In current research the role of women in terrorist organizations has remained largely underexposed. This article responds to the call to draw attention to the active women's role in terrorist organizations by uncovering how women in terrorist organizations, specifically Al-Shabaab, socialize with other women who enter or change roles within the organization. This has been done through a literature review, which integrates the insights drawn from papers on the role of women in terrorist organizations with current knowledge on organizational socialization. The research shows that women are active in a wide array of roles and that they should not only be viewed as passive victims. Furthermore, women already familiar with the terrorist organization are especially important for the socialization of female newcomers and their role in maintaining the terrorist organization should not be ignored. The article also sheds light on how the theory of organizational socialization could be improved. As the results provide a better understanding on how socialization might differ depending on the degree of autonomy the newcomer has and what insights it might provide for other criminal organizations.

ABSTRACT Keratoconus is a progressive corneal ectactic condition that can lead to visual loss. Despite being the most common cause for keratoplasty in the developed world the aetiology is unknown. It is thought to be multifactorial, with genetic and environmental factors implicated. The association of eye rubbing and pathogenesis of keratoconus has been well documented. In this review, we collate the existing literature and summarize the current knowledge of the role of eye rubbing in the pathogenesis of keratoconus. How to cite this article Hawkes E, Nanavaty MA. Defining the role of women in Islamic society has been an issue for debate in post-revolutionary Iran, particularly in light of recent rulings affecting women. This is not merely a theoretical debate but a crisis situation where some women who participated in the revolution alongside men now find themselves in a peculiarly difficult position in relation to society and the current government. Ali shariati (d. 1977), through his publihsed works and transcribed lectures during the 1960s and 1970s, has had a tremendous impact on the direction of this debate. Completely rejecting the role of women in both western and traditional societies, Shariati offers a third alternative: the figure of Fatima, daughter of the Prophet Mohammad and wife of Ali, the first Imam of the Shi'is as the personification of women's role.

This study aims to examine and analyze the causes, logic and meaning (vertehen) the creation of the marginalization of women’s role in the anti-corruption movement in West Kalimantan, as well as offering an adaptive institutional model for women’s role in the anti-corruption movement. The method used is a method of socio legal. Based on the research results can be seen that empirically, the position of women as wives and mothers have a decisive strategic role and contribution in efforts to prevent corruption.

This chapter is based on a systematic literature review of 56 articles published in leading academic journals and aims to reflect on the role of women in family businesses, focusing on specifics, contradictions, and opportunities derived from this specific setting. In detail, this work intends to disentangle this ambiguous and fragmentary topic and shed light on new perspectives by identifying how and why women are involved in invisible or minor roles where they are sometimes unpaid or paid less than men, despite having shown uncontested ability in firm management. Further studies are suggested to analyze in depth specific insights of the topic, particularly those related to anthropological and psychological perspectives.

The point of terrorism is to upset and make people feel vulnerable. ‘The trouble with terrorism’ attempts to define terrorism by examining the relationship between terror and war. Should all acts of terrorism be regarded as illegal? What factors decide whether an act of violence by non-state actors is justifiable despite being illegal? There are three elements in the terror process: seizing attention (shock, horror, fear, or revulsion), getting the terrorist message across, and fight or flight (the response to terrorism). The different strategies of terror, the shapes and forms of different terrorist organizations and their arms, as well as the role of women in terrorism are also considered.

Both recent progresses reached in molecular genetics and “Genoma Umano” project have collected positive results for the identication of those different genes involved in pathogenesis of human race pathologies. Just like any other medicine branch, dentistry could prot from molecular biology recent progresses, showing several answers to unknown questions. This knowledge also concerns genesis of pathologies interesting tissues (enamel, dentin, pulp, cementum), teeth formation and development. Our work aims at verifying, by means of a literature review, the current knowledge and the state of art of dental agenesis molecular bases, in order to better understand the etiopathogenetic role of inheritance and transmission of hypodontia. Our literature review elaborates on dental agenesis biomolecular bases, in order to group in one review all the new ndings in genetic eld about dental anomalies, attempting to give the clinician more information to make easier to manage one of the most discussed surgical dental pathology.

In studies of terrorism, women are generally considered to be passive, vulnerable victims. Despite increasing awareness of the various roles of women in terrorism, the attention of media and analysts is directed at those who claim responsibility for the incidents. Therefore, the issues pertinent to the identity, gender and role of the perpetrators remain marginalized. Using descriptive-analytical method and a historical view of the evolution of women’s roles in terrorist organizations, the present research examines women’s motivation for membership in these organizations as well as transformation of women’s role in terrorist activities. The results of the research suggest that women, for personal, cultural and social reasons, play a role as members of terrorist organizations at all levels and even as leaders of these organizations. Initially, women’s role was limited to doing promotional work and collecting information and resources. But gradually, as their motivation and awareness increased and they received further military training, they now participate as effective agents in the executive, decision-making and leadership structures of terrorist organizations. The progressive trend of women’s recruitment in terrorist groups indicates that women’s role in terrorism has transformed from being passive, submissive players to being active players. This raises serious concerns regarding the prevalence of extremism among future generations as a result of women’s essential role in the upbringing of these generations. Raising awareness in the international community about the multiple roles played by women in terrorism could be effective in development of relevant policies, enhancing women’s functions, and fighting violent extremism.

A bibliographic study is made to analyse the role of women in emergent countries and in development projects. It appears that women, through their work, are far more dependent on natural resources and environmental conditions than men. They should therefore be more strongly involved in development projects.
