The recent claim by the CDF Collaboration of a possible anomalous dijet resonance in their data required experimental verification from other hadron collider experiments. We present a study of the dijet invariant mass spectrum in events with two jets produced in association with a W→ℓν boson at the DØ experiment. We investigate the dijet mass range between 110 GeV /c2 and 170 GeV /c2 and find no evidence for any resonant dijet production.

The reaction pn → dπ0π0 constitutes the most fundamental system for the study of the ABC effect - a puzzling threshold enhancement in the ππ invariant mass spectrum of the ππ system in double-pionic fusion to nuclear bound states. The first exclusive measurements of this reaction have now been carried out at CELSIUS-WASA. They exhibit a striking low-mass enhancement in the ππ invariant mass spectrum, prove it to be a σ-channel phenomenon and falsify conventional theoretical models, which predict an associated high-mass enhancement not present in the new exclusive data. In the kinematically complete data sample we observe a ΔΔ excitation, where the interaction between the two Δ obviously plays a crucial role for the generation of the ππ low-mass enhancement.

We investigate the processes e+e−→W±H∓ and e+e−→H+H− in a superstring inspired model having an additional ZE. The cross section at Z2 resonance for e+e−→W±H∓ are considerably large, giving about a thousand events per day at LEP II energy for the planned luminosity. The invariant mass spectrum for l±vl obtained from W± decay is shown to be distinct and could be decisive in the detection of the process. The cross section for the process e+e−→H+H− is relatively small and may provide around five events per day for the envisaged luminosity. The dominant background problem caused by e+e−→W+W− in both processes may be reduced by applying appropriate cuts on the polar angle of the thrust axis.
