Activity of students is very important and need to be considered by the teacher to get the optimal results, especially in chemistry subjects.Chemistry subjects are difficult for students because they are abstract and complicated, such as colloids material. So that, additional information is needed to make the abstract material into concrete and complex become more obvious. Proper use of media is a way to increase students' understanding of colloids. In order to students quickly understand the concept of colloids and activities of students to be better, therefore a teacher is required to choose and make a learning media. This study was aimed to describe learning activities of students using innovative developed pop-up book on colloids. The development method used was research and development (R & D) through ADDIE model. Subjects in this study were thirty one of senior high school students from grade XI, SMAN 4 Banda Aceh which were taken by purposive sampling. Data of students’ activities were collected using observation sheet. Besides that, the eligibility of developed pop-up book was measured using questionnaire which was filled by expert validators. Results showed that the eligibility of pop-up book was found to be 73.50 percent belong to the category of decent. In addition, the learning activities were found to be increased from 76.21 to 86.25 percent from first meeting to second meeting, respectively. It concluded that the learning activities of students using developed innovative pop-up book on colloids material were very good.

Learning activities that encourage students to think logically and to discover valid modes of reasoning are receiving increased attention in the elementary mathematics curriculum. Several excellent games through which children learn to ask good questions and to make efficient use of available information have been described in the Arithmetic Teacher (Gessel et al. 1972, Aichele 1972). A concrete setting for a variety of experiences for developing principles of logical reasoning is provided by a set of attribute blocks (Dienes and Golding 1966). In this article a guessing-type game based on these materials is described. While the game in its simplest form can be played and enjoyed by children in the primary grades, it can also be used as a point of departure for worthwhile activities for junior and senior high school students.

This article reports a corpus-based study of a series of Indonesian EFL textbooks for senior high school students from grades 10to 12 (16-18 years old), published by the Indonesian government. The textbooks were collected from the Indonesian bookkeeping information system and transferred into ready-to-analyse corpora using Range Programme (Heathley et al., 2002) to know the vocabulary load and what words are available for learning. The most significant finding in this study showed that the textbooks require 3,000-4,000 word families to reach 95% coverage with some help needed to comprehend the textbooks and 5,000-6,000 word families to gain 98% coverage which means the students can cope independently to read the textbooks. The textbooks contain a large amount of high-frequency words with more than 80% and up to 7% of Indonesian words which play roles in learning objectives and pre-vocabulary teaching activities. The results of this study suggest the vocabulary features and implications for learning, present the pedagogical implications for teachers and textbook writers, and provide a springboard for future research.

This article describes senior high school students' social skills in learning physics by applying the problem-posing approach. This study conducted by implementing a pre-experimental method of the One-Shot Case Study. The samples of this study were  38 students from XII Science class who chosen from a population of 240 students at grade X, XI, and XII at one of the senior high schools in Tapanuli Selatan. The data of students' social skills collected through observation sheets of social skills with five aspects of indicators, namely being consistent with doing tasks, encouraging participation, taking turns and sharing tasks, listening actively, and asking questions. The data analyzed by calculating the average score of students social from each indicator. The score of each indicator of the students' social skills was varied for every meeting, ranging from very high, high, moderate, low to very low, and so was the number of students for each criterion of social skills on each meeting. The results concluded that the profile of social skills in learning physics through a problem-posing approach revealed various levels of mastery of the students' social skills. The variety could be observed from the ability of social skills on each indicator and the number of students for each criterion of social skills in each meeting.
