In recent years, with the development of "guiding outline of Ideological and political construction of college curriculum" and "five focuses", the ideological and political education in Colleges and Universities has become more and more important. With the development of the strategy of "Ideological and political education of curriculum", the infiltration of traditional culture into the ideological and political education in Colleges and universities has become the focus of the school and society. From the perspective of culture itself, Chinese excellent traditional culture is a vivid teaching material for college students' patriotism education, an important resource to cultivate socialist core values, and an important source to nourish socialist moral construction. Therefore, in the context of the new era, college teachers should base on the actual development of students, grasp the connotation of the times, optimize the curriculum system, wake up the students' sense of cultural identity and belonging, and truly implement the fundamental task of "moral education".

Under the background of the new era, the responsibility of higher vocational colleges is not only to cultivate talents, but also to foster morality. At present, the ideological and political courses of vocational colleges and curriculum ideological and political education have not formed a joint force of education, resulting in the formation of “two skins” in teaching and education. Curriculum ideological and political education is the innovation and sublimation of contemporary educational curriculum concepts starting from the essential requirements of “education”. Curriculum ideological and political education is not a specific course. It integrates the function of ideological and political education in colleges and universities into all curriculum teaching activities, and realizes the integration of knowledge education and ideological and political education in specialized courses, as well as the education of students’ outlook on life and values in daily teaching. As a new direction of teaching reform in higher education, curriculum ideological and political education is the concentrated embodiment of the educational concept with Chinese characteristics in the new era. After clarifying the connotation of curriculum ideological and political education, this paper discusses the main problems existing in the construction of curriculum ideological and political education in specialized courses of English school and the deep-seated reasons behind the problems, and finally puts forward the realization paths of curriculum ideological and political education for specialized courses from the perspective of optimization theory.
