The 26/11 Mumbai attacks in India severely impacted the already strained Indo–Pak political relations and fuelled prejudice against the common people of Pakistan. Since the attacks, Indian people have found various expressions of collective memory and ways to commemorate the incident. While these serve as a remembrance of the attack, it also reinforces negative attitudes towards Pakistan and its people, hindering any prospects of peace and reconciliation. This article describes a peace education through art initiative implemented in a high school in Mumbai. It draws from a synergy of theoretical concepts in peace, reconciliation and conflict transformation for its curricular framework that has three inquiry processes: Examine–Envision–Envisage. This article describes the implementation and outcomes of the initiative that support the value of an integrated peace- and reconciliation-focused art education pedagogy aimed at promoting reconciliation in relation to ongoing/intractable conflicts. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of addressing negative emotions inherent in ongoing conflicts and how empathy might contribute towards reducing prejudice towards the ‘Other’.

There is a strong coordinated effort by vaccination groups all over the world to put an end to the current crisis of COVID-19. The Mass vaccination first started in the UK on 8th December 2020 and soon afterward covered all of the globe. Now sufficient data are available to analyse and compare some results to explore many aftereffects of vaccination. Some influence variables on transmissions of the disease were discussed e.g., mass vaccination, lockdown and seasonality. To address seasonality, similarities between COVID-19 and seasonal Flu are discussed to gain useful insight. Like Flu, seasonality was shown to play a dominant role in transmissions of COVID-19 in the Eu-rope and US. In terms of mass vaccination, adverse reactions after vaccination received attention, as health and safety issues of the general public are of prime importance. Apart from direct side effects, the secondary effect of mass vaccination needs attention too. After the initiation of vaccination programme , almost all countries experienced a sudden surge of transmission and most countries had to impose strict lockdown measures. Many countries, those showed a low prevalence of the disease, suddenly showed a steep jump after the onset of mass vaccination. Some countries even followed a synchronized pattern between the rate of transmissions and the variation of vaccine doses; the pattern seemed distinct with the sudden steep rise/fall in vaccine doses (e.g., countries India, Indonesia among others). In that context, fast mutation of the virus and new variants after mass vaccination and possible mechanisms/consequences were discussed. Balanced discussion, critical and open analyses are desperately needed in the current crucial stage. Debating, questioning and criticism are always the foundation of good science and the main pillars to its progress. Following that objective, it is an effort to explore pragmatically, areas relating to the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine and the exit strategy via the pathway of vaccination. Policymakers, academics, patients and common people will be greatly benefitted from such critical, transparent and balanced analyses.

This article traces the transformation of Huế from an open migrant society to a closed community from the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries through an examination of the village documents of Thanh Phước in Thừa Thiên Huế province. In Thanh Phước, the expansion of cultivated land reached its limits around the end of the seventeenth century. Subsequently, continuous population pressure resulted in the emergence of social groups with closed and fixed membership called làng and dòng họ after the eighteenth century. A significant feature of this social development was that the patrilineal kinship favoured by Confucianism was used to protect the vested interests of the earliest inhabitants of the village and their descendants. This indicates that the penetration of Confucianism among the common people and the development and stagnation of agriculture in early modern Vietnam were mutual, complementary phenomena.

People try to control and dominate their environment or are dominated by it. This is related to how they try to handle their existence. Personal, individual life is very important in cultures where self-control is common. People are convinced that they can control nature by imposing their will. In cultures characterized by outer control, nature is considered much stronger than the individual. People see themselves as part of nature and want to live in harmony with nature. People believe that they cannot determine their own destiny, as it is influenced by external circumstances.

Abstract This paper introduces scholars of Greek political thought to the continued existence of the phenomenon of demagoguery, or ‘(mis-)leadership of the people’, in the Hellenistic period. After summarizing Classical elite discourse about demagoguery, I explore three areas in which political leaders continued to run afoul of elite norms in Hellenistic democratic poleis: 1) political persecution of the wealthier members of a political community; 2) ‘pandering to’ the people in a way considered infra dignitatem; and 3) stoking bellicosity among the common people. I show that considerable continuities link the Classical and Hellenistic periods and that demagoguery should be approached as a potential window onto ‘popular culture’ in Greek antiquity.

Plant detection forms an integral part of the life of the forest guards, researchers, and students in the field of Botany and for common people also who are curious about knowing a plant. But detecting plants suffer a major drawback that the true identifier is only the flower and in certain species flowering occurs at major time period gaps spanning from few months to over 100 years (in certain types of bamboos). Machine Learning-based systems could be used in developing models where the experience of researchers in the field of plant sciences can be incorporated into the model. In this paper, we present a machine learning-based approach based upon other quantifiable parameters for the detection of the plant presented. The system takes plant parameters as the inputs and will detect the plant family as the output.

India is a country of growing population and agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about 58 per cent of Indians population. The Indian food industry is poised for huge growth, increasing its contribution to world food trade every year due to its immense potential for value addition, particularly within the food processing industry. Government of India is giving more priority for welfare of the farmers. In this regard it is implementing several welfare schemes to provide financial support to farmers. Various schemes were introduced by the government, but the benefits of these schemes do not reach to the common people in our case farmers due to corruption happening at the middleware. Hence there is need of a reliable, authorized and secured system to maintain and manage these transactional records. This is where blockchain comes into picture. One of the aims of our system is to ensure that the amount transferred by the authority to a particular farmer, reaches to him/her without any corruption and system manipulation using the features of blockchain and cryptography.

The fact that always be considered is the contemplation of internal feelings of every practiced Muslim to please Almighty Allah. It occurs via observing and following His commands and orders through prescribed manner of the Messenger Muhammad Peace Be upon Him, but sometimes it becomes so complex and multipart to identify the right step of actions, streamline with shariah standards even difficult to recognize the difference between preferred and Non-preferred, lawful and prohibited. So among these situations, second congregational prayed in one masjid, an issue faced by common people. The classical literature is the witness of unanimous ruling in two situations of second congregational prayer; i.e. congregation (Jama’at) in the Masjid and congregation in public places. The third situation requires little deep understanding to know the actual ruling of shariah, which is congregation (Jama’at) in the same Masjid but appointed Imam performs original Jama’at. Different scholars have presented different opinions. This paper emphasis on the third situation where the detailed discussion has been made in the light of the mentioned book in the title to draw the neat and clear line of action for the practiced Muslim along with the provision of different narrations and Shariah rulings in order to interpret the reality and to avoid all sort of confusions.

Kangaroo mother care is an apparatus that provides closed and controlled environmental for the preterm babies. A Preterm birth is commonly defined as any birth base 37 weeks completed weeks of gestation period. This paper deals with cost effective design of incubator that monitors parameters like pulse rate, temperature, humidity, child security and the readings will be continuously displayed In the LED screen and also monitoring the details to the corresponding doctor, nurse and parents by using GSM. The power failure problem is also eliminated by using solar panel. We also intimate the parents about feeding time, dressing time, ear check, eye check. But many of the existing system does not mentioned about above problem and have adopted only with humidity and temperature and also by manual control. So the main objective of this research is to overcome drawbacks and provide eco friendly service to all common people.
