The paper deals with one of the aspects of early identification of giftedness: the establishment of the relationship between its types. The authors see a solution of the problem in the development and validation of the methodology based on the integrated modern scientific knowledge - psychological, pedagogical and art criticism, in the field of contemporary art. This technique is expected to meet the conditions of efficiency and accessibility in the application of teachers working with children. Clarifications have been made to the basic concept of giftedness for the paper. The authors propose a term describing the interrelated manifestation of two types of giftedness - duovector talent. The method is aimed at finding hidden signs of duovector giftedness: musical mathematics, in the field of fine art and sports, musical and linguistic. The basis of this approach is the idea of the dependence of the frequency and brightness of giftedness manifestations on the conditions, the most important of which is the aesthetic environment enriched with multi-modal material for creativity. At the same time, it is advisable to involve children in accessible and aesthetically valuable works of modern art, in the search for new knowledge in the same ways that adult authors of the XXI century use. Modeling directly perceived creative techniques and forms, the child masters the world, structures it non-linearly, on the principle of creating a rhizome. As a catalyst of creative activity, a set of tasks-subtests adapted to the age peculiarities of children is offered. The procedure of the experiment in a specially organized educational environment (an art workshop) is characterized. Plunging into the atmosphere of fruitful disorder, the child will act freely and directly, engaged in creativity as a game, creates an art product that has value as a marker of his talent. The content of creative tasks is presented, according to the results of work on which the diagnostic card is filled, in turn, which is the basis for the conclusions about the presence of the childs duovector talent. At this stage of the study, the authors have prepared a method for validation by comparing it with tests and subtests of other methods. The materials of the paper logically continue the research in the field of finding reference points for the development of individual educational routes of students, preparing them for lifelong learning.

This article is an attempt to re-read the magnum opus of Adorno’s philosophy, namely Aesthetic Theory, using an interpretative key offered by Agata Bielik-Robson’s book entitled Jewish Cryptotheologies of Late Modernity: Philosophical Marranos. This interpretative key, called by the Author The Marrano Strategy implemented to Adorno’s late philosophy allows us to investigate the common points of Adorno’s theory of art criticism and modern Jewish thought. Therefore the main question of this text concerns the characteristics of Jewishness and messianicity (Scholem, Derrida) in Adorno’s Aesthetic Theory. The thesis that I am attempting to justify is as follows: the implementation of Marrano strategy to the modern art criticism redefines and reverses the relationship between the particular element and the universal domain. Consequently, this dialectical ‘appreciation’ of the particular establishes a common conceptual field for critical thinking and traditional, religious motifs.

Dua perupa asal Bali yangdikaji merupakan perupa yang berkembang pada era seni rupa kontemporer melaluipenciptaan karya melalui spirit lokalitas Bali dengan pendekatan postmodern.Karya yang dihasilkan transmedia dan dengan cita rasa lokal-global. Pendekatankritik seni melalui empat tahapan analisisnya serta tiga pertimbangan penilaian yangakan menempatkan materi tulisan ini untuk berbincang, berdialog dengan karyaseni serta senimannya, sehingga akan ditemukan terjadinya proses transformasiestetis meliputi tema, gaya, fungsi, makna, hingga konsep berkeseniannya. Kritikseni rupa modern pada dasarnya adalah perbincangan mengenai seni (rupa), “artcriticism talks about art”. Tujuan dari kritik seni adalah pemahaman (understanding),supaya orang memperoleh informasi dan pemahaman yang berkaitan dengan mutusuatu karya seni. Dengan demikian, melalui kritik seni ini pembacaan terhadapkarya dua perupa Bali ini akan menemukan muaranya pada pemaparan karakterkarya dan konsepsi seni yang dihasilkannya. Penulis mengklasifikasikan karya seniperupa Sensuous Objects ke dalam tiga struktur media penciptaan, yakni media duadimensional, tiga dimensional, dan seni instalasi. Berbicara tentang karya seni akantidak utuh jika tidak menyinggung ihwal yang menyangkut medium karena hanyalewat medium itulah, karya seni itu akan memperoleh wujudnya yang konkretlahiriah. Aesthetic Dialectics of Balinese Contemporary Arts through Upadana andValasara’s Artworks. This article examines the aesthetic reading of artworks in an artexhibition called “Sensuous Objects” using an art criticism approach. Two artists fromBali are examined as growing artists in the era of contemporary art through the creationof works in the spirit of locality with a postmodern approach in Bali. The resulting workis the trans-media and the local-global flavor. An approach to art criticism throughthe four stages of analysis and assessment of three considerations will put this writingmaterial in the context of conversation, dialogue with the artwork and the artist, so thereis an aesthetic transformation process including the theme, style, function, meaning, andthe concept of art. Critics of modern art basically talk about art (visual), “art criticismtalks about art”. The purpose of art criticism is to understand that people acquireinformation and understanding pertinent to the quality of artwork. Thus, throughthe reading of artworks, two Balinese artists find out the exposure to the character andconception of artworks produced. The author classifies the artwork of artists calledSensuous Objects into three structures of media creation such as the two-dimensionalmedia, three-dimensional media, and installation art. Speaking of the artwork will not be complete if it does not mention particulars related to the media because only throughthat medium, works of art will acquire its concrete-outward form.


