Renewable energy is a solution for electricity generation for cleaner and green energy. The aim of this paper is to find the energy potential of India in terms of sources, per-capita energy consumption and the main potential consumers. Comparing consumption of fossil fuels and Renewable energy sources (RES) of India in 2019 and 2020 and finally to find whether there is any change in energy generation of two solar power plants in different geographical location of India with the help of independent t-test statistics. In this paper two statistical analysis are proposed. One is the statistical analysis of installed capacity, generation and consumption of fossil fuels and renewable energy in India. Other one is the statistical analysis of two solar power plants located at different geographical locations in India. From the statistical analysis it is found that, installed capacity of coal, RES and hydro is increased in 2020 as compared to 2019. Total demand in January 2020 is 2,77,140.33 MW whereas total installed capacity is 3,71,126 MW, this means that installed capacity is more but are not in running condition. From the statistical analysis of two independent solar power plants it is found that solar power plant-1 generates more energy but with high conversion loss hence poor efficiency.

The use of alternative energy sources, in particular solar energy, has gained rapid growth in recent years. This trend is prompting manufacturers of equipment for solar power plants to increase production volumes. At the same time, the question arises of the disposal of used modules, because each material has its service life. According to technical specifications, the average life of solar modules and batteries is 25-30 years. Decommissioning may occur earlier than this time due to the following reasons – moral and physical deterioration, mechanical damage, replacement of obsolete equipment with new, modernization of solar power plants. Already in 2030, it will be necessary to replace the solar modules installed in 2000. Therefore, there are acute questions not only regarding the development of technologies for processing waste equipment from solar power plants but also organizational and economic methods. This article discusses the main problems that arise during the utilization and recycling of solar modules, analyzes the experience of countries in resolving these issues. After all, the use of renewable energy sources should minimize the negative impact on the environment from energy production at all stages – from the production of equipment for a power plant to the disposal and recycling of this equipment. This paper investigates current and planned investments in new power plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina and impact of these investments on the energy sector, CO2 emission and internationally committed targets for electricity from renewable sources up to year 2020. Bosnia and Herzegovina possesses strong renewable energy potential, in particular hydro and biomass. However, the majority of energy production is conducted in outdated power plants and based on fossil fuels, resulting in environment pollution. New major investments The Stanari Thermal plant (300 MW) and the investment in Block 7 (450 MW) at the Thermal Plant Tuzla are again focused on fossil fuels. The power sector is also highly dependent on the hydrology as 54% of current capacities are based on large hydro power. In order to investigate how the energy system of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be affected by these investments and hydrology, the EnergyPLAN model was used. Based on the foreseen demand for year 2020 several power plants construction and hydrology scenarios have been modelled to cover a range of possibilities that may occur. This includes export orientation of Stanari plant, impact of wet, dry and average year, delayed construction of Tuzla Block 7, constrained construction of hydro power plants, and retirement of thermal units. It can be concluded that energy system can be significantly affected by delayed investments but in order to comply with renewables targets Bosnia and Herzegovina will need to explore the power production from other renewable energy sources as well.

This leads to a steady increase in prices. Renewable energy is clean, cost-effective and limitless. The considerable population growth and industrial growth have made the construction of solar power plants essential in developing countries. The study used Boolean logical-AHP techniques to select a suitable site for solar power in Duhok Governorate. The result indicated that 68.5% of the area in the governorate of Duhok is available for solar power station construction, especially the most appropriate zone which has 132.2 sq. km and can provide more than 8000 megawatts of solar energy. Most of the appropriate areas are in the south and southwest regions of the governorate, located mostly in the districts of Bardarash, Shekhan and Semel, situated between the major cities of Mosul, Erbil and Duhok. These locations can supply a significant amount of clean, renewable energy for these areas.

Romania was the first Eastern European country to be has joined the Partnership for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. The potential of Romania in the field of green energy production is as follows: 65% biomass, 17% wind energy, 12% solar energy, 4% micro hydro power plants, 1% + 1% photovoltaic + geothermal. Maximizing the full potential on the various green energy categories require serious investment and requires facilities granted to investors in this sector. Renewable energy sources can effectively contribute to increasing internal resources, which gives them a certain priority in energy policy.

