Evaluation forms a major criterion in universities and higher educational institutes, for training expert human resources and producing knowledge and technology. Also important is evaluation of the teaching quality, for the accreditation and efficacy of a university and its academic faculties. This paper is a survey of the evaluation of teaching quality done based on surveying and comparing students’ and professors’ views among the business management, industrial management, and accounting departments in Persian Gulf University (PGU), Bushehr. A research-structured questionnaire was applied to measure and evaluate the teaching quality. The statistical population comprised of 1280 PGU students, including 28 faculty members and 276 persons randomly selected based on stratification sampling method. Content analysis was used for validity while Chronbach’s Alpha was used for reliability (α = 0.92). Findings based on T-test, ANOVA and other tests showed several effective factors impacting the attitude and evaluation of the teaching process quality. Keywords: Teaching process, quality evaluation, Persian Gulf University.

Although today the evaluation is concerned as one of the most significant processes of management in all of organizations, this issue has been much more paid attention in universities and higher education institutes for training expert human resources and producing knowledge and technology. Also, the evaluation of teaching quality is one of the major criterion for accreditation any university and efficacy of that university's academic faculties as well. This paper is to survey the attitude towards the evaluation of teaching quality done based on the surveying and comparing students' and professors' views among three groups of business management, industrial management, and accounting departments in Persian Gulf University in Bushehr. This is a descriptive-surveying study, so a research-structured questionnaire was applied to measure and evaluate the teaching quality. Statistical population consisted of 1280 students studying in Persian Gulf University among which 276 persons were randomly selected based on stratification sampling method and 28 faculty members. Content analysis was used for validity and Chronbach's Alpha was also used for reliability(α=0.92). Findings, based on T-test, ANOVA, Regression Analysis, Factor Analysis, and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, showed that the following indexes would be known as the effective factors on the attitude and evaluation of teaching process quality respectively: quality evaluation, satisfaction of evaluation results, keeping educational regulations, teaching style, applying education technology, student and professor exchange, awareness of evaluation goals, and entire satisfaction from research activities. Key words: Smart school, e-learning, software infrastructures.

Education sector plays a prominent role in the upliftment of society. Quality of professional life indicates the set of factors to fulfil the requirements of the related profession. This study attempts to identify the factors that affect the quality of professional life of faculty members working in Arts and Science Colleges in Vellore. Descriptive research design was adopted and simple random sampling method was used to collect data through a structured questionnaire. The factor analysis identified seven factors that affect the quality of professional life of faculty members. The outcome of the regression analysis is that out of seven factors, three factors namely Time management, Relationship management and Special approaches that enhance the quality of professional life that influence the dependent variable i.e faculty members professional life is role model to students, colleagues and college management. The study concluded that to bring quality professional life among faculty members, synergy effort needs to be adopted i.e management and faculty members are responsible for societal development.

Purpose Realizing the role of signals in the evaluation of teaching quality as well as the advantage of a set-theoretic approach to education research, the purpose of this paper is to employ a signaling framework and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to configure the roles of signal quality, including signal consistency, signal clarity, signal credibility and teaching investment in the teaching quality of Master of Business Administration (MBA) faculty members. Design/methodology/approach A sample of 342 MBA students in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was surveyed to collect the data. fsQCA was employed to configure the conditions – signal consistency, signal clarity, signal credibility and teaching investment – for the occurrence of teaching quality, and structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the net effects of these conditions on teaching quality. Findings fsQCA findings reveal that teaching investment combines with signal clarity, signal consistency and signal credibility to form sufficient conditions for the occurrence of teaching quality. SEM results confirm the net effects of these conditions on teaching quality. Practical implications This study suggests that MBA faculty members should invest in their teaching and send clear, consistent and credible signals to their students in order to enhance their teaching quality perceived by their students. Originality/value The application of signaling theory to evaluate teaching quality, which has largely been ignored in prior research, and the use of fsQCA to better understand the complexity of necessary and sufficient conditions for teaching quality are two contributions of this study to the literature.

The Markov chain model teaching evaluation method is a quantitative analysis method based on probability theory and stochastic process theory, which establishes a stochastic mathematical model to analyse the quantitative relationship in the change and development process of real activities. Applying it to achieve a more comprehensive, reasonable, and effective evaluation of the classroom teaching quality of college teachers is of positive significance for promoting the continuous improvement of the teaching level of teachers and the teaching quality of schools. Therefore, after an in-depth study of Markov chain algorithm theory, this research proposes an improved Markov chain hybrid teaching quality evaluation model and designs comparative experiments and applies it to the hybrid teaching quality evaluation system of universities, designs a corresponding hybrid teaching quality evaluation model, and finally verifies its effectiveness through experiments. The mathematical model of mixed classroom teaching quality evaluation given in this research focuses on the development and change of the teaching process. For the teaching process that is closely related to the causality of teaching quality, the model established in this paper is more objective and reasonable for evaluating the quality of teaching.

The goal of Higher Education Commission is to develop and implement quality across all university activities and making it compatible with international practices. The faculty is required to have ability in designing, maintaining and updating curricula, when measuring the quality of an institute or of teaching; designing syllabus is the basic required skill. This study aims to analyze perception, syllabus designing skills and practices of faculty members in universities. This research is quantitative, structured questionnaire and document analyses were used for data collection. Results showed faculty have no related training; rules for designing syllabus are not followed. It is recommended that training sessions should be organized to developing syllabus designing skills of university faculty. Standard guidelines should be developed by quality assurance bodies.

The Kolb model is widely used to analyze the learning style of engineering students; however, there are no published studies carried out in Portugal. This study was applied to students who had just began there courses at a Portuguese engineering school. This study object is to assess whether there is a clearly majority learning style; whether there are differences in the learning style among all students and between students in the industrial management course and those in the technological engineering courses. The results allow the pedagogical practice improvement in the classroom regarding the effectiveness increase of the teaching process. This study results also allow improving the way students approach the study, overcoming difficulties in understanding the topics studied, improving the construction of their skills and increasing the quality of the learning process.

This research is meant to explain the problem solving efford which is found in academic supervision toward teachers of Mathematics in some guided schools, explains the problem solving steps by the supervisor in guided schools, and shows the teaching quality improvement by the Mathematics teachers in those guded schools. This research was done to some guded schools where ten Mathematics teachers of Senior High Schools or Vocational High School in Kulon Progo District are the subject. The strategy for improving the quality of Mathematics teaching application is through treatment of companion teaching in active sharing knowledge for instance through planning, the step of treatment in the teaching, teaching procedures and class management. The result of acompaniying the teachers of Mathematics shows that Mathematics teachers in Kulon Progo Distric still need some guidance from the supervisors especially in term of innovative teaching process, where most teachers lack of motivation, the Active Sharing Knowledge method can improve the activism of the teachers through out the whole teaching activities, improve the quality of teaching process, students’ activism, concept mastery and teacher’s skills in teaching process as can be seen as followed: the teaching quality of Mathematics teachers using Active Sharing Knowledge is 5%, student’s participations is 46%, while teachers’ mastery of the concept is 14%, and positive reflection as a result of Mathematics Teachers guided teaching implementation using Active Sharing Knowledge where 84% stated agree and totally agree.
