The objective of this research is to find out whether there is positive effect of applying Youtube videos on the Grade XI students’ writing skill of Senior High School. The instrument used in this research was writing test about narrative text based on Youtube videos. The test was conducted after the two groups got treatment for 6 meetings. The test is carried out to find out whether students who were taught by using Youtube videos get better writing skill than students who are not taught by using Youtube videos. Data analysis of this research was tested by using t-test in order to find out whether the research hypothesis was accepted or not. Based on the calculation, the t-ratio is 2,998. It was consulted with t-table on the significant level (α) of 5% and the degree of freedom (df) was 38. The t-table obtained was 1,686. It proves that t-ratio is higher than t-table (2,998>1,686), so the hypothesis of the research is accepted. Furthermore, the conclusion of this research is that Youtube videos give positive effect on the writing skill to teach writing to the students who are taught by using Youtube videos. It is suggested for the teacher to apply Youtube videos in the teaching writing. It can be used to solve the students’ difficulties in writing narrative text. Therefore, they can improve students’ writing skill.

This study investigates students’ causes of students’ difficulties, kinds of students’ difficulties, and the most dominant problem in writing recount text written by ten students at a Senior High School in Indramayu, West Java. This study employed a qualitative research design, embracing characteristics of a case study. The data were obtained from collection of samples of students’ recount texts. The findings revealed that most students have been able to implement the schematic structures and linguistic features of argumen texts, which indicates the ability of students to write the texts and to achieve its purpose. However, some students found difficulties in terms of the use of tenses, the use of vocabulary, and the use of specific participants. Based on the analysis of students’ writing, it was found some causes that made students did some mistakes in writing recount texts. Based on these findings, it is recommended that explicit teaching be needed to develop students’ writing skills.

Indriyani et al, (2013) stated that many students had dificulty in understanding the generic structure of analytical exposition text. Therefore, the present study tried to investigate the correlation between students understanding in writing generic structure of analytical exposition and the quality of students’ writing in second grade of senior hight school. Grounded in explanatory correlational research design by Creswell (2011), this study conducted over two weeks in one of senior high school in Indramayu. Close-ended questionnaire and writing test were instruments to collect the data and it was analyzed  by using SPSS 22. The statistical calculation from students understanding in writing generic stucture of the text and writing test indicated that the value of tcount was 3.23 and the value of ttable was 0.361. It can be concluded that the hypothesis was accepted because tcount 3.23 > ttable 0.361. The finding reveal that there was middle correlation or middle prediction in students understanding of generic structure of analytical exposition and students writing quality with the score 0,52.

Communicative  Language  Teaching  (CLT)  is  a  way  to  deal  with  the  educating  of  second  and  unknown  dialects  that  emphasis  on  cooperation  as  both  the  methods  and  the  last  objective  of  learning  a  language.  Targets  are  (1)  to  discover  Effectiveness  of  CLT  Approach  in  Improving  Speaking  Ability.  (2)  huge  contrasts  between  students  who  are  instructed  by  CLT  and   not.  Quantitative  research  is  a  true  design  experiment.  Design  used  was  a  pretest-posttest  control  group  design.  Population  is  eighth  grader  students  in  Junior  High  School  1  Tegal.  Research  uses  cluster  random  sampling  with  two  group  design  (experiment  group  and  control  group).  Data  was  broke  down  utilizing  a  t-test,  score  of  the  t-test  is  2.744.  Score  of  t-table  is  at  5%  level  importance  and  on  level  of  62  is  1.670,  t-test  result  is  higher  than  t-table  (2.744>1.670).  t-test  hypothesis  is  rejected,  and  t-table  hypothesis  is  accepted.  CLT  improve  speaking  capability.

The purpose of this study is to obtain descriptive information about the problems and problem solving in learning listening comprehension. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative research and investigates the students’ problems in listening comprehension at the fourth semester and the steps to overcome their problems. There are 23 students at the fourth semester of English Education Study Program Peradaban University in the academic year 2018/2019 as the sample. In collecting the data, the researcher uses questionnaire and interview as the instruments.The researcher finds the most problems faced by the fourth studentsare lack of concentration, native speaker speaking speed, unfamiliar words, and lack of effort to understand each word.The solution offeredto solve those problems are focus and concentrate while listening class, concentrate on what is heard, and write things that are important when listening to material spoken by native speaker; find the meanings of unfamiliar words, look at the dictionary to find out difficult words, check words that are not clearly heard in dictionary, memorize vocabulary, and read English text and listen to English audio; and familiarize the students with the rulers of pronunciation in order to help them hear the different forms of rapid natural speech and ask them to imitate native speakers’ pronunciation. It concludes that learning information about the problems and problem solving at the fourth semester are because of the fact that their learning outcomes are still far from being standard. Therefore, problem solving in listening comprehension learning is expected to minimize the problems faced by students of the fourth semester of English Education Study Program Peradaban University in learning process so that they get satisfying learning outcomes.

