As the COVID-19 disease rapidly transmitted through interpersonal contact, it required people to avoid physical contact. Almost all countries in the world have suspended the education of children and youth, a highly active network, and switched to online education to reduce the spread of the virus. Distance education, unlike the traditional education system, has a structure that does not require students to be on a campus or be in the same environment with instructors. As the global epidemic broke out, the distance education system was reviewed, and a new education order started to be established. Students, parents, and teachers found themselves in a situation they were not used to before. In this study, the advantages and disadvantages of distance education are analyzed, hybrid and hybrid-flexible (hyflex) models are examined, the educational changes during the pandemic period as well as the anticipations of the post-pandemic period are reviewed, and lastly, future educational solutions are proposed.

Employment and employability have lately surfaced as a significant concern for India that stands as the world's second central higher education system. The post-COVID-19 era further demanded a comprehensive policy at the national level. The Indian government approved the new education policy (NEP), bringing changes to higher education in the country on 29th July 2020. After an exhaustive reading of all education policies published in Indian literature, the authors present this viewpoint chapter, contributing to the extant literature on education policies in the following three ways. The first purpose is to evaluate and compare the current NEP 2020 to the last two educational policies of 1968 and 1986 to understand how far each policy could realize the goal of employability. The second purpose is to adumbrate the gaps between industry and academia in the proposed NEP 2020 to propose some transformative steps to fill the outlined gap. Thirdly, the main findings are depicted through a graphical representation to give some directions for future policy and research in employability.

It is beautiful to be able to have the opportunity to allow oneself a doubt on the unquestionability of one's mental habits; it is beautiful to be able to renew one's energy to relate to the world in a way not bent by the banality of convenience and calculation. It is beautiful to realise that one feels the need for beauty as an inspirational motive for one's thinking, feeling and acting, and as a resource towards a new education. The serious pandemic crisis has probably accelerated a necessary but demanding process that takes time to accomplish: that of becoming aware of a reality based on the principle of interconnection and interdependence – of the person with all his/her dimensions, with each other, with the Cosmos. I believe that this new perception of reality – as the result of an experience – can mark a new step for the discourse and pedagogical practice so as to devote itself to a new form of beauty in the search for a ἀλήθεια (aletheia) truth to be configured as a desire for unveiling and deep understanding of the sense of reality, to be nourished in a revitalised interdisciplinarity, with a sense of wonder and amazement for every aspect of life. Care, responsibility and commitment, if animated by joy and love, can only aspire to excellence, giving the person the opportunity to fully realise his or her dignity and humanity.

In recent decades, Higher Education has been on a journey towards virtualization, resulting in the emergence of new education modalities based on the Internet, such as online and blended education. This has given rise to the need to develop evaluation models and experiences in order to assess the quality of these modalities, which in turn has led to an increase in the scientific literature in this field. Considering this scenario, the present study aimed to build the state of the art in the field of quality evaluation of virtual education in the higher level, particularly with regard to the blended modality, for which the methodology of systematic review of the literature was implemented in the scientific production published between 2015 and 2021. The results show an inclination towards a partial conception of evaluation, focused on the quality of concrete training actions and specific aspects of virtual education, as are the subjects and LMS platforms, in substitution of a global perspective, also oriented towards online education and without a clear distinction between this and the blended modality.
