Through the development of the COVID-19 disease, various diagnosis methods have been studied. One of them is the computed tomography (CT), which has the best level of detail among medical image exams. The CT generates a repeatable and tiring workload, in addition to needing a team that is familiar with the findings that indicate pneumonia caused by COVID-19. To reduce this manual work and collaborate with these teams, several studies have been carried out using deep learning techniques. In this way, this study presents a review of the literature regarding the detection of COVID-19 in CT that uses deep learning to collaborate with a theoretical basis for future works.

The application of robots to replace manual work in live-line working scenes can effectively guarantee the safety of personnel. To improve the operation efficiency and reduce the difficulties in operating a live-line working robot, this paper proposes a multi-DOF robot motion planning method based on RRT and extended algorithms. The planning results of traditional RRT and extended algorithms are random, and obtaining sub-optimal results requires a lot of calculations. In this study, a sparse offline tree filling the planning space are generated offline through the growing–withering method. In the process of expanding the tree, by removing small branches, the tree can fully wiring in the planning space with a small number of nodes. Optimize wiring through a large number of offline calculations, which can improve the progressive optimality of the algorithm. Through dynamic sampling and pruning, the growth of trees in undesired areas is reduced and undesired planning results are avoided. Based on the offline tree, this article introduces the method of online motion planning. Experiments show that this method can quickly complete the robot motion planning and obtain efficient and low-uncertainty paths.

Abstract. In dissolution-dynamic nuclear polarization, a hyperpolarized solid is dissolved with a jet of hot solvent. The solution is then transferred to a secondary magnet, where spectra can be recorded with improved sensitivity. In bullet-dynamic nuclear polarization this order is reversed. Pressurized gas is used to rapidly transfer the hyperpolarized solid to the secondary magnet, and the hyperpolarized solid is dissolved only upon arrival. A potential advantage of this approach is that it may avoid excessive dilution and the associated signal loss, in particular for small sample quantities. Previously, we have shown that liquid-state NMR spectra with polarization levels of up to 30 % may be recorded within less than 1 s after the departure of the hyperpolarized solid from the polarizing magnet. The resolution of the recorded spectra however was limited. The system consumed significant amounts of liquid helium, and substantial manual work was required in between experiments to prepare for the next shot. Here, we present a new bullet-DNP (dynamic nuclear polarization) system that addresses these limitations.

Many studies concerning the precision manufacturing of freeform concrete panels have been conducted, however, this process remains labor intensive taking significant amounts of time and cost. In particular, the precision in the shape of the panels produced tends to be low because of the manual work involved in producing the curves of those panels. This study documents the development of mold production technologies that can be used to produce precise curved surfaces on the upper and lower parts of a mold for freeform concrete panels. A double-sided multipoint press CNC (computer numerical control) produces curved upper and lower surfaces of a mold without the need for manual work, while the operational technology we developed to control this tool enhances the precision of the curves created. The precision of these technologies was verified through experiments. The difference between the shapes designed and those produced were found using 3D scans and quality inspections. Unpredictable errors can occur due to the size of certain curvatures, the elasticity of the silicone plate, and the rotational angle of the joints of the rods supporting the surfaces. To minimize errors, shape compensation was carried out through reverse engineering, leading to a maximum error of 2.887 mm, which is within the allowable error. The results achieved in this study are a significant step toward technologies that will produce increasingly precise freeform concrete panels.

In the context of contrasting intellectual and manual work, we developed research to compare the turnover intentions from the organization among Human Resource Management (HRM) teachers and building construction workers. We applied the Behavioral Intentions to Stay in the Organization Scale (BISOS) and a sociodemographic form in 154 workers in Belo Horizonte, 77 teachers and 77 construction workers. We also applied semi-structured interviews to a small number of participants, exploring the participants’ arguments about these intentions. Among the teachers, there was a predominance of the intention to leave, whilst among the construction workers, the intention to stay. The difference between the distributions was statistically significant. We identified, however, a fragility of bonds with the organization for both occupational groups. On the one hand, the turnover intentions and the justifying arguments in their similarities and differences did not corroborate the expected polarization between intellectual and manual work. On the other hand, we can understand them as simultaneously reflecting the country’s current economic scenario and the educational profile of the two groups, in which construction workers have fewer options for reinsertion into the market, while teachers’ training enables other insertions into the market and/or having more than one job.

Abstract It is of great significance to improve the mechanization level and construction quality of tunnel construction. At present, large cross-section tunnels are emerging in China. The construction method based on manual work and supplemented by a machinery has long construction period, high labor intensity, and structural quality that cannot be guaranteed. To address those issues, this paper proposes the construction method of bolting-grouting integrated operation for an unmanned arch erection to achieve the rapid and safe construction of large section tunnels and reducing the amount of manual work. This paper mainly introduces the bolting-grouting integrated operation trolley, which can achieve the automatic installation of steel arch, the construction of locking anchor pipe, and shotcrete. Besides, this paper designs a new type of steel arch and an alternative way of longitudinal connecting reinforcement of steel arch. Moreover, with the field test and optimization adjustment of the Xinwushaoling tunnel, it is found that the construction method of bolting-grouting integrated operation for unmanned arch erection can overcome some disadvantages of traditional construction methods.
