Digital health data is important to keep secure, and patients' perception around the privacy of it is essential to the development of digital health records. In this paper we present people's perceptions of the communication of data protection, in relation to their personal health data and the access to it; we focused particularly on people with chronic or long-term illness. Based on their use of personally accessible health records, we inquired into their explicit perception of security and sense of data privacy in relation to their health data. Our goal was to provide insights and guidelines to designers and developers on the communication of data protection in health records in an accessible way for the users. We analyzed their approach to and experience with their own health care records and describe the details of their challenges. A conceptual framework called "Privacy Awareness' was developed from the findings and reflects the perspectives of the users. The conceptual framework forms the basis of a proposal for design guidelines for Digital Health Record systems, which aim to address, facilitate and improve the users' awareness of the protection of their online health data.

The increase of insecurity levels in Mexico, as well as the fact that violence is a frequent experience among health personnel, motivated this study whose purpose was to evaluate the perception of security and violence that social service medical interns (SSMI) had on the institutions and localities where they carried out their social work and make visible the main types of violence to which they were exposed. This was a cross-sectional study, based on a perception survey self-administered to 157 SSMI from Zacatecas, in Mexico. A high proportion of the participants (75.8%) stated that they were victims of violence, describing 134 incidents; however, only 33.6% of SSMI made an official report. The reported incidents were related to organized crime (31.9%), verbal violence (20.6%), violence by the authorities (14.7%) and sexual harassment (11.8%). One hundred percent of the victims of sexual harassment were women (p = 0.039). According to the above, it is a priority to generate strategies to prevent and reduce the risk of exposure to the violence generated in the medical units and communities where SSMI carry out their activities as medical graduates, as well as, to efficiently process formal violence reports to promote a safe environment that favors the fulfillment of the practice of SSMIs in Mexico.

The study aimed to determine what security concerns are taken into account during the selection of a tourist destination. The research data were collected in 2019 from respondents belonging to various age groups (N = 2,065) in the Czech Republic, using online and paper questionnaires. The analysis of answers resulted in the formation of 84 individual concepts, which were subsequently summed into nine categories. They include acute threats, country, economic and political state of the country, environmental characteristics, health and hygiene, personal reasons, religion, social situation in the country and travelling preferences. The results provide an insight into people's perceptions of travel destinations in terms of security and show which issues deter visitors from entering a given country. Such opinions are important to many security agencies that deal with threats against tourists, as well as to those involved in promoting security among tourists.

This article addresses the cost associated to defence, i.e., the resources that societies shall allocate to provide security to their members. It examines the methods and ways for setting and distributing these resources to obtain enough military capabilities for sustaining the perception of security of the citizens. The choice of an allocation that optimises social welfare is rather old and of constant concern. The main novelty of this article is exploring this problem from the bounded rationality of the human being, the imperfect information available, the choices unsupported by economic rationality and the constrained effectiveness of institutions and norms. These issues may drive to allocations that do not necessarily achieve the largest welfare.

The objective of this work was to provide empirical validity to the Security Perception Scale. A cross-sectional, correlational and psychometric study was conducted with a selection of 100 students. He suspects his participation in local crime prevention programs. Seven dimensions were established: territorial, national, public (government), human, public (self-protection), private and international, although the research design limited the results to the sample surveyed, suggesting the extension of work to other aspects of public insecurity .

There are many technological developments in banks, one of which is online transactions. To get these transactions, an account should be opened using the electronic know you customer (e-KYC) verification system at banks. This research wants to know the differences in the factors that influence behavioral intentions to use e-KYC to open a bank account for SCB (The Siam Commercial Bank) Thailand and Bank Mandiri Indonesia. This is quantitative research using a survey. We have prepared a questionnaire of 160 respondents: 80 for Bank Mandiri and 80 for SCB. The results indicate that the willingness to use electronic identity verification services influence by the availability of technology, the external impact of the network, safety awareness, perception of trust, and perception of security. The perception of security affects the perception of trust, and technical protection, also the transaction procedure does not affect the perception of trust.

