This study aims to determine the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that influence students' motivation to complete their thesis by using self-efficacy variables, the need for achievement, campus environment, and lecturer learning methods to the motivation to complete their thesis at the Indonesian College of Economics. This research method is a questionnaire survey method. The population in this study were morning regular students and evening regular students of the Indonesian College of Economics who graduated in 2019 by 311 people and the study sample was 164 people. The analysis used is SEM- PLS and SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study indicate 3 variables that affect regular morning students: (1) Self-efficacy affects the motivation to complete a thesis of 29.1%. (2) The need for achievement influences the motivation to complete the thesis by 31.9%. (3) Campus environment towards motivation to complete the thesis is 37.5%. And there are 2 variables that affect regular night students: (1) The need for achievement influences the motivation to complete the thesis by 55.5%. (2) The campus environment influences the motivation to complete the thesis by 40.3%.

In this study, we explored the relationship among mentoring functions (MFs), direct supervisor need for achievement (DSNFA), and employee organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) from the perspective of conservation of resources (COR) theory. A sample of 242 dyads was selected from new employees and direct supervisors employed in four- and five-star hotels in Taiwan. The results revealed that MFs and DSNFA were positively related to new-employee OCB. However, DSNFA negatively moderated the relationship between MFs and new-employee OCB. That is, low DSNFA positively moderated the relationship between MFs and OCB more than high DSNFA did. The results were explained using COR theory, which states that the development of positive personality traits is limited to in specific circumstances. Organizations in the hospitality industry that emphasize on OCB should examine their human resource activities to optimize performance.

Everyone has the same opportunity to succeed by setting up a business. Through entrepreneurial intentions, it is hoped that someone can develop their potential to open a business. This study aims to determine whether entrepreneurial intentions can be influenced by entrepreneurship education, the need for achievement, creativity, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy in students of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Malang because entrepreneurial intentions are an important factor that can make someone want to set up a business.. This research is a quantitative approach using path analysis. The results showed that entrepreneurial intentions can be influenced by entrepreneurship education, achievement needs, creativity, and self-efficacy. In addition, entrepreneurial self-efficacy can act as a mediation between entrepreneurship education, achievement needs, creativity to entrepreneurial intentions.

PurposeThe present study undertook an empirical investigation of entrepreneurship education, self-efficacy, need for achievement and entrepreneurial intention among Pakistan's commerce students.Design/methodology/approachThe authors applied quantitative methods based on cross-sectional data. The commerce students of the different public sector universities are targeted through a random sampling technique. The authors used a survey questionnaire to attain the responses from respondents. Finally, 184 usable cases are utilized to assume the hypothesized paths.FindingsBy applying the structural equation modeling (SEM), the findings of the study demonstrate a significant positive effect of constructs of entrepreneurship education (EE), that is, opportunity recognition (OR) and entrepreneurship knowledge acquisition (EKA) on entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE), entrepreneurial intention (EI) and need for achievement (NFA). Besides, ESE and NFA are found to be the robust predictors of EI.Practical implicationsThe findings provide significant guidelines to policy-makers and university authorities for developing useful EE courses to uplift and boost students' skills to face today's considerable business and entrepreneurship challenges. The study also helps to generate eagerness among students in selecting entrepreneurship as a career option.Originality/valueThis study suggests the confirmation of EE's significant role in developing ESE, NFA and EI among commerce students.

Abstract: The research aims at describing the pattern of children social behavior in Upin and Ipin cartoons. This type of research is descriptive qualitative because the data source obtained from dialogue in the form of conversations by Upin, Ipin and friends in episode Our Story part 1 season 5, Beautiful of Syawal part 1-2 season 10, A Sincere of Heart part 1-2 season 5and Need for Achievement spart 1-3 season 12. The instruments used to collect the data are observation, documentation and the researcher herself as the key instrument. The data analyzed qualitatively. The result indicated that there children social behavior pattern found in each of the upin and ipin cartoons, those are cooperation, kind heart, care, help for others and fairness. Upin and Ipin's cartoon can be used as a means of cultivating social behavior patterns because these episodes contain good behavior to be imitated by the children. The development of social behavior patterns needs to be educated since early age so that this does not cause any difficulties in the future. Key words: Upin Ipin Cartoon, Social Behavior, Children

<p>The purpose of this research is to explore entrepreneurial motivation and its relationship to change. It does this through providing insight into what entrepreneurial motivation is, and how it is affected by change. An interpretative phenomenological approach is taken in the exploration of the nature of entrepreneurial motivation and change, in order to understand the phenomena in terms of the lived experience of seven entrepreneurs from New Zealand. The key finding in this research was that entrepreneurial motivation is an internal drive that provides entrepreneurs with the energy to deal with obstacles and push forward in an effort to satisfy their need for achievement. Some insights into the nature of entrepreneurial motivation across changing contexts are provided. An improved understanding of what entrepreneurial motivation is and how it is affected by change provides implications for both practitioners and scholars. This provides value in terms of predicting individual propensity and viability of entrepreneurship.</p>

Purpose Drawing from the conservation of resources (COR) theory, this paper aims to examine the interaction among high-performance work systems (HPWS), growth mindset and need for achievement to explain burnout among employees. Design/methodology/approach The authors used SPSS PROCESS to test the research model on a sample of 341 employees from the manufacturing sector. The authors followed random sampling process to select organizations and employees within the organization. Findings The findings reveal a positive relationship between HPWS and job burnout. The study also confirms the interactive effect of HPWS, growth mindset and the need for achievement on burnout. Research limitations/implications The study explains the boundary conditions of HPWS and resolves the discrepancy associated with the negative effect of HPWS on employees. The results both confirm and expand the COR theory. Originality/value This is the first study to reveal the role of individual characteristics in understanding the positive relationship between HPWS and burnout. The study points out that the belief system and how need for achievement influence resource conservation strategies.

PurposeThe intent to start an entrepreneurial venture is predisposed by certain personality traits. The study aims to analyze the impact of various identified personality traits and entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intentions of management students.Design/methodology/approachThe data for the study were gathered from 440 students of top 5 management institutes in India. The study used a cross-sectional design and structured questionnaire based on seven-point Likert scale and was administered employing a purposive sampling method. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was utilized to validate posited hypotheses in the study.FindingsThe study discerns that apart from agreeableness dimension of personality traits, all remaining identified dimensions along with entrepreneurial education had a significant influence on entrepreneurial intentions of management students with need for achievement emerging as the most important enabler. Conscientiousness was the major dimension among big five personality traits bearing a positive influence, while neuroticism registered a negative impact on entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, results bespeak that entrepreneurial education partially mediates the effect of need for achievement, locus of control and innovativeness on entrepreneurial intentions.Research limitations/implicationsThe compendious model proffered in the study might be helpful for students, educators, consultants, financial institutions and policymakers in appreciating the gravity of underlying personality traits.Originality/valueThere is a dearth of research on big five personality traits and entrepreneurial education as enablers of entrepreneurial intentions. The study attempts to integrate big five personality traits model with dimensions of need for achievement, locus of control, innovativeness and entrepreneurial education for management students in India.
