Previous investigations of granitoids in Sumatra were focused on age dating with minimum geochemistry composition analysis. The purpose of this study is to define the geochemistry classification of the intrusions in central Sumatra and to explain the rocks' correlation to Southeast Asia tectonic activities. A polarizing microscope was used for petrography description while XRF and ICP-MS were applied for geochemistry measurements. According to the geochemistry, almost all of the intrusions are the I-type volcanic arc granitoids. The oldest studied rock is the Late Permian Ombilin Granite that should have been formed before West Sumatra and West Burma move away from the Cathaysia. Sulit Air Granite and Tanjung Gadang Granite intrusion were triggered by the subduction of Meso-Tethys beneath West Sumatra while Lassi Pluton and Lolo Pluton due to Indo-Australia and West Sumatra convergency. The Triassic Sijunjung Granite depicts A-type granite natures to suggest an extension in the West Sumatra plate.

The Volcanic Arc Suite is the group of batholiths in the range of the Barisan Mountains and mostly denotes I-type affinity. Previous investigations of the intrusions in West Sumatra emphasized the crystallization age without completing geochemistry characteristics. No former study discussed a pluton which mapped in the Kota XI Tarusan District. This study explains the geochemistry and petrology of the Tarusan Pluton using polarized microscope, XRF, and ICP-MS at the Center for Geology Survey of Indonesia. The microscopic analysis confirms the granite character of the samples. Although both plutons are identified as I-type calc-alkaline series, the Tarusan Pluton is peraluminous granite whilst the Lolo Pluton denotes wider range from metaluminous to peraluminous of granodiorite to granite. Both the plutons are clearly classified as volcanic arc granitoid in the correlation to Volcanic Arc Suite of Sumatra. Negative Ba, Nb, and P anomalies together with positive K, Nd, and Y anomalies are pronounced on the two felsic intrusions. Negative Eu anomaly on the Tarusan Pluton but the positive one at the Lolo Pluton might explain different magma evolution process.Keywords: volcanic arc granite, geochemistry, Tarusan Pluton, Lolo Pluton.

Background and Objectives: In this work, yellow and green varieties of Cucumis melo fruits belonging to different cultivars were studied. In detail, three Sicilian cultivars of winter melons tutelated by TAP (Traditional agro-alimentary products) labels were considered, whereas asun protected the Calabrian winter melon was studied too. With the aim to compare the selective uptakes of inorganic elements among winter and summer fruits, the “PGI Melone Mantovano” was investigated. The purpose of this work was to apply the obtained results i) to guarantee the quality and healthiness of fruits, ii) to producers defend, iii) to help the customers in safe food purchase. Method: All samples were analyzed by ICP-MS and the obtained results, subsequently, were subjected to Cluster analysis (CA), Principal component analysis (PCA) and Canonical discriminant analysis (CDA). Results: CA results were generally in agreement with samples origin, whereas the PCA elaboration has confirmed the presence of a strong relation between fruit origins and trace element contents. In particular, two principal components justified the 57.32% of the total variance (PC1= 40.95%, PC2= 16.37%). Finally, the CDA approach has provided several functions with high discrimination power, confirmed by the correct classification of all samples (100%). Conclusions: CA, PCA and CDA could represent an integrated to label to discriminate the origin of agri-food products and, thus, protect and guarantee their healthiness.

BackgroundFamily practice aims to recognize the health problems and needs expressed by the person rather than only focusing on the disease. Documenting person-related information will facilitate both the understanding and delivery of person-focused care.AimTo explore if the patients’ ideas, concerns and expectations (ICE) behind the reason for encounter (RFE) can be coded with the International Classification of Primary Care, version 2 (ICPC-2) and what kinds of codes are missing to be able to do so.MethodsIn total, 613 consultations were observed, and patients’ expressions of ICE were narratively recorded. These descriptions were consequently translated to ICPC codes by two researchers. Descriptions that could not be translated were qualitatively analysed in order to identify gaps in ICPC-2.ResultsIn all, 613 consultations yielded 672 ICE expressions. Within the 123 that could not be coded with ICPC-2, eight categories could be defined: concern about the duration/time frame; concern about the evolution/severity; concern of being contagious or a danger to others; patient has no concern, but others do; expects a confirmation of something; expects a solution for the symptoms without specification of what it should be; expects a specific procedure; and expects that something is not done.DiscussionAlthough many ICE can be registered with ICPC-2, adding eight new categories would capture almost all ICE.