This research is a research and development (R & D) study. The procedures in conducting this research were held in some activities involving the lecturer and the students of Sharia Banking study program. Some activities will also involve some experts in certain fields, i.e. English materials expert and Sharia Banking expert. The objectives of this research study are: (1) to identify the needs in conducting a matriculation program for Sharia Banking study program which are developed; (2) to design the materials for Sharia Banking study program in accordance to the implementation of a matriculation program. Based on the findings on the needs, the matriculation program covers materials such as grammar review, and the four macro skills review. The materials provide relevant reviews which enable to show the competency of each students. In terms of the goal, it helps the students to accelerate their level to the required level to start the new semester. From research result, the average normalized gain shows up 0, 47 meaning that the design for matriculation program has an average effectiveness and can describe the competence level of Sharia Banking study program students. At last, this reference will be able to help in designing a matriculation program for Sharia Banking study program.

The aimed of this study was to analyze the effect of lecturer’s competencies and learning environment on students’ motivation in learning English. This study used a verification method which used explanatory survey and correlation analysis with saturation sampling technique.  The population of the study was the students of the social and political faculty at Universitas Pancasakti Tegal which amounts to 91 students. Primary data collection was done through the questionnaire which was distributed to respondents in this study. Data was analyzed through descriptive analysis, classical assumption test, and multiple regressions. The result of the simultaneous test indicated there was the significant effect of lecturer’s competence, learning environment and student’s motivation in learning English. Lecturer’s competence according to respondents was high, but the lecturers should always improve their pedagogic, personality, social and professional competencies. The university should provide a conducive learning environment and adequate teaching and learning facilities.

Guiding is a branch of oral communication. In oral communication, guiding can be included as productive skill. English guiding is one of the academic lessons in the fourth semester. Being a tour guide is a very important job in tourism part. In many cases, the tour guide is a traveller's first impression of a foreign country. In other cases a tour guide may be responsible for teaching tourists about the culture and sites in a city or town. Improving students’ communicative skill is the goal of teaching English guiding, because the student can express themselves and know how to use language well. In the real situation in teaching guide process, lecturer cannot escape from reality. It occurs because there are some problems faced by the lecture and the student. The lecturer cannot make student pay attention; make the students’ lack of creativity in making interactive guiding topics, and engagement in whole teaching learning process. This research applied photovoice as a technique to increase the student’s ability in speaking English guiding. Photovoice is suitable technique in teaching speaking skill in English guiding because it gives student chance to communicate with different context and different social by photo as a learning media. This reviews were taken from Beverly Palibroda (2009) Photovoice implementation and Speaking Assessment from Brown Lavinson (2004). This research was conducted by three cycles such as: pre-test, cycle I and cycle II. In composing this research the writer used qualitative descriptive method by classroom action research (CAR).             The result of this research showed that the mean score in pre-test before implementing Photovoice clearly showed that the ability of the subject under study was relatively “ fairly satisfactory ” in the level of mastery of speaking rubric. There were increasing in cycle I after implementing Photovoice technique. The result of the data analysis of the reflection score in cycle I showed increasing the mean score of 7.11 It was higher than the result of pre-test. In the cycle II, which the treatment was more intensive in order of weakness of the students had been known. The result of the data anaysis of reflection or post-test in cycle II that the mean score was 8.18. The different between mean score in cycle I and II was 1.07. It showed that the student’s speaking guiding ability improved after the researcher applied the photovoice thecnique to the students.

English is an International language which is used by so many people to interact with people from other countries. Good English ability is needed by students to support learning process and working after the students graduate from university. Grammar is a point of language. By knowing and understanding correct grammar, so, their English is better. The aim of this research was to give proposal of English learning to improve students' grammar ability. The method used was students’ center learning using presentation in the class. The materials were simple present and perfect, future simple tense, modal, comparative, and passive voice. This research was conducted on 33 students in ITATS. The result of this research was 87% of students got to increase score for post-test and 30% of students passed the score. Thus, students’ center learning method was effective to increase students' grammar ability.

This research was done to see students’ TOEFL score especially for fifth semester of Politeknik Harapan Bersama Tegal majoring Mechanical Engineering. Descriptive design using quantitative approach was chosen by the researcher. The sample is 45 students of Mechanical Engineering Study Program. The TOEFL test was used as research instrument. Descriptive statistics was used as data analysis technique, mean and percentage. The result of this research showed that student obtained problems in getting a TOEFL score with an average score 424 which was still at the basic proficiency category. The researcher found that the highest problem received by the students is listening section where student obtained correct answers only 23.7%. The students obtained the lowest score is in the short conversation with the percentage 31.27%. Then the structure and written expression, students obtained average score lowest in structure with a percentage 30.6%.
