<span>This paper studies the impact of fin width of channel on temperature and electrical characteristics of fin field-effect transistor (FinFET). The simulation tool multi-gate field effect transistor (MuGFET) has been used to examine the FinFET characteristics. Transfer characteristics with various temperatures and channel fin width (WF=5, 10, 20, 40, and 80 nm) are at first simulated in this study. The results show that the increasing of environmental temperature tends to increase threshold voltage, while the subthreshold swing (SS) and drain-induced barrier lowering (DIBL) rise with rising working temperature. Also, the threshold voltage decreases with increasing channel fin width of transistor, while the SS and DIBL increase with increasing channel fin width of transistor, at minimum channel fin width, the SS is very near to the best and ideal then its value grows and going far from the ideal value with increasing channel fin width. So, according to these conditions, the minimum value as possible of fin width is the preferable one for FinFET with better electrical characteristics.</span>

The smart city systems development connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) has been the goal of several works in the multi-agent system field. Nevertheless, just a few projects demonstrate how to deploy and make the connection among the employed systems. This paper proposes an approach towards the integration of a MAS through the JaCaMo framework plus an Urban Simulation Tool (SUMO), IoT applications (Node-RED, InfluxDB, and Grafana), and an IoT platform (Konker). The integration presented in this paper applies in a Smart Parking scenario with real features, where is shown the integration and the connection through all layers, from agent level to artifacts, including real environment and simulation, as well as IoT applications. In future works, we intend to establish a methodology that shows how to properly integrate these different applications regardless of the scenario and the used tools.

Analysis of unsteady CH4/Air counterflow premixed flame into a newly designed plus-shaped channel is investigated in this study. The main objective is to explore the impact of platinum catalytic–coated walls of the combustion chamber on the flame characteristics and pollutant emissions. The OpenFOAM platform is used as a numerical simulation tool to investigate the effects of various equivalence ratios, from the range of lean to rich flames, and passing the reaction time on the counterflow flame characteristics and pollutant emissions of a plus-shaped chamber with the platinum catalyst–coated wall. Results show that the integrated temperature over the proposed geometry with platinum surfaces increases by 18% compared to the non-catalytic case. The numerical simulation revealed that presence of the platinum catalyst on the wall of the chamber has significant impact on reducing the pollutant emissions. This is evident as a 99.5% decrease on NO2 emission and a 58% reduction on CO2 formation are found.

The building façade has a crucial role in acting as the interface between the environment and the indoor ambient, and from an engineering and architecture perspective, in the last years, there has been a growing focus on the strategic development of building façades. In this sense, this work aims to present a literature review for the Building Integrated Solar Energy Systems (BI-SES) for façades, subdivided into three categories: thermal, photovoltaic and hybrid (both thermal and photovoltaic). The methodology used corresponds to a systematic review method. A sample of 75 works was reviewed (16 works on thermal BI-SES, 37 works on photovoltaic BI-SES, 22 works on hybrid BI-SES). This article summarises the works and later classifies them according to the type of study (numerical or experimental), simulation tool, parametric analysis and performance when applied.
