The title compound, C20H18N2S, was synthesized by the condensation reaction betweenp-toluidine and thiophene-2,5-dicarboxaldehye in refluxing toluene withp-toluenesulfonic acid added as catalyst. The molecule lies on a twofold rotation axis and adopts anEorientation with respect to the azomethine bonds. The dihedral angle between the unqiue benzene ring and the least-squares plane [maximum deviation = 0.0145 (14) Å] containing the azomethine and thiophene groups is 32.31 (6)°.

In the title compound, C10H11NO2S2, the 1,3-dithiane ring has a chair conformation with the 1,4-disposed C atoms being above and below the remaining four atoms. The nitrobenzene substituent occupies an equatorial position and forms a dihedral angle of 88.28 (5)° with the least-squares plane through the 1,3-dithiane ring. The nitro group is twisted out of the plane of the benzene ring to which it is connected, forming a dihedral angle of 10.12 (3)°. In the crystal, molecules aggregate into supramolecular zigzag chains (glide symmetry along thecaxis)vianitro–benzene N—O...π [N—O...Cg(benzene) = 3.4279 (18) Å and angle at O = 93.95 (11)°] interactions. The chains pack with no specific intermolecular interactions between them.

The title compound, C28H40N2, was obtained from the condensation reaction of 4-tert-butyl-2,6-dimethylaniline and butane-2,3-dione. The molecule lies on an inversion centre. The C=N bond has anEconformation. The plane of the benzene ring is almost perpendicular to the 1,4-diazabutadiene mean plane [dihedral angle = 89.8 (9)°].

The title compound, C10H5ClF2N2OS, was obtained by linking an amino heterocycle and a substituted benzoyl chloride. The dihedral angle between the two rings is 41.2 (2)° and the equalization of the amide C—N bond lengths reveals the existence of conjugation between the benzene ring and the thiazole unit. In the crystal, pairs of N—H...N hydrogen bonds link molecules into inversion dimers. Non-classical C—H...F and C—H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.

The title compound, C10H13Cl2FN2O2S2{systematic name:N-[(dichlorofluoromethyl)sulfanyl]-N′,N′-dimethyl-N-p-tolylsulfamide}, is a well known fungicide. The dihedral angle between the mean plane of the dimethylamino group and that of the benzene ring is 32.3 (3)°. One Cl atom and one F atom of the dichlorofluoromethylthio group are disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.605 (9):0.395 (9). In the crystal structure, two C—H...Cl hydrogen bonds link adjacent molecules, forming dimers withR22(14) loops. C—H...O hydrogen bonds link pairs of dimers into chains along theb-axis direction. These chains are joined by an additional C—H...O contact, generating a sheet in theabplane.

The β-lactam (azetidin-2-one) ring of the title compound, C28H27N3O5, is nearly planar [maximum deviation = 0.010 (1) Å] and makes dihedral angles of 75.77 (5), 52.78 (9) and 88.72 (5)°, respectively, with the benzene ring, the least-squares plane formed by the four C atoms of the morpholine ring, which adopts a chair conformation, and the xanthene ring system. In the crystal, C—H...O hydrogen-bond contacts connect neighbouring molecules into infinite zigzag chains running parallel to thebaxis.

The molecule of the title compound, C16H17N3O2S, adopts anEconformation with respect to the azomethine C=N bond. The hydrazinecarbothioamide fragment is close to planar, with a largest deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.079 (2) Å for the hydrazide N atom. This fragment forms a dihedral angle of 9.43 (9)° with the central benzene ring. The benzene rings are inclined to one another by 67.55 (12)°. The molecular conformation is stabilized by an intramolecular O—H...N hydrogen bond involving the azomethine N atom. In the crystal, molecules are linked through weak N—H...S and N—H...O hydrogen bonds into double ribbons along [010]. The crystal packing also features C—H...π interactions.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C10H12N2OS, the conformation of the two N—H bonds areantito each other. The amide C=O and the C=S are are alsoantito each other. The N—H bond adjacent to the benzene ring issynto them-methyl groups.
