Based on field surveys undertaken in two conservation areas, we report new distribution data of Hyalinobatrachium taylori (Goin, 1968) and H. tricolor Castroviejo-Fisher, Vilà, Ayarzagüena, Blanc & Ernst, 2011 from the state of Amapá, northern Brazil. We provide acoustic data from these new populations. These are the first records of H. taylori and H. tricolor from Amapá, extending the geographic distributions of these species by 317 km from Mitaraka and 320 km from Saut Grand Machicou, both in French Guiana, respectively.

New records of 14 stygobiont crustacean species pertaining to six Malacostraca orders from 32 cenotes are presented, with their associated caves of the state of Yucatan, Mexico, together with an individual account for each species. Species composition of most of the investigated cenotes is examined for the first time. A thermosbaenacean and two amphipod species were not formally recorded to the cenote ecosystems of the state of Yucatan prior to our research. Distribution data of a cirolanid isopod previously known only from its type locality is also provided. Barcodes of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I for the reported peracarid species previously lacking this information have been included in present study as tools for species identification and a baseline of further molecular genetic analyses.

Based on field surveys, we report new distribution data of Fulvous Whistling-duck, Dendrocygna bicolor (Vieillot, 1816), from the state of Rondônia, southwestern Amazon, Brazil. This is the first record of D. bicolor from Rondônia and extend the geographic distribution of this species by 946 km from São Fabiano, Mato Grosso state, Brazil, and 688 km from Trinidad, Bolivia.

Abstract New records of 110 species of the acalyptrate Diptera family Agromyzidae are given from Portugal, including Madeira, Porto Santo and the Azores. A quarantine plant pest, Nemorimyza maculosa (Malloch, 1913), was detected in the Old World for the first time. Details on Phytobia xylem- miners and a parthenogenetic Phytomyza species are recorded together with new distribution data. For certain species morphological and taxonomic notes and discussions on known or new host plants are added. A complete checklist of Agromyzidae of Portugal is presented.

As a contribution to knowledge of the aquatic beetles of the Neotropical Region, the genus Berosus Leach is recorded for the first time from Roraima State in northern Brazil. Three new species are described and illustrated: Berosus illuviosus sp. n., B. parvus sp. n., and B. andreazzei sp. n. In addition, we present a checklist of the Berosus species collected in 26 ponds in the savanna area of the State of Roraima, with 12 new species records for the state, five of which are also new country records for Brazil.

Lithodytes lineatus (Schneider, 1799) is a medium-sized frog distributed throughout South America and found in Brazil in the Amazonia and Cerrado domains. Here we document two new records of the species in forested areas in the state of Amapá, Northern Brazil, and provide an updated distribution map for it. The record of L. lineatus in the state of Amapá extends its distribution approximately 78 km from the nearest locality, Floresta Estadual do Paru, in the municipality of Monte Alegre, state of Pará, Brazil, and help to fill information gaps.

In this paper five new records for the Chinese flat bug fauna are reported: Aradus angularis Sahlberg 1886, Aradus betulae (Linnaeus 1758), Aradus distinctus Fieber 1860, Aradus tonkinensis Kormilev & Heiss 1976, and Aradus rysakovi Kiritshenko 1951. Aradus wuzhisanensis Liu 1981from Hainan Province is synonymised with Aradus candidatus Bergroth 1889, a species known from Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos. A new species, Aradus gaoligongensis n. sp. from Sichuan Province, belongs to the “transiens”-group and is described and figured. In addition, new distribution data are given for 8 Aradus species.

The Taxonomic Collections Center of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CCT-UFMG) has 223,653 insects catalogued, of which about 6,500 are beetles (Coleoptera). Most insects in the collection are from the southeastern region of Brazil. The collection also includes specimens from other regions and from other countries. A checklist of the flat-faced longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae, Lamiinae) deposited in the CCT-UFMG is presented. The available exemplars were identified using the literature or direct comparison with individuals from other scientific collections. The CCT-UFMG contains 254 specimens of Lamiinae that were identified to species level, comprising 100 species from 63 genera. We provide the first record of Pseudopaludicola boliviana from the state of Amapá (municipality of Macapá), northern Brazil. It is also the species easternmost record, extending its known geographic distribution in Brazil about 1,260 km from the state of Roraima, northern Brazil. Additionally, we also provide a call description for this population of P. boliviana and make comparisons with the available acoustic data for the species from Bolivia and Argentina. This new record fills a gap in the distribution of P. boliviana in northern Brazil.

ABSTRACT The State of Acre, in the southwestern Brazilian Amazon, harbors high biodiversity and a high degree of endemisms. Nevertheless, there are few studies on the diversity of social wasps occurring in this region. This study presents a list of social wasps (Hymenoptera, Vespidae, Polistinae) collected actively with attractive bait in three rainforest fragments in Acre. A total of 758 wasps belonging to 11 genera and 36 species were collected. Nineteen species were new distribution records for Acre and three others were new records for Brazil. Based on our results, further investigations should lead to a significant increase in Polistinae diversity in this region, producing information for biogeographic studies and management of natural areas.