Parasitology has now become a vast subject, and it is impossible for any parasitologist to have a complete knowledge of the classification of all the groups of parasites with which he may be expected, from time to time, to deal. Almost all helminthologists, for example, are obliged to confine their special studies to one of the main groups—one dealing chiefly with Nematodes, another with Trematodes, another with Cestodes, and so on. Even within these large groups many findit impossible to keep in touch with the literature concerning more than one or two special families. But whether the field they attempt to cover be large or small, it is probable that most parasitologists find the name of the host a very valuable clue to the identity of the parasite which they are endeavouring to determine. For some groups more or less comprehensive host-lists have been published from time to time, and authors frequently include such lists even in short memoirs, presumably for the assistance of their fellow-workers. In all probability many workers find it useful to attempt to compile for their own use some kind of host-list.

Impurities in paint layers executed with green and blue copper pigments, although relatively common, have been studied only little to date. Yet, their proper identification is a powerful tool for classification of paintings, and, potentially, for future provenance studies. In this paper, we present analyses of copper pigments layers from wall paintings situated in the vicinity of copper ore deposits (the palace in Kielce, the palace in Ciechanowice, and the parish church in Chotków) located within the contemporary borders of Poland. We compare the results with the analyses of copper minerals from three deposits, two local, and one historically important for the supply of copper in Europe, i.e., Miedzianka in the Holy Cross Mountains, Miedzianka in the Sudetes, and, as a reference, Špania Dolina in the Slovakian Low Tatra. Optical (OM) and electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), Raman spectroscopy, and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) have been used for a detailed investigation of the minute grains. Special attention has been devoted to antimony and nickel phases, as more unusual than the commonly described iron oxides. Analyses of minerals from the deposits helped to interpret the results obtained from the paint samples. For the first time, quantitative analyses of copper pigments’ impurities have been described.

A new occurrence of Permian volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks in the Mongolian Altai south of the Main Mongolian Lineament was described between soums of Tugrug and Tseel in Gobi-Altai aimag. Studied vitrophyric pyroxene basalt lies in a layer of agglomerate and amygdaloidal lavas, which is a part of NE–SW trending subvertical sequence of varicolored siltstones and volcaniclastic rocks in the Tsengel River valley. This high-Mg basalt is enriched in large ion lithophile elements, Pb and Sr and depleted in Nb and Ta. LA-ICP-MS dating on 44 spots reveals several concordia clusters. The whole rock geochemistry of sample fits volcanic arc characteristic in the geotectonic discrimination diagrams. Dominant zircon data yield Upper Carboniferous and Permian magmatic ages 304.4 ± 2.3 and 288.6 ± 1.9 Ma. Two smaller clusters of Upper Devonian (376 ± 4.7 Ma) to Lower Carboniferous ages (351.9 ± 3.5 Ma) indicate probably contamination of ascending magmatic material. Youngest Triassic age found in three morphologically differing grains reflects probably lead loss. Described high-Mg basalt lava represents sub-aerial volcanism in volcanic arc environment developed over the N dipping subduction zone in the southwestern Mongolia in the time span from Uppermost Carboniferous to Permian during terminal stage of its activity.

West Sumatera is a disaster prone area, especially disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, floods,tsunamis, and volcanoes. The high potential of natural disasters has consequences for the importance ofdisaster mitigation efforts. School is an effective tool in shaping of mindset and behavior of students. Oneeffort that can be done is integrate the topic of natural disaster into learning, especially physics learning.Integrating physical matter in learning requires material analysis aimed at making disaster topics integratedin accordance with learning topic. The type of this research is descriptive research. The results of theresearch indicate that an analysis of the relevance of learning material to the topic of integrated disastersneeds to be done so that the integration between teaching material and the topic of disasters is carried out inharmony. Almost all physics learning material can be integrated with the topic of disasters that often hit theWest Sumatra region. The classification of material on the topic of integrated disasters is classified into factand metacognitive material.
