Performance in paid work has for many years been studied as an important form of individual and group behavior, with researchers and practitioners often aiming for its enhancement through job design, staff selection and development, or shaping managerial style and organizational culture. In parallel with this interest in performance, psychologists in employment settings have also worked to understand the sources and consequences of well-being, motivation and performance. These three variables are examined together in the assessing the employee well-being in small-sized construction organization in Ekiti State. Employee well-being is considered as an important tool for enhancing worker’s performance and construction sector is not an exception. It has been empirically established that well-being has positive impact on construction worker’s performance. Moreover, empirical studies have shown that performance in the sector has been decreasing globally. This study therefore aims at understand the demanding working environment of the construction industry and the factors which lead to employees being troubled. The researcher was of the opinion that an improved well-being of employees can significantly improve the organization productivity. Quantitative research design was employed with same questionnaire administered on the population covered. Random sampling techniques were used to select small-sized construction organization sampled from a selected population in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Purposive sampling was used to administer questionnaires to various employees. 75questionnaires were administered to employee collectively and 70 was filled and returned which constitute 93.3% success rate. Questionnaire was designed in Likert scale of 1-5. Analysis was done by statistical packages for social sciences version 17. Descriptive statistics which include mean percentile and tables were used to present the data. One Way Analysis of Variance was used to determine whether there is relationship between well-being and organization performance. Data analysis and results on the factors affecting small-sized construction organization employee well-being indicates that there is a statistically significant linear relationship between well-being and performance. The result also revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between well-being and employee’s performance which reinforces the reinforcement and expectancy theory of remuneration especially the concept of Thorndike’s Law of Effect meaning a response followed by a reward is more likely to recur in the future. The study concluded that well-being has impact on employees and organization performance and recommend that the employers of labor both private and government must not take the well-being of their employees for granted because it will result in low productivity.

Public sector banks have been merged by the government in the last few years. This is the rationale behind conducting this study. The purpose of this article is to determine the factors affecting the performance of public sector banks in India and the interrelationship between bank-specific determinants and performance of public sector banks. In this article, we shall analyse the financial data of all the public sector commercial banks for a period spread across 11 years (2009–2019); Capital adequacy, Assets quality, Management efficiency, Earning, and Liquidity (CAMEL) has been used as a performance determinant; system generalised method of moments (GMM) analysis has been used to find the effect of determinants on the performance measurement of public sector banks; and CCA (canonical correlation analysis) has been used to find the interrelationship between the bank-specific determinants and the performance of public sector banks. The finding has important implications in terms of performance in the banking sector. Certain limitations of this study are: It is based on secondary data. The study only covers the financial aspects and not the non-financial aspects. It is found that the asset quality is negatively related with performance of public sector banks. Liquidity and inflation are inversely related to performance of public sector banks in India. Capital adequacy is positively related with banks’ performance, but inversely related with banks’ interest margin. GDP growth has a significant positive impact on banks’ performance, but inversely related with banks’ interest income. Inflation rate is inversely related with banks’ performance. Banking sector reforms are insignificantly related with banks’ performance.

