Studies of the determination of Ag, Be, Cd, Zn, Cu, Fe, Cr, and Al in the presence of uranium(VI) by optical emission spectroscopy with an inductively coupled argon plasma source and electrothermal vaporization of 10-μl solution samples using a graphite rod are described.

The MICAP is a microwave driven plasma source employing nitrogen as the plasma gas. In this work we compare LODs and LOQs obtained in axial viewing with those obtained by ICP-OES and evaluate the effect of air instead of nitrogen as the plasma gas.