Research aims: This study is intended to determine the influence of perceived security and trust on the decision to use digital payment systems during the COVID-19 pandemic.Design/Methodology/Approach: The type of data used in this study was primary data, which was collected using an online survey. Sample used in this study determined by purposive sampling method. The information collected was handled and analyzed using SEM-PLS.Research findings: This study shows the results that the presence of technical protection explicitly affects the perception of security and trust significantly. In addition, security also greatly affects an individual's confidence in the use of digital payment systems. However, of the various findings made in this study, trust is the only one that influences the choice in using EPS.Theoretical contribution/Originality: During this pandemic Covid-19, limited studies talk about consumers’ perceptions instead of technical protection of digital payment in detail. Meanwhile, consumers' security is the thing that needs to be studied further to create a comprehensive study result.Practitioner/Policy implication: Results of this study give some implications for the EPS providers to complete and develop a secure EPS system for users, especially in this pandemic era when the EPS users increase and people’s mobility is restricted in some areas.Research limitation/Implication: The implication of this research is to emphasize the importance of one's knowledge regarding risks when using an electronic payment system. It is because the use of EPS in the pandemic era is unavoidable. Therefore, not only providers must improve their security systems, but users must also be aware of the EPS risks and security. Nevertheless, the limitation of this study is that it only used samples in Indonesia; maybe the results will be different when applied in other countries with better EPS security systems.

Financial technology (fintech) services have come to differentiate themselves from traditional financial services by offering unique, niche, and customized services. Mobile payment service (MPS) has emerged as the most crucial fintech service. While many studies have addressed the essential role of security when service providers and users choose to engage in financial transactions, the relationship between users distinct perceptions of security and MPS success determinants are yet to be examined. Thus, this study primarily aims to uncover the distinctive roles of platform and technology security by investigating how users react differently to their varying understandings of the MPS usage environment. This study proposes a research model comprising two security dimensions (platform and technology) and three MPS success determinants (convenience, interoperability, and trust). We evaluated the proposed model empirically by using an online survey of 356 users. The survey accounts users experiences of the selected MPS. The results show that a security driven MPS can essentially enhance or deteriorate users positive perceptions of MPS success determinants while they use it for financial transactions. To further understand how this recent trend of user perception of security affects the overall MPS usage experience, this study provides theoretical insights into the roles of platform and technology securities. Managerial insights on the design strategies of MPS providers are also provided based on the potential implications of users subjective and objective perceptions of MPS security environment.

The process of re-evaluating the extent of military threats in the context of ensuring international security was determined by the end of the Cold War. In this context, the perception of security was attributed to the general assessment of the possible security threats and risks. Based on this fact, the security of the person, of the human individual, was conceived as a fundamental element of the security system construction, including the subsystem of the national security assurance. Therefore, the security phenomenon has been reinvented, reevaluated and realized in the context of new realities, so that the importance of state security has diminished, being replaced by the concerns about new risks, dangers and threats related to climate change, social processes, degradation of ecology and environment, etc. As a result, an increase of in the importance of the non-military security dimensions has been generated. Human security, as a new constructivist conception in security studies, has led to the emergence of new perspectives on security as a global social phenomenon, being a conception produced by the critical approach to neorealism. Human security involves ensuring the protection of individuals taken individually, but also as a social whole. This is possible by ensuring the living conditions and fundamental needs of the human person. Individual safety is based on strategic benchmarks that highlight the purpose of educating, training and developing the fundamental qualities and virtues of the person, in order to prepare him to face the risks and threats related to security. Namely, these benchmarks are the basis for strengthening the mechanisms for ensuring human security at the beginning of the XXI century. The article analyzes the process of ensuring human security in the conditions of globalization, highlighting the ways to achieve global changes in security, the investigations being directed mainly to highlight the current processes of reconfiguring positions and resizing democratization in the context of improving mechanisms that ensure the security of the human person and of humanity as a whole.
