   This research, is entitled (Speech Act Analysis for Head movement and gesture) this study is an attempt to analyze movement and gestures one of the parts of the humans body, which is Head, depending on the conditions and rules of the Speech Acts theory. The research consists of the introduction and two parts as follows:The first part: This part is devoted to the Speech Act theory, highlighting the history of the theory and the diagnosis of its most important features, with a number of classifications for main parts of this theory.The second part: This part is a practical part, which includes a number of movement or Head gestures. We analyzed the gesture or movement according to the theory of Speech Acts and applied the theory to all Head movement with specify the goals of each movement and head gesture.And the search ended with the most important results, with a list of sources.

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani addressed the United Nations General Assembly (henceforth UNGA) on September 25, 2008. In his address, he spoke about Iraqi legislative elections, long-term security concerns in the country and region, and called on the international community to authorize an international probe into attacks in Iraq which he said could not have been carried out without outside support. He said terrorist attacks that killed dozens of people, have reached the level of genocide and crimes against humanity. This paper aimed to highlight the speech acts used by President Jalal Talibani in this address using qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis. This paper also analyzed the direct and indirect speech acts employing the framework  of Austin and Searle. The findings revealed that his address includes a balanced use of direct and indirect speech acts while maximum use of representative acts is evident. The paper concludes that the speech act analysis highlights the informative and supportive nature of President Talabani as he was able to highlight the problems of the country and at the same time ensuring every possible effort and support for the sake of raising the country to international community standards.

Abstract  This research was to investigate speech acts of Borish Jonshon’s speech concern in the illocutionary act and the use of speech act analysis by Hymes (2014). The speech was held in Prime Minister’s office and Borish Johnson has used a national TV address at 8.30 p.m. The data of this research taken from the script and speech video of the U.K. Prime Minister named Borish Johnson on 23 March 2020 which talked about Covid-19. The research applied descriptive qualitative as a method and hold in Yule’s speech act theory. Based on the analysis, the researcher was found and analyze 222 utterances. Those are consist of, 36% representative, 33% declarative, 16% directive, 9% expressive, and 6% commissive. As the result was representative is the highest use of the illocutionary aspect found in this research. It can be seen that Borish Johnson hoped that his audiences would follow what he said to reduce the coronavirus disease - 19. Keywords:        Pragmatics, Speech Act, Covid-19

Advertising is a tool for creating communication and can promote goods or other products to everyone or what customers call using binding language. Every language uses good language to attract customers. The main purpose of advertising is the point of view to promote and promise an item.This study used qualitative research from several cosmetic advertisements. This ad uses 16 types of speech acts, and out of 16 types of speech acts, only 10 brands are taken from cosmetic advertisements to attract or invite products to buy. And advertising results from 10 cosmetic brands in Indonesia only got 7% speech statement, 30% information, 9% claim, 19% suggestion, 9% suggestion, 2% argument, 2% accusation, 2% referral, 16% directive, persuasion 2%, promise 2%. From this result that most cosmetic brands in Indonesia use information, to make it more interesting for buyers to find out more information than other advertisements.  Keyword :A speech act advertisement, cosmetic.

The evolution of social media has opened a new vista in digital communication across the world, Nigeria inclusive. Since the confirmation of the index case of Coronavirus in Nigeria, a lot of news on the subject which are largely considered by the World Health Organization to be false, had gone viral on the social media space. This study essentially examines some of those messages on WhatsApp that were circulated across Nigeria.  Five WhatsApp messages collected between March – June, 2020 were analysed using the framework of Austin’s Speech Acts with insights from the Conversational Maxims of Grice’s Cooperative Principles. The main objective of this analysis is to unravel the communicative effects of language. Findings show that the writers of those WhatsApp messages carefully manipulate some linguistic features to make such messages perform some illocutionary acts as well as trigger some perlocutionary moves in the minds of the readers. This buttresses the fact that language is used to achieve both linguistic and non linguistic aims.

People rarely know the function of the language used in the film. This study analyzes speech acts in a dialogue film entitled Merry Riana: Dreams of a Million Dollars. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data were analyzed from the form of speech acts consisting of direct and indirect speech acts in the form of declarative, imperative, and interrogative. The type of speech act analysis uses Searle's theory of representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declaration. The result of this research is that direct speech act in interrogative form is 43.63%. Direct speech acts in the declarative form are 95 (43.18%), direct speech acts in the imperative form are 24 (10.90%), indirect speech acts in the imperative form are 2 (0.9%), indirect speech acts in imperative form as much as 2 (0.9%). interrogative form is 2 (0.9%), and indirect speech act in declarative form is 1 (0.45%). Furthermore, 74 utterances are analyzed into five types of speech acts. The most dominant representative used 36 (48.6%). Then followed by directive 21 (28.3%), expressive 14 (18.9%), commissive 3 (4.0%), and declarative 0 (0.0%). This research implies that understanding speech acts plays an important role in communication.

The global resurgence of vaccine preventable diseases is garnering attention amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccination information debates in a Facebook group give participants access to second-hand knowledge conveying personal experiences. Through the lens of Speech Act Theory, this study analysed discourses on pro-and anti-vaccination perspectives along with views from vaccine hesitant groups. Analysis reveals significant criticism of behaviour around information. Findings indicate provision of substantiating information would play a crucial role in debate within divergent information contexts. Application of Speech Act Theory serves to inform participant communication more intimately and empowers their engagement in polarized discussion.
