This study aims to explore a set of items measuring the lecturers’ teaching practice for developing a true scale of teaching practice. Rasch Model is applied to produce specific measurements on the lecturers’ teaching practice in order to generalize results and inferential studies. The items proved to measure a single dimension of lecturers’ teaching practice. The developed instrument termed LTP covers five dimensions. Construct validity was achieved through the Rasch Model Analysis using the dimensionality, item fit, and item polarity parameters. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by conducting person and item separation analysis, Cronbach alpha, and calculated person and item reliability estimates. The results of Rasch Model Analysis show that the items of LTP fit the model appropriately.

<p>Hajj Instrument (HAJI) was developed to determine hajj pilgrim’s wellness. This study used Rasch measurement to evaluate the psychometric properties including validity and reliability of the HAJI. The respondents involved in this study were 300 comprised of Malaysian hajj pilgrims. HAJI consists of eight constructs namely physical care, physical activity, healthy eating, knowledge, mental toughness, intrapersonal, interpersonal and relationship with Creator and natures. Validity of each construct and content was determined through dimensionality, item fit and item polarity while the reliability was achieved by administered person and item separation. The results showed that the reliability for both item and person were 0.99 and 0.96 respectively. Besides, there were no items need to be dropped based on PTMEA CORR and INFIT MNSQ results. The study revealed that the items of HAJI fit the Rasch model as well as able to measure hajj pilgrim’s wellness. </p>

This article presents the validation of Taufik & Ifdil Resilienci Inventory (TIRI) in the context of post-natural disasters and in Indonesian. The quantitative research tests validity of TIRI with Rasch model analysis, TIRI is used to measure the resilience of students affected by natural disasters by the number items 43 and developed by the Indonesian Institute for Counseling, Education and Therapy (IICET) research team which is coordinated by the Research Center (Universitas Negeri Padang). This research was conducted 3 trials/cycle, all respondents per cycle were spread in 6 regencies in Kota in Indonesia. Instrument resilience for victims of natural disasters is valid and reliable (person reliability 0.68 and item reliability 0.99) with a total 25 items (Raw variance explained by measures = 23.5% with expected values of 24.3%) valid from the total items of 43 items, that means items already represent measurements for the resilience of victims of natural disasters.

This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of the psychometric items from Emotional Intelligence Inventory USM or USMEQ-i using the Rasch model in the context of the polytechnic. A total of 151 students from the Polytechnic Sultan Azlan Shah, Perak selected using purposive sampling technique. The results show that as many as three items have been dropped. A total of 36 items were fulfilled the Rasch model main assumptions such as item fit, unidimensionality and local independence. USMEQ-i was found to have a high reliability and separation index. Thus, this study provides a significant contribution in evaluating EQ items using Rasch model for use in the context of the polytechnic in Malaysia.

The Everyday Discrimination Scale (EDS) is a widely used measure of discrimination. Rasch analysis was used to examine the psychometric properties of the EDS based on a national sample ( N = 2666). Items largely fit the Rasch model and yielded excellent separation and item reliability. However, severe floor effects were observed. Implications are discussed for use of the scale in populations that experience low levels of discrimination. An ordinal-to-interval conversion table for the EDS is also provided.

Abstract Background In previous work we concluded that DEMQOL and DEMQOL-Proxy can provide robust measurement of HRQL in dementia when scores are derived from analysis using the Rasch model. As the study sample included people with mild cognitive impairment, we undertook a replication study in the subsample with a diagnosis of dementia (PWD). PWD constitute the population for whom DEMQOL and DEMQOL-Proxy were originally developed. Methods We conducted a Rasch model analysis using the RUMM2030 software to re-evaluate DEMQOL (441 PWD) and DEMQOL-Proxy (342 family carers). We evaluated scale to sample targeting, ordering of item thresholds, item fit to the model, and differential item functioning (sex, age, severity, relationship), local independence, unidimensionality and reliability. Results For both DEMQOL and DEMQOL-Proxy, results were highly similar to the results in the original sample. We found the same problems with content and response options. Conclusions DEMQOL and DEMQOL-Proxy can provide robust measurement of HRQL in people with a diagnosis of dementia when scores are derived from analysis using the Rasch model. As in the wider sample, the problems identified with content and response options require qualitative investigation in order to improve the scoring of DEMQOL and DEMQOL-Proxy.

