Introduction: Literature review has revealed that the distribution of the enzymes of 6-phospo-gluconate dehydrogenase activities of some acetone derived tissues in animal tissue have so far not been investigated systematically. This leaves a gap for further investigation to explore the subject matter deeply. Method: Barium salts of D-Glucose 6-phosphate (0 6-P), 6-phosphogluconate (6-PO) and D-ribose 5-phosphate (R 5-P) are available and were used in our study. (TNP) triphosphopyridine was prepared and analyzed; its composition was 75% TNP without (DNP) diphosphopyridine nucleotide. Ice-cold isotone KCL (0-15M-KCL with 8ml, 0-02M-KHCO3) was disintegrated in 09 parts. It is done in a potter glass homogenizer or in a Nelco homogenizer. This is followed by centrifuging and dialysis of the supernatants. Heparinized blood 10ml was used for erythrocyte hemolysis, which was diluted with 10ml of water. 01 part of haemolysate was treated with 9 parts of isotonic KCI. Spectroscope is used to determine the dehydrogenase activity of dialyzed tissue. The method followed was of Glock and McLean. Study Design: Quantitative, cross sectional study. Settings: Institute of Biochemistry, Gulab Devi Educational Complex, Lahore Duration: 01 Year i.e. 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2021. Results: Enzymes activities of 6-PG dehydrogenase and Gluco-6- phospo dehydrogenase mentioned in table 1&2 in normal mammalian tissue and mammary glands. The results obtained on the tumour cells are given in table 3. These Values are within the limits in normal tissues whereas it becomes on higher side in lymphomas and sarcomas. Conclusion: This study shows some limitation that the maximum enzymic activities are determined, whereas in the intact cell other regulatory factors probably limit or control the activity of this pathway. Keywords: Gluco-6- phospodehydrogenase, 6-PG dehydrogenase, oxidative pathway, Ribose 5-Pentose, mammalian tissue

Qualitative dissections require knowledge of dissection tool kit and dissection skills which acquired will allow dissector to take care for cadaveric donor while acquiring the experience and knowledge of a successful dissection. This promotes the researcher to equip the learner in initial phase with dissection skills and tools. The main objective of the study is to analyse the learner prior and after interventional sessions as to how effective the session would be helpful in improving the quality and participation of learners in dissection. A qualitative prospective cross-sectional study was done in 168 Learners of I MBBS by an interventional session on the topic through General lecture and demonstration. Learners were assessed prior and after the interventional session by same validated questionnaire. Perceptions of learners were also taken. The obtained data were compared and its significance was analysed by Chi-square test using Epi info 7.1 software. The pre and post-test scores showed a significant improvement of 64 percent on average with p value less than 0.001 indicating that the session was fruitful. 80% of learners also opined that the session stimulated interest in the subject and improved their dissection skills. An interventional session on “Awareness of dissection skills and tools” in the initial phase would increase the Learners performing quality dissections with ease. This would also help the learner to acquire better independent surgical skills and understanding in clinical phases of learning and therefore would recommend it in early phase of I MBBS Anatomy.

From January 2016, nurses in Poland received new competencies for prescribing. The work is the first in Poland to elaborate on the subject of nurses’ readiness to learn and develop in the context of new nursing rights regarding autonomous prescription of medication and continuation of the prescription for medication. The aim of the study is to analyze the readiness of Polish nurses to learn and develop in the context of new competencies to write prescriptions. The research was conducted among 756 nurses. The standardized questionnaire (Readiness of Employees for Learning and Development) was used. For all subscales of readiness for learning and development, average scores prevailed. The readiness to write prescriptions was significantly related to the level of openness to changes in the work environment (A1 scale), self-evaluation of past educational development (C5 scale) and educational and professional goals alignment- employee and company (scale D2) and increasing the readiness of nurses to practice all of the aforementioned agents, in particular medical devices. The readiness of nurses to learn and develop at all levels of the subscales was on an average level. Younger nurses, with a shorter seniority, having higher education and additional qualifications had a higher readiness to prescribe medications and write prescriptions. The higher readiness for learning and development was matched by a greater readiness to prescribe. The results obtained can be used to plan training and courses, as well as to create special pro-development programs, which may increase the nurses’ involvement in personal and professional development.

