Have been developed a scheme of enrichment (benification) of magnetite iron-ore concentrates with total content of Fet = 31% in ore at magnetic separator and obtained a superconcentrate with Fet = 69,50%. Experimentally determined that the reduction reaction degree of Fe by coal increases linearly with increasing of the content of Fe in concentrate. Certainly it has positive influence of decreasing the content of more difficult for reduction and poor magnetic iron containing components in the processing of wet magnetic separation (WMS). Almost all iron are in the form of good to reduce magnetite in the superconcentrates and enrichment of concentrate accompanying with growth of specific surface.

Nowadays, steel industry develops rapidly. However, lots of iron ore needed by China’s steel industry are imported from abroad. China’s dependence on foreign iron ore exceeds 70%. As a result, not only have large amounts of foreign currencies been spent but also a potential threat has been posed to the economic development of our country. Therefore, it is necessary for China to serve its economic production with lots of low grade iron ore. Since traditional beneficiation methods can cause serious environmental problems, High gradient magnetic separation(HGMS) is discussed in this paper. It can recycle tailings when disposing of low grade iron ore as well as solve the environmental problems caused by tailings and arising during the production process. Besides, high gradient magnetic separator can also raise the processing efficiency of low grade iron core. Therefore, high-gradient magnetic separation can not only increase economic returns but also protect ecological environment. With the maturity of super-conduction high gradient magnetic separation technology, super-conducting high gradient magnetic separation will produce better production effects.

Upgradation techniques like wet sieving and magnetic separation were used to evaluate the beneficiation potential of manganese ore. During wet sieving, manganese content in raw ore was upgraded from 27% to a maximum value of 38% in the concentrate with a recovery of 30%. Size classification was found to have no measurable effect on manganese grade in magnetic separation. In the unsieved ground ore, manganese content of 45% was achieved with a recovery of 23% and Mn/Fe ratio of 19% at a magnetic intensity of 8500 Gauss. At the same operating conditions, SiO2 was reduced from 56% in the raw ore to 30% in the magnetic fraction. So, wet sieving technique leads to a comparatively lower manganese grade but better recovery. Conversely, a magnetic separation technique produced higher manganese grade but relatively lower recovery. Blending of the upgraded manganese ore with high grade iron ore can be done to achieve the required Mn/Fe ratio.

Test was made on separating iron from a ultra-low-grade vanadium titanium magnetite ore by a process of tailing discarding at a coarser size, staged grinding and staged low intensity magnetic separation. The results show that when the raw ore is treated by permanent dry magnetic separator with low intensity magnetic separation at 12~0 mm size, qualified tailings of about 20% yield can be discarded. The coarse concentrate is grounded in two stages. With the first stage grinding size being 45% -200 mesh and the second stage,75% -200 mesh, and then treated by two stage low intensity magnetic separation. As a result,an iron concentrate with a TFe grade of 65.80%and an iron recovery of 47.74%can be achieved.

This study, focused on the beneficiation of a Nigerian complex chromite ore sourced from Tunga-Kaduka, Anka Local Government of Zamfara State, Nigeria, assaying 45.85% Cr2O4 and 54.15% mineral impurities, was enriched concurrently through sink floatation and magnetic separation techniques. The chromite ore initially analyzed to contain silicate impurities was found not suitable for metallurgical purposes. Thus, enrichment was examined through gravity separation studies using organic liquid with different specific gravities at 2.8, 3.3, and 4.0. The separation of chromite ore with lowest particle size fraction was done using Mozley mineral separator followed by the magnetic separation of the sink product by magnetic separator. The results obtained revealed about 77% of the total material containing 300 μm particle size, 52% ˂ 212 μm and 17% below 75 μm. Subsequent analysis of the beneficiated ore was carried out by wet chemical analysis and atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results showed that Cr2O4 content increased to 78.34% from initial 45.83% with maximum Cr:Fe ratio of 3.2:1, representing 84.27% of chromium metal present in the ore. The enrichment of Cr2O4 obtained in this study could be found metallurgically applicable in the electro-deposition and ferro-chromium alloy production practices.

Amorphous alloys have emerged as important materials for precision machinery, energy conversion, information processing, and aerospace components. This is due to their unique structure and excellent properties, including superior strength, high elasticity, and excellent corrosion resistance, which have attracted the attention of many researchers. However, the size of the amorphous alloy components remains limited, which affects industrial applications. Significant developments in connection with this technology are urgently needed. Laser welding represents an efficient welding method that uses a laser beam with high energy-density for heating. Laser welding has gradually become a research hotspot as a joining method for amorphous alloys due to its fast heating and cooling rates. In this compact review, the current status of research into amorphous-alloy laser welding technology is discussed, the influence of technological parameters and other welding conditions on welding quality is analyzed, and an outlook on future research and development is provided. This paper can serve as a useful reference for both fundamental research and engineering applications in this field.

Abstract The article considers the method for controlling the ferromagnetic component content in slurry flow by ultrasonic and magnetic measurements. One of the basic factors determining the efficiency of magnetic separators at iron ore concentration plants is the quality of distribution of the ground ore into the product containing the ferromagnetic component and the waste rock. Due to the fact that in most cases, magnetic separators extract minerals with strongly magnetic properties, it is essential to find the magnetic component content in the input ore and products of its distribution in order to improve control over the technological process. Currently, low accuracy and reliability make existing means of operative control over the ferromagnetic component content in the slurry flow inefficient. Density of slurry is one of the primary disturbing factors affecting the accuracy of measurements, and this fact determines the necessity of measuring this parameter while controlling the ferromagnetic component content. Combined methods of measurements are a promising trend in designing sensors of useful component content in the slurry flow. The article describes the method for controlling the ferromagnetic component content in slurry flow by ultrasonic and magnetic measurements.

The improvement of the technical equipment effectiveness is currently becoming particularly important. This applies not only to large and high-energy-intensive machines, but also to household appliances, the total energy consumption of which often exceeds the energy consumption of the overall equipment. These types of devices include, in particular, grinding and cutting equipment. The mathematical description of the processes carried out on this equipment is generalized and can be extended to a wider class of machines, including waste processing and mining equipment. The technological parameters, the design of screw grinders, and the processes of movement, deformation, extrusion and cutting carried out in them are characterized by a significant number of factors affecting the energy intensity. The main ones are the geometric parameters of the screw, machine’s body, cross knife, grinding plate’s thickness, the number and diameter of holes in it, as well as the product’s physical-mechanical characteristics and operating conditions. The most important for the mathematical description are the zones and processes where the main share of the consumed power is spent. The complexity of their analytical description is due to a simplified consideration of either individual technological zones of grinders’ existing designs, or the use of unreasonable simplifications.
