A field survey of macrofungi from the Hindu Kush range of District Swat revealed a fungus morphologically similar to Leucoagaricus but representing a new species, here named L. brunneus. A detailed description and comparison with closely allied taxa are provided. Maximum likelihood analysis based on the internal transcribed spacer rDNA region (ITS) confirm its placement in Leucoagaricus sect. Rubrotincti .

Marasmius cystidiatus sp. nov. is described from Kerala State, India based on both morphology and nrITS sequence-based molecular phylogeny. The phylogenetic tree inferred from maximum likelihood analysis showed M. cystidiatus nesting within the clade representing Marasmius section Globulares. Within this clade, M. cystidiatus formed a distinct lineage, sister to a cluster containing mostly members of the series Atrorubentes. A comprehensive description and photographs of both basidiocarps and microscopic structures of the new species are provided along with a comparison with morphologically close and phylogenetically related species.

Corneriella indica sp. nov. is described from Kerala State, India. Comprehensive description, photographs, and comparisons with phenetically similar species are provided. Maximum likelihood analysis conducted on a concatenated dataset comprising ITS, nLSU, nSSU and rpb2 of the Tricholomataceae supported the generic placement and species validity of C. indica. Conspicuous cheilocystidia, one of the defining features of the genus, are missing in C. indica but the lamella edges are still sterile and composed of projecting tramal hyphae with cystidioid terminal elements.

Tubaria squamata is described as new from Jiaohe county, Jilin province, China. This species is distinctive morphologically because of the small (slightly) hairy or scaly pileus, subelliptic to elliptic non-amyloid basidiospores, subclavate to cylindrical or lageniform cheilocystidia, and a pileipellis as a cutis. Phylogenetic analyses based on internal transcribed spacer sequences with Bayesian Inference analysis (BA) and Maximum Likelihood (ML) showed that T. squamata is different from related species. Illustrations and a complete taxonomic description are also provided, as well as a key to the Tubaria species known from China.

Sanghuangporus vitexicola (Hymenochaetales) is described as a new species based on collections made from Pingtung County, tropical South Taiwan. All studied basidiocarps grew on living trunks of Vitex negundo. This new species is characterized by having perennial, pileate basidiocarps; pore surface yellowish brown, pores 6–8 per mm; context 0.7–1.5 cm thick; setae ventricose to subulate, dark brown, 17–30 × 5–8 μm; basidiospores broadly ellipsoid, brownish, smooth, 4.2–4.8 × 3.2–3.7 μm, with 0.2–0.5 μm thick walls. Maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference phylogenies inferred from the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of rDNA indicated that six strains of Sanghuangporus viexicola formed a monophyletic group which is sister to S. zonatus. An identification key to known species of Sanghuangporus is provided.

The new delphacid genus Akemetopon gen. n. (Delphacinae: Delphacini) is described and illustrated with 3 new species from Arizona and Mexico: Akemetopon inornatum sp. n., A. politum sp. n., and A. ainigma sp. n. A key to species is provided. The barcoding portion of the mitochondrial gene Cytochrome Oxidase I (COI) was sequenced for A. politum sp. n. A maximum likelihood analysis places this genus in the basal Delphacini.

Galerina variibasidia, a new species in the Hymenogastraceae, was discovered in Arxan, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. An interesting species of lepiotaceous fungi, Leucoagaricus callainitinctus sp. nov., is described from Kerala State, India based on morphology and molecular phylogeny. This species is distinguished by basidiocarps that turn dark turquoise on bruising/handling or reacting with NH4OH. A phylogenetic study was conducted based on Maximum likelihood analysis of nrITS sequences. In the phylogram, the new species nested as a distinct lineage in a group, which consisted predominantly of members of section Piloselli of the genus Leucoagaricus. A comprehensive description, photographs of the basidiocarps and the microscopic structures, comparisons with phenetically similar and phylogenetically related species and a phylogram showing the placement of the new species are provided.

Plectania lutea, is described as a new species from subtropical karst areas of China. The main distinguishing characteristics of P. lutea are the yellow hymenium, the external surface with ridges, the gelatinous but not semifluid medullary excipulum, and the large finely warted ascospores. The phylogenetic analyses based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and the large subunit (LSU) regions of rDNA sequences using Bayesian (BA) and Maximum Likelihood (ML) methods showed that the new taxon can be distinguished from phenotypically similar and phylogenetically related species.

Hohenbuehelia odorata sp.nov. is described based on morphological and molecular data of the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrITS) region from Kerala State, India. The macro- and micromorphological features in conjunction with nrITS-based phylogenetic analysis performed using Maximum Likelihood (ML) method supported the novelty of H. odorata. Complete morphological descriptions, photographs and comparisons with similar species and a key to the Indian species of Hohenbuehelia are provided.

Two species of Parasola, P. parvula sp. nov. and P. lilatincta are described from Kerala State, India, based on both morphology and molecular phylogeny. Descriptions with photographs of both the basidiocarps and the micro-structures and comparison with morphologically similar and phylogenetically related species are provided. Sequences of both the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) and the nuclear ribosomal large subunit (nLSU) region of the two species were obtained and used in BLASTn searches. Phylogenetic study was based on Maximum likelihood (ML) analysis of the ITS sequences.