Recent decades have seen a major expansion in our understanding of how early Greek lyric functioned in its social, political, and ritual contexts. The fundamental role song played in the day-to-day lives of communities, groups, and individuals has been the object of intense study. This volume places its focus elsewhere, and attempts to illuminate poetic effects that cannot be captured in functional terms. Employing a range of interpretative methods, it explores the idea of lyric performances as textual events. Several chapters investigate the pragmatic relationship between real performance contexts and imaginative settings. Others consider how lyric poems position themselves in relation to earlier texts and textual traditions, or discuss the distinctive encounters lyric poems create between listeners, authors, and performers. In addition to studies that analyse individual lyric texts and lyric authors (Sappho, Alcaeus, Pindar), the volume includes treatments of the relationship between lyric and the Homeric Hymns. Building on the renewed concern with the aesthetic in the study of Greek lyric and beyond, Textual Events re-examines the relationship between the poems’ formal features and their historical contexts. Lyric poems are a type of sociopolitical discourse, but they are also objects of attention in themselves. They enable reflection on social and ritual practices as much as they are embedded within them. As well as enacting cultural norms, lyric challenges listeners to think about and experience the world afresh.

Artificial intelligence, which was founded in the middle of the last century, has been one of the most invested in and interesting fields in recent times. Recently one of the most discussed and important issues is the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and intellectual property rights (IPR). Thus, the ownership of works created by artificial intelligence is one of the most discussed issues. In recent years, on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, modern achievements of world science have been applied in the life of society in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Considering all of this, the significance and urgency of the situation are clear. In other words, this is an issue that is high on both our national and international agendas. Contemporary art museums are significant actors in the entertainment industry, which is recreated by new forms of leisure time activities every day. Entertainment that is used as an important and effective marketing tool in contemporary art museums is also a significant formative of the new relationship between contemporary art museums and their visitors. Therefore, the aim of this chapter is to explore the relationship between art, entertainment, leisure, and museum marketing with a literature review in order to find answers to questions like, What is the relationship between art and entertainment? and Which marketing techniques are used by contemporary art organizations? In this context, the relationship between leisure, entertainment, and contemporary art museums is explained; afterwards, contemporary art museums' marketing strategies are described in detail as the main scope of the study. Finally, as a case study, Istanbul Modern Art Museum's political-economical environment and marketing strategies are analyzed.

In this article, we use topic modeling to systematically explore topics discussed in contemporary art criticism. Analyzing 6965 articles published between 1991 and 2015 in Frieze, a leading art magazine, we find a plurality of topics characterizing professional discourse on contemporary art. Not surprisingly, media- or genre-specific topics such as film/cinema, photography, sculpture/installations, etc. emerge. Interestingly, extra-artistic topics also characterize contemporary art criticism: there is room for articles on new digital technology and on art and philosophy; there is also growing interest in the relationship between art and society. Our analysis shows that despite evolutions in the field of contemporary art – such as the ‘social turn’, in which contemporary art starts paying more attention to social forms and content – the prevalence of certain topics in contemporary art criticism has barely changed over the past 25 years. With this article, we demonstrate the unique value of topic modeling for cultural sociology: it is both a powerful computational technique to generate a bird’s-eye view of a huge text corpus and a heuristic device that locates key texts for further close reading.