Abstract Purpose: To determine the corneal densitometry values by using Scheimpflug imaging in myopic, and hyperopic children and to compare the results with emmetropic children. Methods: The corneal densitometry measurements of the subject were obtained with Pentacam Scheimpflug tomography. The values were automatically measured in standardized grayscale units (GSU) over an area 12 mm in diameter, which was subdivided into 4 annular concentric zones (0-2 mm, 2-6 mm, 6-10 mm, 10-12 mm) and 3 corneal depths (anterior layer: anterior 120 µm; central layer: from 120 µm to the last 60 µm; posterior layer: last 60 µm). In addition, we evaluated the correlation between spherical equivalence and anterior corneal morphological parameters and the corneal densitometry values. Results: A total of 216 participants were included in this prospective cross-sectional study. The eyes were divided into three groups related to their spherical equivalent (SE) refractive error values as follows: 89 (41.2%) hyperopic eyes, 66 (30.6%) myopic eyes, and 61 (28.2%) emmetropic control eyes. The hyperopic eyes were found to have lower corneal densitometry values in 4 annular zones and the total diameter of all depths except the central layer. However, only the 6-10 mm annular zone of the central and posterior layers of the myopic eyes had lower corneal densitometry values than emmetropic eyes. There was also a significant correlation between spherical equivalence and corneal densitometry values in some zones of the hyperopic eyes. Conclusion: Backward scattering of light was lower in hyperopic eyes and this could affect the visual quality.

BACKGROUND: Sports for people with disabilities and injuries have been the subject of discourse in the professional literature in the fields of traumatology and sports medicine. OBJECTIVE: This research aims to elucidate the injury characteristics of athletes in the Indonesian national team. The subject of this study were nine athletes (male=5, female=4) with males around the age of 28±9.13 and females 28±5.66 years. METHOD: The method approach is descriptive with a cross-sectional study technique using a questionnaire about injury history, types of injury, injury factors, and injury management for Indonesian Para Athletics Athletes who have competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Data analysis is depicted in numbers and percentages and Fisher's exact test to determine the relationship between variables. RESULTS: The study results reported that Indonesian athletes suffered injuries of the lower limbs (70%), part of the body that is frequently injured was the thigh (28%) and the type of injury that was often experienced sprain/twist. CONCLUSION: The injury characteristics in the sprint (track) category form a pattern of injuries to the thigh, Achilles tendon, ankle, and knee. There appears to be no correlation between gender, training frequency, injury share, match number, and warm-up type. The implication is that injury management is necessary before and during competition by considering biomechanics, pathophysiology, and psychosocial problems. Injury prevention strategies by coaches and medical teams should lead to more significant injury reduction and optimize athletes' health, safety, and well-being.

Background: Chronic pain is an emotional and sensorial experience that triggers functional incapacity guided especially by the biopsychosocial changes, that lead to its aggravation directly affecting the recovery of the patient. Objective: To verify the presence of biopsychosocial factors in the subject with chronic pain on the physiotherapeutic care undergone in a clinical physiotherapy school. Method: A cross-sectional study, conducted in the physiotherapy clinic of the Health Sciences Center of the Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná, in which were evaluated 26 subjects with chronic pain through the Pain Numerical Rating Scale; Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale; Pain Catastrophizing Scale; Fear Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire; and Global Perceived Effect Scale. The statistical analysis had significance value of P≤0.05. Results: Even with reduction of pain intensity with P=0.04, the values do not indicate clinically relevant difference. The global perceived effect scale does not indicate a significant improvement of the subjects; however this is justified because the treatment does not address biopsychosocial aspects, being a technical approach. Conclusion: The treatment of chronic pain associated with a biopsychosocial approach would be the most indicated in clinical practice.
