Polymorphism and mosaicism of B chromosome number in Korean field mouse Apodemus peninsulae (Rodentia) in the Russian Far East

In this paper, we analyzed B chromosome variation in Korean field mouse Apodemus peninsulae Thomas 1907 (Rodentia, Muridae) based on a 40-year study of karyotypes collected from geographically distant populations in East Siberia, North Mongolia, China, the Russian Far East, and Japan (Hokkaido). We developed the database of individual variants of B chromosome systems in A. peninsulae. In Siberian populations all animals had Bs. The karyotypes of the studied animals contain from 1 to 30 Вs differing in size and morphology. Analysis of B chromosome systems in 598 individuals from different localities of the range shows the presence of 286 variants of Вs combinations in these animals. Unique sets of B morphotypes make up most of these variants (64.7 ± 1.3%), probably suggesting that individual Bs systems normally result from stochastic processes in the populations. The proportion of animals with a large number of Bs gradually decreases, probably due to increased complexities in the inheritance of large numbers of Bs. A. peninsulae is thus proposed as a good model for studying the origin and evolution of extra elements in the karyotype.

Korean field mouse (Apodemus peninsulae) shows a wide variation in the number of B chromosomes composed of constitutive heterochromatin. For this reason, it provides a good model to study the influence of the number of centromeres and amount of heterochromatin on spatial organization of interphase nuclei. We analyzed the three-dimensional organization of fibroblast and spermatocyte nuclei of the field mice carrying a different number of B chromosomes using laser scanning microscopy and 3D fluorescence in situ hybridization. We detected a co-localization of the B chromosomes with constitutive heterochromatin of the chromosomes of the basic set. We showed a non-random distribution of B chromosomes in the spermatocyte nuclei. Unpaired B chromosomes showed a tendency to occur in the compartment formed by the unpaired part of the XY bivalent.

On basis of the variability data of the cytochrome b sites (992 bp), the authors analyzed a distribution of the Apodemus peninsulae phylogenetic lines in the Russian Far East and Transbaikal unexplored regions. Where studied 42 individuals from 9 localities. All species of the Apodemus peninsulae from the considered localities were assigned to the 2 phylogenetic lines of «Korea» and «Amur». It was shown that the «Korea» haplotype species are common in the southern Altai and eastern Transbaikalia, and that they inhabit the northern regions of Transbaikalia (Taksimo vicinity) as well. An assumption was made that the «Amur» group formation took place in the middle and / or lower Amur area.

Subject. The article addresses the tax liabilities of taxpayers registered in the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District, which should be paid to the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation, as well as the factors of the said debt growth. Objectives. Our aim is to assess the level of tax debt of regions of the Russian Far East and identify the correlation between the factors and the amount of tax debt. Methods. The study rests on methods of analysis, generalization, grouping, systematization, and the correlation and regression analysis. Results. We analyzed the level of tax debt for the entire Far Eastern Federal District and by region, identified factors affecting the growth of tax debt therein. The paper assesses the structure of tax debt by type of taxes and activity of debtors. The unveiled factors may help control changes in the size of tax debt in the Russian Far East and develop effective measures to improve the debt collection. Conclusions. The study shows that there is an increase in the tax debt in the regions of the Russian Far East, in the VAT in particular. The factor analysis revealed that the volume of sales of wholesale enterprises, investment in fixed capital, the consumer price index have the largest impact on the amount of tax debt.