Abstract The features of agricultural energy in the Krasnodar Territory are considered and two main problems are identified: the shortage of generating capacities and the remoteness of low-power consumers from centralized networks, for the solution of which renewable energy sources, including solar energy, can be used. The use of solar power plants at the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the region has been substantiated. The importance of automating the process of assessing the territory suitable for the placement of solar power facilities and the features of its implementation are substantiated. Criteria have been obtained that influence the choice of the optimal option for placing solar power facilities, based on the methodology for calculating the power and the amount of generated energy. The features of calculating the matrix of spatial characteristics for renewable energy facilities in the Krasnodar Territory are shown. An algorithm for creating a matrix of spatial data and an algorithm for choosing the optimal option for placing solar power plants are presented. The use of a high-level programming language Python is proposed to implement the created algorithm. The conclusion is made about the possibility of automating the process of assessing the efficiency of the placement of solar power plants in the Krasnodar Territory using modern computing technology in the format of a geoformation application developed in the Python programming language.

In the last few years, the world has been turning to the exploitation of renewable energy sources due to increased awareness of environmental protection and increased consumption of fossil fuels. In this research, by applying geographic information systems and integrating them with multi-criteria decision making methods, an area suitable for the construction and exploitation of renewable energy sources is determined. The research uses not only climate, spatial, environmental, and geomorphological parameters but also socioeconomic parameters, population, unemployment, and number of tourist nights as well as electricity consumption. By applying spatial analysis, rasters of all parameters were created using GRASS GIS software. Using the analytic hierarchy process, the calculated rasters are assigned with weight coefficients, and the sum of all those rasters gives the final raster of optimal locations for the construction of solar power plants in Croatia. To test the accuracy of the obtained results, sensitivity analysis was performed using different weight coefficients of the parameters. From the sensitivity analysis results, as well as a histogram and statistical indicators of the three rasters, it is apparent that raster F1 gives the best results. The most decisive parameters in determining the optimal solar plant locations that result from this research are GHI, land cover, and distance to the electricity network.

The research is aimed at analyzing and finding the reasons for the specific development of the solar energy market of Ukraine, defining the interaction on the part of the State and its role, furthermore the role of monopolists-generators and small generating equipment in private households. As result of the research, the following issues are considered: specifics of the formation of a share of the segment of solar power plants among renewable energy sources; the largest companies – solar energy generators in Ukraine; dynamics of changes in the «green» tariff and installed capacity of solar power plants over the past decade; development of the direction of small solar power plants installed by households and the largest generating regions of Ukraine by both the number and the installed capacity of the households’ SPP. Analyzing modern analytical reports on renewable energy generation, it is appropriate to note that a system of indicators, which is being created currently to reflect the real state of development of renewable energy, indicates a certain prospect of scientific research in this direction. Modern problems of development of the generating renewable energy market are defined, among which the following are defined: changes in legislation on the «green» tariff, which leads to changes in the investment climate and attractiveness of generation projects, the conflicting mechanisms of tariff auctions; potential threat of shortage of both storage and transport capacities (due to disproportionate development of generation volumes and its infrastructure support) etc. Based on the analysis of existing development trends, conclusions have been drawn about the future state and development of the solar energy generation market. The need to form a balanced national strategy for the development of renewable energy, taking into account the current conditions for reducing the «green» tariff and the cost of generating equipment, as well as taking into account the national interests of the State, the interests of monopolists and households, has been established.

In the article modern trends in the production of renewable energy were analyzed. It was determined that renewable energy sources have many undeniable advantages. First of all, they are much more environmentally friendly than traditional methods of generating energy based on the combustion of fossil fuels. Another advantage of renewable energy sources is their distribution. Unlike traditional energy fuel sources that units possess, renewable energy sources are available to most of the world's inhabitants. It was considered that today in the country there are a number of motivational tools that stimulate the development of green energy. It was proved that the ways of sustainization of the energy sector are associated with three main areas of energy use: electricity generation; heating and cooling of premises; driving vehicles. A system of subsidies for primary investments (purchase and installation of equipment), as well as the commercialization of «green» electricity (costs of entering the market, partial insurance of risks), is applied. It was determined that a separate page in the formation of alternative energy is the rivalry of two directions of its development, based on the creation of concentrated and deconcentrated (distributed) power plants. The first focuses on the concentration of production energy units (solar panels or wind turbines) in one area. The second direction is associated with the deconcentrating of energy sources, that is, the dispersal of individual capacities both across the territory and by forms of ownership. The transition to renewable energy sources is critical for most countries. This is one of the most important steps towards ensuring their energy independence and further restructuring of economic systems towards the formation of a «green» economy. It is gratifying that, along with other countries, Ukraine is making its efforts in this.