Background and Purpose: Nurse researchers and practicing nurses need reliable and valid instruments to measure key clinical concepts. The purpose of this research was to develop an innovative method to measure dimensions of wellness among older adults. Method: A sample of 5,604 community-dwelling older adults was drawn from members of the COLLAGE consortium. The Wellness Assessment Tool (WEL) of the COLLAGE assessment system provided the data used to create the scores. Application of the Rasch analysis and Masters’ partial credit method resulted in logit values for each item within the five dimensions of wellness as well as logit values for each person in the sample. Results: The items fit the Rasch model, and the composite scores for each dimension demonstrated high reliability (1.00). The person reliability was low: social (.19), intellectual (.33), physical (.29), emotional (.20), and spiritual (.29). The small number of items within each dimension and the homogenous sample appear to have contributed to this low reliability. Conclusion: Ongoing research using multidimensional tools to measure dimensions of wellness among older adults is needed to advance wellness science and wellness promotion in nursing practice.

Objectives Informal caregivers often experience a restriction in occupational balance. The self-reported questionnaire on Occupational Balance in Informal Caregivers (OBI-Care) is a measurement instrument to assess occupational balance in informal caregivers. Measurement properties of the German version of the OBI-Care had previously been assessed in parents of preterm infants exclusively. Thus, the aim of this study was to examine the measurement properties of the questionnaire in a mixed population of informal caregivers. Methods A psychometric study was conducted, applying a multicenter cross-sectional design. Measurement properties (construct validity, internal consistency, and interpretability) of each subscale of the German version of the OBI-Care were examined. Construct validity was explored by assessing dimensionality, item fit and overall fit to the Rasch model, and threshold ordering. Internal consistency was examined with inter-item correlations, item-total correlations, Cronbach’s alpha, and person separation index. Interpretability was assessed by inspecting floor and ceiling effects. Results A total of 196 informal caregivers, 171 (87.2%) female and 25 (12.8%) male participated in this study. Mean age of participants was 52.27 (±12.6) years. Subscale 1 was multidimensional, subscale 2 and subscale 3 were unidimensional. All items demonstrated item fit and overall fit to the Rasch model and displayed ordered thresholds. Cronbach’s Alpha and person separation index values were excellent for each subscale. There was no evidence of ceiling or floor effects. Conclusions We identified satisfying construct validity, internal consistency, and interpretability. Thus, the findings of this study support the application of the German version of the OBI-Care to assess occupational balance in informal caregivers.

Abstract Fluid dynamics has some complex and unobservable concept, however, tests are rarely developed to measure students’ understanding of these concepts. This condtion make a difficulty to map students’ mental models with existing instruments. Based on that problem, this study aims to develop FD-MT (fluid dynamic-multi tier test) as a diagnostic test for measure students’ mental model on fluid dynamic concept. The ADDIE (Analyzing, Designing, Developing, Implementing, Evaluating) is a research method that used in this study. The data were collected by FD-MT will be analyzed by rasch model analysis, include the reliability, the validity, item fit and the differential item function. Student mental model clasified as Scientific, Synthesis-A (Sy-A), Synthesis-B(Sy-B), Syinthesis-C (Sy-C), Synthesis-D(Sy-D), and Initial. The participant of this study are 20 students in the eleventh grade (9 boys and 11 girls, 16-17 age in average) at high school in Bandung. Based on result study shows that students’ mental model mostly in mental Sc (8.18%), Sy-A (3.18%), Sy-B (21.36%), Sy-C (19.09%), Sy-D (38.18%) and In (10%), and incompleted answer (Nr = 0%). This conclude that, FD-MT is able to measureing students’ mental model on fluid dynamic concept.

This research aims to see the ability of the FMCE-PHQ-9 test instrument amid the Covid-19 pandemic to measure conceptual understanding, cheating, and depression in students. The research was conducted on 64 physics education students at Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin State Islamic University Jambi. The instrument consists of 47 force and motion material items to fit the Winsteps 3.65.0 program. The analysis results using the Rasch Model showed that the MNSQ Outfit was 1.00 in the person column and 0.1 in the item column. Judging from the ZSTD value of 0.57 for the person and 0.1 for the item, the Points Measure value correlated with 0.4 to 0.85 while the item reliability value was 0.73 and the Cronbach's Alpha value was 0.56. therefore, the test instrument using the Rasch proclamation model found 31 fit items. The analysis results show that the concept ability was poor since, on average, the students could only answer questions with a low index of difficulty category. The research results on the level of cheating obtained data that 100 percent of students were not indicated to have the same pattern. Lastly, for the level of depression, only 16 percent of students did not experience depression, while 84 percent of students experienced it.
