The method of conversation is one of the mediums used by teachers in achieving their teaching objectives. The results of the discussion sessions made by students in the group succeeded in achieving student understanding of the lessons being taught. At the same time, this discussion method can be used for all subjects based on the teacher's creativity. This study will focus on conversation methods in the teaching of Islamic education in low schools. This study aims to identify the concept of the discussion method, how to apply the conversation method in teaching Islamic education in ordinary schools, and review the effectiveness of the conversation method. This study was carried out using a qualitative approach based on library studies and informal interviews with bright teachers of low school Islamic education. Document analysis and independent studies are also used as references. The study results found that this discussion method was suitable for use in teaching Islamic education at the low school level. The teacher's use of correct conversational methods gives the impression of understanding, motivation, and academic improvement in student learning.

Abstract Research-validated clicker questions as instructional tools for formative assessment are relatively easy to implement and can provide effective scaffolding when developed and implemented in a sequence. We present findings from the implementation of a research-validated Clicker Question Sequence (CQS) on student understanding of the time-development of two-state quantum systems. This study was conducted in an advanced undergraduate quantum mechanics course for two consecutive years in virtual and in-person classes. The effectiveness of the CQS discussed here in both modes of instruction was determined by evaluating students’ performance after traditional lecture-based instruction and comparing it to their performance after engaging with the CQS.

This chapter describes an action research in which creative story writing was used to assess student understanding of graph construction. Students were encouraged to write stories involving motion and visually depict verbal descriptions of stories in the form of tables and line graphs. Student work revealed several misconceptions held by students vis-à-vis writing motion-based stories, tabulation of data, plotting of graphs, and establishing congruence between stories and graphs. This study suggests several feedback measures that can be used by teachers to rectify these misconceptions.

It is believed that communication through technology applications is very important in the current learning situation. Among the utilized applications, WhatsApp presents as the most used application in the Indonesian teaching and learning circumstance. The purpose of this study was to find out the students’ perspective on the use of WA in-class discussion outside the classroom for postgraduate students in the Reading Learning course. The method used a descriptive qualitative case study. Data was taken from interviews and group discussion forums. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and concluding stages. The results showed that the WA group became a fairly effective medium at the level of student understanding for each of the teaching materials discussed. However, communication within the WA group requires standard rules agreed upon by each student so that the goal of forming a WA group as a learning medium outside the classroom can be achieved.

Understanding the principles and factors that affect the effectiveness of applying digital technology in learning is very important. Therefore, the research was carried out with the aim of being able to determine the level of student understanding of the face-to-face learning model in the S1 Building Engineering Education Study Program before the Covid-19 pandemic and students' understanding of the online lecture model during the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the effectiveness model of online lectures in courses during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive research study. The object of research is student understanding (academic years 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/20200), which includes understanding before the Covid-19 pandemic and understanding during the Covid-19 pandemic. The subject of the research is the S1 Building Engineering Education Study Program, Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Unesa. The results of this study are expected to reveal the level of understanding of students with the face-to-face learning model and the level of understanding of students with the online lecture model as well as the effectiveness of the online lecture model in courses during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Revolution 4.0 resulted in teachers having to continue to improve their abilities, especially in making learning media. Learning media is one of the teacher's tools to transfer knowledge to students. With the suitable media, the level of student understanding of the lesson will increase. During this pandemic, the learning method used is online. Teachers only provide material in the form of files in document format. Giving such learning materials makes students less interested in learning which causes a decrease in understanding of the material. From these problems, we need a learning media that can make students understand the material, which gives students enthusiasm in learning, namely by changing the learning media used today. One of the learning media that can increase students' interest in learning is interactive media, such as QR Code technology. For this reason, teachers need knowledge and understanding of making learning media using QR codes. To support this, the school held community service activities. The activity aims to introduce and provide training on QR Code Technology in the Development of Learning Media at SDN 15 Pal Merah, West Jakarta, so learning is more exciting and interactive.
