Sport psychology has become widely applied in coaching practices to assist in athletic success. Despite the increased use, there is a lack of evidence-based sport psychology information available to coaches in the form of informal sources. The aim of this study was to conduct a pilot test to explore coaches’ perceptions and use of an evidence-based sport psychology website. Eight coaches participated in semi-structured interviews. Based on engagement, five of the coaches’ data was analyzed using thematic analysis on their experiences and revealed two main themes, website use and website enhancements. The remaining three coaches’ data was analyzed for their reasons for having limited engagement with the website and used to help identify ways it could be enhanced. In general, coaches perceived the website to be a reliable source that offered practical information (e.g. worksheets) that could be used directly with athletes, and was perceived as easy to navigate and to access information. There were, importantly, various improvements suggested for the website including delivery modality and guides for navigating the order for reading the information. This study offers evidence on the value of online resources in providing coaches with informal and evidence-based sport psychology learning opportunities, and also addresses a number of barriers to engagement as insight for website developers.

AbstractOnline social networks provide a forum where people make new connections, learn more about the world, get exposed to different points of view, and access information that were previously inaccessible. It is natural to assume that content-delivery algorithms in social networks should not only aim to maximize user engagement but also to offer opportunities for increasing connectivity and enabling social networks to achieve their full potential. Our motivation and aim is to develop methods that foster the creation of new connections, and subsequently, improve the flow of information in the network. To achieve our goal, we propose to leverage the strong triadic closure principle, and consider violations to this principle as opportunities for creating more social links. We formalize this idea as an algorithmic problem related to the densest k-subgraph problem. For this new problem, we establish hardness results and propose approximation algorithms. We identify two special cases of the problem that admit a constant-factor approximation. Finally, we experimentally evaluate our proposed algorithm on real-world social networks, and we additionally evaluate some simpler but more scalable algorithms.

Abstract Background Migrants in Norway bear a higher burden of COVID-19 infections and hospitalization as compared to non-migrants. The aim of our study was to understand how migrants perceive their own health risk, how they access information regarding the preventive measures, the degree of trust in this information, in the Norwegian authorities and the news media, and migrants’ adherence to authorities’ recommendations regarding the pandemic. Methods An online survey was performed between May and July 2020 among 529 Polish, Arabic, Somali, Tamil, and Spanish-speaking migrants in Norway. For each outcome presented in the aims, unweighted and weighted descriptive analyses were performed for all migrants together and for each language group. Results Sixty-one percent of migrants perceived their health as excellent or very good, with the lowest value (42%) in the Tamil group and the highest among Somalians (85%). The majority of respondents (82%) felt they had received sufficient information. Press conferences from the government, health authorities’ websites, and Norwegian news media were the preferred channels of information for all groups. Most migrants reported a high level of adherence to preventive measures (88%) and trust in Norwegian authorities (79%). However, there were variations among groups regarding the importance of sources of information and level of trust, which was lowest for the Polish group. Conclusion Migrants in Norway reported receiving sufficient information about COVID-19 and high adherence to preventive measures. However, the levels of trust in the information sources, the services and the authorities varied among the groups. Understanding how migrants are dealing with this pandemic is crucial to improve the dissemination of information and trust in the health authorities for the different groups.

Everyone needs information to support their activities, so try to access information as quickly as possible. To introduce products or services that will be sold, companies or small and medium-sized businesses need promotions, and the pattern in the field of business through Facebook or through a web-based shop is very encouraging. The creator utilizes an enlightening subjective examination approach where the information gathered is predominantly as words and sentences, or pictures that have more significance than numbers or frequencies. Execution of the utilization of Facebook web- based media incorporates building data methodologies, planning advancements and building networks by using gatherings and fanspages.

With the development of new communication technologies and the change and transformation of mobile applications, communication styles also acquire a different dimension. Currently, individuals can access information about many health-related issues easily and quickly. Mobile applications also provide support to individuals in this area anywhere at any time. However, awareness about mobile applications and their availability is important at this point. While the transformation in the technological field makes life easier for users, not everyone (young, old, disabled, etc.) enjoys the advantages equally. In this study, user-based usability testing will be carried out on the axis of E-nabız application with female users above 65 years selected according to certain criteria. The E-nabız application is a platform for all citizens registered to the E-devlet system to access health information. In this context, besides pointing out the accessibility problems of the application, possible solutions will also be offered.

As COVID-19 swept the globe, it transformed the way people access information. This has been both challenging and metamorphic for libraries worldwide, particularly those serving indigenous people. Indigenous education has been severely impacted by the pandemic. When the pandemic swept the globe and many countries went into “lockdown,” users were not allowed to visit the physical facilities of libraries and the collections become inaccessible. This chapter is a case study about the adjustment of collection strategies to serve the needs of students in an indigenous studies program during the pandemic. This chapter aims to capture the challenges encountered at a regional-focused collection, the impacts to an indigenous studies program, the adjusting collection strategies to meet the needs of the program, and key lessons learned. The selected case is a regional-focused collection in a research library on Guam.

Libraries provide services for anyone, regardless of their social or economic interests, so that they have a non-discriminatory nature in providing good services in the library. Rural library into the container provision of reading materials as a source of education and community empowerment. Facing COVID-19 is not easy. It becomes a challenge for community to stay active and productive. Social inclusion has been introduced in many public libraries in Indonesia. Through this social inclusion, the library wants to further improve the welfare of community, especially in the rural areas. This chapter discusses the conceptualization of information for development which accommodates the concepts of advancement of literacy and development information for the community. The purpose of this service is to be able to provide services to rural communities so that it is easier to access information.

The increase in rates of habitat loss requires an understanding of how biodiversity is distributed. Campo rupestre is an old, climatically buffered, and infertile landscape located in Brazil. Considered a biodiversity hotspot, the campo rupestre is mainly threatened by mining activity that requires a large operating area. Campo rupestre is known for its restricted distribution area and high abiotic heterogeneity, which modulates species coexistence and richness. To recognise the association between habitat type and plant communities, we propose to describe the floristic composition of herbaceous and shrub components in four habitats of the campo rupestre comprising quartzite and ferruginous substrate. We classified habitat types by the main surface soil features. In each habitat, we sampled ten 100-m2 plots to access information on the shrub and ten 1-m2 plots for the herbaceous component. Altogether we sampled 153 species, belonging to 38 families. The cluster analysis ordered by Sorensen metric indicates a clear distinction of species composition in the shrub component in the four habitats. However, the floristic composition of the herbaceous component was similar between the four habitats but showed a distinction when contrasting with the substrate type. Our results highlight the local taxonomic distinction between habitat types and substrates, indicating that the ecological distinction among substrate types of the campo rupestre cannot be overlooked in conservation and restoration actions.
