phases: (1) qualitative (sustained on content analysis of driving questions raised by students, registered in a monitoring sheet) and (2) quantitative (quasi-experimental study, based on data from a prior and post-test knowledge assessment). The qualitative results point to the development of more complex cognitive-level questioning skills after increasing familiarity with PBL. The data obtained in the quantitative study, which included both a “within-subjects” and a “between-subjects” design, show higher benefits in the experimental group, documenting gains in terms of scientific knowledge when using the PBL methodology.

This research is entitled “Using graphic organizer strategy in teaching writing on narrative paragraph (experimental research). Writing is a very important subject that should be learned by English learners. The students should be able to express their ideas and opinion either in the form of a sentence or paragraph. However, the researcher found that many students at the Second Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Tanah Luas could not express their ideas and develop into the paragraph. Hence, the appropriate strategy of teaching and learning is very important to help students master writing skills. This research aims to know the effect of achievement between the students who are taught writing by using graphic organizers from those taught writing in the narrative by using traditional methods. This research was experimental research and used a quasi-experimental design. The samples chosen in this research were the whole students of class VIII2 and VIII4 of SMPN 1 Tanah Luas. Class VIII2 consisted of 25 students was chosen as experimental group and class VIII4 consisted of 24 students was chosen as control group. This research was conducted in three phrases; there were pre-test, treatments and post-test. The data collection technique used in this research was test. The tests were pre-test and post-test. The researcher gave pre-test before giving treatment and post-test after giving treatment. The treatment was conducted in three meetings. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. The research result and the hypothesis authentication found by using t-test formula in significant level 5% or α = 0.05 were obtained that ttest > ttable. The ttest found in this research was 3.91. Meanwhile, ttable was gotten from the list of distribution value with degree of freedom = 47, because the data not in the table, the researcher used interpolation approach and obtained = 1.67. So > = 3.91 > 1.67. It meant that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. So, graphic organizer strategy significantly affects the students’ ability in mastering writing. Kata Kunci: graphic organizer strategy, teaching and learning, writing narrative paragraph
