The literature covering Plug-in Electric Vehicles (EVs) contains many charging/discharging strategies. However, none of the review papers covers such strategies in a complete fashion where all patterns of EVs charging/discharging are identified. Filling a gap in the literature, we clearly and systematically classify such strategies. After providing a clear definition for each strategy, we provide a detailed comparison between them by categorizing differences as follows: complexity; economics and power losses on the grid side; ability to provide ancillary services for integrity of the power grid; operation aspects (e.g., charging timing); and detrimental impact on the EV, the power grid, or the environment. Each one of these comparison categories is subdivided into even more detailed aspects. After we compare the EV charging/discharging strategies, we further provide recommendations on which strategies are suitable for which applications. Then, we provide ratings for each strategy by weighting all aspects of comparison together. Our review helps authors or aggregators explore likely choices that might suit the specific needs of their systems or test beds.

This work aims to analyze and validate through mathematical modeling and experimental results, in a three-phase three-wire electrical system, the technical viability of a static power converter with a two-level topology with only two controlled branches (2L2B), operating as a grid-side converter (GSC) in a wind turbine generator based on a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). With this reduced-switches topology, the GSC is able to regulate the DC-link voltage level from the generator back-to-back converter and provide ancillary services of harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation from linear/nonlinear loads connected to the point of common coupling. An 8-kVA experimental prototype was implemented in the laboratory to validate the proposal. The prototype control system was realized using the dSPACE DS1103 PPC Controller Board platform programmed via MATLAB/Simulink. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified by comparing the results obtained with the 2L2B topology to the ones with the usual two-level three-branch topology.

The Technological University of Bahía de Banderas offers the career of Advanced University Technician and Engineering in Renewable Energies. Considering that its program of studies is 70% practical and 30% theory, it is of the utmost importance to have inside a system that serves to perform tests of operation and assembly of hybrid systems (wind, photovoltaic) so that students can acquire the necessary skills to a demanding work field. In addition, a space for solar pumping is contemplated, due to one of the eco-economic areas of the regios; agriculture and livestock, although there are irrigation channels there are remote areas with water needs. It is intended to use equipment, accessories and conditions attached to a common facility in the field of work, so that students when they arrive at a private facility are familiar with real, not theoretical marks, models and diagnoses, as the academic modules normally do. of manufacturers.
