I present high-order calculations, including soft-gluon corrections, for single-top and top-antitop production cross sections and differential distributions. For single-top production, results are presented for the three different channels in the Standard Model, for associated production with a charged Higgs, and for processes involving anomalous couplings. For top-antitop pair production, total cross sections and top-quark transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions are presented for various LHC energies.

We study the single top production in association with a Higgs boson in theU(1)B-Lextension of the Standard Model at the LHC. We calculate the production cross sections of the processespp→thX  (h=H1,H2;  X=j,b,W)in this model. We further study the observability of the processpp→tH2jthroughpp→t(→qq-′b)H2(→4l)jand find that it is still challenging for the 14 TeV LHC with high luminosity to detect this signal.

The combination of the latest and most precise measurements of several top quark properties is presented in this paper in order to establish allowed regions on anomalous contributions to the Lorentz structure of the Wtb vertex. These measurements include single top production cross-sections, W boson helicity fractions and forward–backward asymmetries, both at Tevatron and at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), up to a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The results obtained at 95% Confidence Level (CL) for the top quark anomalous couplings are compared with the limits extracted from a combination that includes the expected measurements at the future High-Luminosity run of the LHC.

I present theoretical calculations for Higgs-boson and top-quark production, including high-order soft-gluon corrections. I discuss charged-Higgs production in association with a top quark or a W boson, as well as single-top and top-antitop production. Total cross sections as well as transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions of the top quark or the Higgs boson are presented for various LHC energies.

The left–right twin Higgs (LRTH) model predicts the existence of the charged Higgs ϕ±. In this paper, we study the production of the charged Higgs boson ϕ- with single top quark via the process bg → tϕ- at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The numerical results show that the production cross-section can reach the level of 10 pb in the reasonable parameter space of the LRTH model. We expect that, as long as it is not too heavy, the possible signatures of the heavy charged Higgs boson ϕ-> might be detected via the decay mode [Formula: see text] at the LHC experiments.

I review calculations of soft-gluon corrections for top-quark production in hadron collisions. I describe theoretical formalisms for their resummation and for finite-order expansions. I show that soft-gluon corrections are dominant for a large number of top-quark processes. I discuss top–antitop pair production as well as single-top production, including total cross sections and differential distributions, and compare with data from the LHC and the Tevatron. I also discuss top-quark production in association with charged Higgs bosons, Z bosons and other particles in models of new physics.

The impact of anomalous Wtb couplings on tWb process of the single top quark production has been probed in different schemes of tWb modeling. A special attention devotes to influence of the particular schemes to the anomalous couplings sensitivity. The distributions of representative variables demonstrate different behaviour in different simulation schemes, therefore the correct probe for anomalous Wtb couplings require specific approach to simulate BSM contribution. Special approach to search for BSM contribution in the off-shell tWb process is proposed in this paper. The approach is based on the kinematic separation of the double and single resonant contributions by means of neural network. The specific BSM properties are considered separately for the double and single resonant events. Such approach allows to add information on the anomalous Wtb coupling from simultaneous consideration of the tt¯ (double resonant) and tWb (off-shell, single resonant) contribution of tWb processes and therefore can improve the sensitivity to the anomalous Wtb couplings.

The light pseudoscalar boson η is the typical particle predicted by the Simplest Little Higgs (SLH) model. In this paper, we investigate some processes of the associated production of a light pseudoscalar boson η with a pair of top quarks in the SLH model at the International Linear Collider (ILC), i.e. [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. We find that the cross-sections of these two processes could reach [Formula: see text] fb in the favorite parameter space in the SLH model, which is consistent with the results of the cross-section of [Formula: see text] in the standard model and the cross-section of [Formula: see text] in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. It should be clear that hundreds to thousands of η can be produced at the ILC per year, these processes of [Formula: see text] are really interesting in testing the standard model and searching the signs of the SLH model.

A method to simulate anomalous fermion–boson interactions in Wtb vertex is presented with a minimal set of simulated samples of single top quark events at the LHC energies. In the proposed method, additional subsidiary vector fields corresponding to the Standard Model gauge fields are implemented for each type of the anomalous vertex structure. The method allows to simulate a manifestation of anomalous gauge couplings in two approaches used in experimental analyses either keeping only the linear order contributions in the anomalous couplings or keeping all contributions in numerators and denominators as appeared in matrix elements. For the processes with several anomalous couplings contributing simultaneously to the production and to the decay as well as to various interference terms the method allows to model correctly the dependence of kinematic distributions on anomalous couplings. The method shows how to generate a minimum set of event samples needed for a concrete analysis. All the single top quark production mechanisms, t-, s- and associative tW-channels, are considered. The correctness of the proposed method is demonstrated.
