The laminated composite material is  made of ply which are specically used in automotive, aerospace and military applications due to less in weight and high strength to weight ratio. The role of structural strength is very important in composites, as the material is weak in inherent strength leads to damage of equipment made with the laminated composite. Hence, an accurate understanding of their structural geometrical behavior for residual stresses is required, such as residual stresses with different aspect ratios. In present work, various aspect ratios of laminated composite and its residual stresses are investigated using finite element analysis. The numerical results showed, on the residual stresses, that the effects the change the residual stresses due change of aspect ratio of laminated Graphite/epoxy composite.

Use of composite laminates is found in various applications such as aircraft and automotive, sports, rocket parts and civil structures. Resin system of the polymer composites enacts a crucial role of binding the reinforcements properly to provide good mechanical properties. The presence of any kind of filler alters the properties of resin system which in turn also alters the mechanical behaviour of composite laminate. In the present work an attempt has been made to enhance the mechanical performance of glass fibre epoxy composites by embedding nano calcium carbonate particles in resin system. These particles were added in different weight fractions like 1, 3 and 5% and the response of GFRP nano composites were recorded under flexural and shear loads. Composite laminates with 3% wt. of nano particles have shown considerable improvement among the other laminates.

Use as outdoor insulators in high voltage power transmission is a potential application of epoxy composites. Vulnerability of these insulators to various stresses when exposed to external environment, limit their potential. Better pollution performance in hostile environments can be achieved in these composites by using nano and micro combination of fillers. This paper discusses the merits of using combination of micro and nano fillers consisting of silica, alumina, ATH, CaCO3 and MgO in glass epoxy to demonstrate that they serve a better alternative to the conventional glass epoxy composite insulation systems. Extensive investigations have been carried out on hydrophobic recovery of these composites for understanding their pollution performance under various contaminants such as NaCl, seawater, acid and cement. The addition of filler combinations to glass epoxy enhanced the hydrophobic properties of the composites compared to the glass epoxy without fillers. The results revealed that the composite with MgO filler showed 37% increase in contact angle in as-cast form compared to contact angle of epoxy without fillers.