The purpose of this study is identify factors that affect students motivation in  learning Arabic among lower secondary level students at Naim Lilbanat National Religious Secondary School (SMKA), Kota Bharu, Kelantan. To achieve this purpose, four objectives have been outlined; to identify the level of students performance in Arabic, to identify the level of students interest towards Arabic, to identify factors that affect students motivation towards Arabic and to evaluate the relationship between motivation and students performance in Arabic. This quantitative research used questionnaires for collecting data. 93 students at lower secondary level at SMKA Naim Lilbanat were selected by simple random technique as the sample that represent 40% of the research population. A pilot study was conducted to ensure the quality of feasibility, validity and reliability of the instrument. The validity of items was obtained by referring to 10 experts of the subject matter. Coefficient of reliability value was obtained at a high level that is 0.86 through Cronbach Alpha test using SPSS version 19. The study found that 88 (94.6%) respondents have a good performance in Arabic and 78 (83.9%) respondents have a good interest towards Arabic. According to this study, five factors that affect students motivation in descending order are: attitude toward Arabic as they consider it as important, Arabic environment, attitude toward Arabic as they consider it as easy to learn and understand, self-awareness and the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the classroom. The Pearson correlation test showed that there is a positive significant relationship at a moderate level between level of interest and performance of Arabic among lower secondary level students at SMKA Naim Lilbanat.   Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang membentuk motivasi terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Arab dalam kalangan pelajar peringkat menengah rendah di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Naim Lilbanat, Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Bagi mencapai tujuan tersebut, empat objektif telah digariskan iaitu mengenal pasti tahap pencapaian pelajar bagi mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab, mengenal pasti tahap minat pelajar terhadap mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab, mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi pelajar terhadap mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab dan menguji hubungan tahap motivasi pelajar dengan pencapaian Bahasa Arab. Kajian ini berbentuk kuantitatif dan menggunakan soal selidik sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Seramai 93 orang pelajar peringkat menengah rendah di SMKA Naim Lilbanat telah dipilih secara rawak mudah sebagai sampel yang merupakan 40% daripada jumlah populasi kajian. Satu kajian rintis telah dijalankan bagi menjamin kualiti kebolehlaksanaan, kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan instrumen. Kesahan instrumen diperoleh secara merujuk kepada 10 orang pakar bidang. Nilai keefisienan kebolehpercayaan item diperoleh pada tahap tinggi iaitu 0.86 daripada ujian Alpha Cronbach menggunakan perisian SPSS versi 19. Kajian ini mendapati 88 orang (94.6%) responden mempunyai pencapaian yang baik dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab. Kajian ini juga mendapati 78 orang (83.9%) responden mempunyai tahap minat yang baik terhadap mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab. Lima faktor yang paling mempengaruhi motivasi pelajar secara turutan menurun ialah: sikap terhadap mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab yang dianggap penting, persekitaran bahasa Arab, sikap terhadap mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab yang dianggap mudah dipelajari dan difahami, kesedaran diri dan keberkesanan pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam bilik darjah. Ujian korelasi Pearson memperlihatkan wujud hubungan positif yang signifikan pada kadar sederhana antara tahap motivasi dan pencapaian Bahasa Arab dalam kalangan pelajar peringkat menengah rendah di SMKA Naim Lilbanat.

Traditionally, assessment of animal welfare generally focused on physiological signs of health with less consideration of psychological well-being. More recently, the Five Domains model highlighted the concept of all aspects of an animal's life influencing their affective state. In equestrianism, however, there is a lack of awareness of the Five Domains model and, specifically, how different factors may affect the mental well-being of horses (Equus caballus). This divide between scientific research and lay horse owners could compromise equine welfare by failing to recognise horses as sentient beings with species-specific needs. The present study therefore aimed to explore how evidence-based information can be effectively communicated to equestrians (n = 259) through an online survey and whether increased knowledge of equine welfare needs has any impact on horse caregivers' assessment of their own horses' quality of life. Results showed that a simple educational infographic based on the Five Domains model had a significant impact on equestrians' assessment of equine welfare, although longitudinal, empirical studies are needed. Scores on a Likert scale for health, behaviour/human interactions and overall welfare were significantly lower following the intervention but scores for emotional well-being were significantly higher. This may suggest that, whilst the infographic increased participant awareness of the importance of emotional state and the factors affecting welfare, there were difficulties or inconsistencies in objectively assessing these emotions. This highlights the need for equine welfare science to be communicated more proactively to horse owners in an accessible, engaging format.

Purpose This study aims to identify the business benefit of and factors affecting the use of social customer relationship management (SCRM) in Indian organizations. Design/methodology/approach Building on theoretical foundations, a conceptual model of factors affecting SCRM in Indian organizations is developed and empirically tested through a survey and corresponding analysis using SPSS and AMOS software. Findings The study presents empirical evidence that technological competence, environmental characteristics and organizational environment positively impact the actual use of SCRM on Indian organizations. Additionally, leadership support of organizations impacts positively the actual use of SCRM in organizations, while the trust factor insignificantly impacts the latter. The actual use of SCRM in organizations was found to have a positive impact on their business benefits. Research limitations/implications The theoretical model is built on the constructs of the technology, environment and organizational framework. It has added new factors, such as leadership support and trust, and thereby identified the business benefits of organizations using SCRM mediating through the organizations’ actual use of SCRM. The proposed model is simple, implementable and has a high explanative power of 81 per cent. Practical implications The study provides practitioners with evidence and practicable knowledge regarding the means and impact/benefits of SCRM use in Indian organizations. Originality/value The study is one of few empirical studies on the topic and contributes valuable knowledge to extant works through additional factors, theoretical conceptualization and empirical scientific findings of both scholarly and executive worth.

This research based on factors affecting Job Satisfaction among the female teachers in Private Schools of Naushahro Feroze. Job satisfaction is an important topic in aca-demic and business practices. The salary scale, coworkers’ relationship scale, and working environment scale measure job satisfaction in this study. Researchers applied the quantitative research and numerical analysis of the data using the random sam-pling method. The study was held only on female teachers who work in the education sector in Private Schools in District Naushahro Feroze and filled the survey question-naires. The questionnaires were analyzed through IBM SPSS 16. Then co-relation test was used for hypothesis proving and to see the relationship between variables.

