ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the perception of hospitalized patients about the care received through an extensionist musical visit under the perspective of the Theory of Human Caring. Method: a descriptive-exploratory-qualitative research conducted in a hospital of the state of Bahia, with 15 hospitalized patients, interviewed within 24 hours after receiving the extensionist musical visit. Collection involved semi-structured interview, analyzed through Discourse of the Collective Subject. Results: three axes emerged: Musical Care at the interface with Transpersonal Care; Music as a rescue element of hope during hospitalization; and Beyond music - a meeting between care, art and human relations. The results show the feelings evoked during the experience of the musical visit and emphasize the importance of this activity. Conclusion and Implications for the practice: music as a Transpersonal Care strategy motivates patient-staff-family ties, encouraging optimism and hope by mobilizing feelings and sensations of body, mind and soul, enabling the emergence of resilient behaviors during the hospitalization process. The study promotes reflection and guidance for the most creative, sensitive and bold care in the hospital environment. It suggests greater use of music by the health staff - meeting a care extended to human needs that transcend the physical.

Abstract This is a study whose objective was to analyze, in the discourse of hospitalized patients, how the power of knowledge is revealed in Nursing care relations. It was developed in the qualitative perspective, having as theoretical reference the concept of power issued by Michel Foucault. The data were collected between August and December 2015 and the participants were 16 patients hospitalized in the medical and surgical clinics of a university hospital, who had the speech recorded through a semi-structured interview, after approval of the ethics committee under Opinion No. 1189934. In order to analyze the data we used the system of differentiations developed by Foucault. The results showed that the professionals exert power by the highly specialized professional knowledge and that they know what they do, so they send and control the accomplishment of the care, leading the patient to submission. It concludes that the exercise of the power to care must be based on the observance of ethical and bioethical principles.

ABSTRACT Objectives: To describe the nursing care provided to people deprived of liberty (PDL) in the hospital environment. Methods: An exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted with 38 nursing professionals in three regional hospitals located in the Northeast of Brazil, between March and July of 2016. Content analysis was performed on the data. Results: Two categories emerged from the analysis: nursing care provided to people deprived of liberty in the hospital setting and self-evaluation of nursing care provided to PDL. Final considerations: The nursing care delivered to people deprived of liberty in the hospital environment is limited to technical procedures, revealing a fragmented work process that falls short of the standards of public policies. We found that structural deficiency, particularly regarding safety in the hospital environment, associated with lack of professional training to deal with this clientele, make nursing care difficult in this context.