People across the world seek out beautiful sounds in nature, such as a babbling brook or a nightingale song, for positive human experiences. However, it is unclear whether this positive aesthetic response is driven by a preference for the perceptual features typical of nature sounds versus a higher-order association of nature with beauty. To test these hypotheses, participants provided aesthetic judgments for nature and urban soundscapes that varied on ease of recognition. Results demonstrated that the aesthetic preference for nature soundscapes was eliminated for the sounds hardest to recognize, and moreover the relationship between aesthetic ratings and several measured acoustic features significantly changed as a function of recognition. In a follow-up experiment, requiring participants to classify these difficult-to-identify sounds into nature or urban categories resulted in a robust preference for nature sounds and a relationship between aesthetic ratings and our measured acoustic features that was more typical of easy-to-identify sounds. This pattern of results was replicated with computer-generated artificial noises, which acoustically shared properties with the nature and urban soundscapes but by definition did not come from these environments. Taken together, these results support the conclusion that the recognition of a sound as either natural or urban dynamically organizes the relationship between aesthetic preference and perceptual features.

Pulau Bali terkenal sebagai salah satu tujuan wisata terbesar di dunia yang berkaitan erat dengan budaya Bali. Perkembangan seni rupa modern tidak dapat dipisahkan dari sejarah kolonialisme pada tahun 1900-an melalui pengembangan awal pariwisata yang memengaruhi perkembangan praktik seni Bali dan wacananya. Studi kualitatif ini akan melihat Bali sebagai kawasan-kawasan yang berbeda dalam spektrum perkembangan seni rupa yang dipengaruhi oleh konteks perkembangan pariwisata di tiap wilayah. Metode yang digunakan adalah aksi partipatoris di lapangan dengan pendekatan hermeneutik untuk memahami konteks, makna, dan nilai estetik yang terbangun dalam kegiatan-kegiatan seni rupa di Klungkung dalam kegiatan komunitas Batu Belah dalam acara Global Change Art Climate 2015, di Denpasar dan sekitarnya dalam kegiatan komunitas Sprites Art 2015, dan di Buleleng dalam kegiatan komunitas Segara Lor pada Buleleng Festival 2013. Perbedaan dalam konteks pengembangan pariwisata di daerah-daerah tertentu di Bali telah memengaruhi perkembangan dan perbedaan makna dan nilai estetika karya seni di sana. The Tourism Influence on Art Diversity as a Cultural Capital of Bali: Study on the Community and Art Events in Denpasar, Klungkung dan Singaraja. The island of Bali is famous as one of the largest tourist destination in the world. The development of modern art cannot be separated from the history of colonialism in the 1900s through the early development of Balinese art activities and their studies. This qualitative study sees Bali as different regions in the spectrum of the development of art which influenced by the context of the development of tourism in each region. The method used in this study is the action partipatoris field (participatory action field research) with a hermeneutic approachto understand the context, meaning, and aesthetic value that are built in the activities of art in Klungkung by among others are Batu Belah community in “The Global Change Art Climate 2015”, in Denpasar “Sprites activities Art” in 2015, and in Buleleng in activities “Segara Lor in Buleleng Festival 2013”. Differences in the context of the development of tourism in certain areas in Bali have influenced the development and meaning differences, and the aesthetic value of the works of art there.

At first glance it all seems so easy – scientists create new knowledge, and through their work they show which statements about the world are true and which are false. Science journalists pass these new discoveries on so that as many people as possible can learn about them and understand them. Prior to publication, it is the job of "fact checkers" to examine the journalists' texts to ensure that all the facts are correctly represented. In reality, however, the relationship between the actors is by far more complicated. Using my experience as fact checker of scientific texts for the news magazine "DER SPIEGEL", I would like to comment in this essay on where I see the main problems of fact checking in scientific journalism to be, and on the changes that have come about through the use of the Internet and the availability of smartphones and tablet computers.

The article is devoted to the study of the symbols of the Mezen painting as a single system. The spinning wheel is viewed as a cosmogonic model of our ancestors, where painting is directly related to the content of the image. The object of the research is the archaic symbols of the Mezen painting. The subject is the development of ornaments and prints for decor and product design. The history of the Mezen craft (geography, origins, traditions), the artistic features of the craft (materials, technology) and the semantics of the ornament are studied. The article considers archaic ornaments of Mezeno in connection with the ancient cultures of mankind (the Neolithic era, Andronov culture, Ancient Greece, etc.) and Slavic traditional culture. The article deals with deciphering the semantics of the ornament of the Mezen spinning wheel as a reflection of the idea of the world of our ancestors. The author's development "The symbolism of the Mezen painting in contemporary art" is given, showing the possibility of using the Mezen ornament at the present stage of the development of artistic culture in art and design. The authors of the article propose to use the ornaments and symbols of Mezeno as decor and prints in modern art and design.