This research aimed to 1. Study factors of supplier quality management and production quality management that affect organization performance.2. Confirm the structural models that affect organization performance. This study was mixed methods research. The quantitative research consisted of 13 observable variables, which collected data from 260 medium and small companies in Thailand. The qualitative research collected data from a focus group of experts involved in organizational management, quality management, and supplier management of nine experts. The research results were found that 1. The structural model of organization performance in Small and Medium Enterprises in Thailand were consistent and harmonious with empirical data, with consistency values of c2= 94.89, df = 61, c2/ df = 1.56, CFI = 0.98, GFI = 0.95, SRMR = 0.049, RMSEA = 0.046. 2. Factors affecting organization performance are factors of Supplier Quality Management, and Production Quality Management, respectively.

Students’ performance (academic achievement) is fundamental in producing quality graduates. Many empirical studies are conducted to investigate factors affecting university students’ performance. The focus of this study is to measure the relationship between students and lecturers interaction, lecturers’ characteristics and lecturers’ knowledge and performance in financial reporting course using Framework-based Teaching Approach. The present study prefers a survey method. Questionnaires are used as an instrument in this study and are distributed to students taking Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting 1 (FAR610) during semester March-July 2017 at Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi Mara Puncak Alam, Malaysia. Data were randomly selected dan analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Based on the response from 91 students, the results show that only lecturers’ knowledge is positive and significantly related to financial reporting performance. The students and lecturers interaction and lecturers’ characteristics do not relate to the students’ performance in financial reporting course. The result could facilitate lecturers to understand and find new ways that may be applied at the beginning of the course to improve students’ performance.

The research focuses deeply on and evaluates the factors affecting financial management of educational managers training and fostering institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is a very specific model for countries in transition economies as in Vietnam, a country is in the process of comprehensive renovation, restructuring public service delivery institutions, increasing the assignment of self-responsibility to institutions, reducing financial pressure on the State budget. Using qualitative and quantitative research methods together with techniques, i.e., testing reliability scales with Cronbach's alpha coefficients, exploratory factor analysis EFA, CFA and linear model SEM, the study investigated 500 samples in 07 educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The findings revealed six (06) factors, which are internal control system, technology infrastructure, top managers’ commitment, cash management and budget system, organizational responsibility, affected the financial reporting system, and meanwhile, the financial reporting system has a positive impact on the financial management. Based on this result, the study has proposed implications for improving financial management in educational managers training and fostering institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Two different research streams are encountered in the job crafting literature. The first, defined as task, cognitive, and relational job crafting by Wrzesniewski and Dutton (2001), has predominantly applied qualitative research designs to explore how employees craft their jobs to better align them with their preferences, abilities, and motivations to enhance work meaning and identity. The second stream, characterized by crafting job demands and job resources (Tims & Bakker, 2010), focuses mostly on quantitative research designs and examines the antecedents of job crafting and whether those antecedents are related to work-related well-being and performance. Although the quantitative studies have recently been meta-analyzed (Lichtenthaler & Fischbach, 2018; Rudolph, Katz, Lavigne, & Zacher, 2017), the knowledge that is captured in the qualitative studies has not been formally integrated. We contribute to a better understanding of job crafting by conducting a meta-synthesis of the qualitative research. Analyzing 24 qualitative studies, we developed a process model of job crafting that enhances an in-depth understanding of the processes associated with job crafting. More specifically, we highlight the motives for job crafting (i.e., proactive or reactive) and how the specific context may influence the form of job crafting in which individuals engage. Next, the process model shows that personal factors connect job crafting forms to the experienced job crafting consequences. The process model enables a better understanding of the conditions under which job crafting is most likely to generate positive or negative experiences.

Aims and methodThe concept of personal resilience is relevant to physician well-being, recruitment and retention, and to delivering compassionate patient care. This systematic review aims to explore factors affecting personal resilience among psychiatrists, in particular, those that may impair well-being and those that facilitate resilience practice. A literature search was performed of the Ovid®, Embase®, CINAHL and PsycINFO databases, using keywords to identify empirical studies involving psychiatrists that examined resilience, stress and burnout from the past 15 years.ResultsThirty-three international English language studies were included, showing that a combination of workplace, personal and non-workplace factors negatively and positively influenced well-being and resilience.Clinical implicationsGiven that workplace factors were the most commonly cited, it would appear that any resilience package that predominantly targets interventions at the workplace level would be particularly fruitful. Future research, however, needs to address the absence of a universal measurement of well-being and its moderators so that any potential interventions are better evaluated.
