This study demonstrates through a case study that detailed analyses, even after the construction of a project, are feasible using current technologies and available data. A case study of highway 25 is used to illustrate the method and verify the levels of air contaminants from additionally induced traffic during and after the construction of highway. Natural traffic growth was removed from the effect of observed gas emissions by comparing observed levels on other further locations in the same metropolitan area. This study estimates air pollution from the additional traffic during and after the construction of A-25 extension project. NO2 levels were spatially interpolated during peak and off-peak hour traffic and traffic density simulated on the road network for four scenarios. Comparing the four scenarios, it was found that levels of NO2 concentrations were reduced at neighbor areas due to less traffic during the construction period. Levels of NO2 after the construction were higher than those in 2008. The simulated traffic density for four scenarios revealed that traffic density was significantly increased on both arterial and access roads within the close vicinity of the extension project during and after its construction.

Qmall Banjarbaru is located at Jalan Ahmad Yani KM. 37. The existence of Qmall Banjarbaru caused the impact of increased traffic density and decreased speed in the surrounding road network. With the increasing movements that occur from Qmall Banjarbaru, it will potentially be the cause of congestion between vehicles that will enter the Qmall Banjarbaru with vehicles moving straight on Jalan Ahmad Yani KM. 37. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of delay entrance parking Qmall Banjarbaru against the performance of Jalan Ahmad Yani KM. 37.This research conducted a field survey that aims to find volume data on the road, the time of parking door service, the number of vehicles that enter the parking, the time delay the parking door, and the length of the delay that occurs on the parking door. From the results of data analysis using the Calculation of field survey (realistic) data obtained the distance of the parking door previously 16.5 meters to be redated to 25 meters and the parking door that originally had two doors of parking service made into three doors parking service. This change was made to delay enter parking Qmall Banjarbaru does not reach Jalan Ahmad Yani Km. 37.

Jl. Yos Sudarso is one of the centers of movement in Tarakan or a business zone. Jl. Yos Sudarso has experienced an increase in road load and a decrease in the level of road services which will eventually cause traffic problems, namely the effectiveness of reduced traffic performance. To find out the analysis of traffic performance due to the arrangement of the vehicle movement system on Yos Sudarso Tarakan road, traffic surveys are carried out, such as traffic volume, traffic speed, road capacity, and degree of saturation. After the road performance analysis, the characteristics and conditions of the road were obtained, the average total volume was 1399.92 pcu / hour, the average degree of saturation on the Yos Sudarso road in the direction of Kusuma Bangsa was 0.53, while the direction of Mulawarman was 0,55. Thus the average performance along Yos Sudarso road includes the C service level. By looking at these conditions it is necessary to increase the clear traffic flow regulation system such as traffic signal so that it can reduce the congestion that occurs on these roads. The construction of the coastal road frontage line and the construction of the access road network will provide benefits in the form of a road network in the western part of Tarakan city, reducing traffic density points.

Optimization of traffic on a large public road network is a complex task. Reversible direction lane theory is an interesting and special method within this subject. This can completely support the fluctuation or alteration of main congested directions existing in the traffic dynamics (time of day, seasonal, etc.) on the existing road surfaces. In such case, certain subsystems of the main network cease to exist, and subsystems working with new connections take their place. This type of routing therefore changes the structure of the system ‘in an optimal direction’, but many practical and safety questions arise. The authors have examined the modelling of a Reversible Lane System (RLS) created based on a simple part of a road network, which is segmented into elements. Functions of each network element and contacts between them cease operating in the course of such change while new contacts and new function elements are activated instead. The article presents the mathematical modelling of the problem. It points out the fundamental questions of the structure change and exemplifies the above using a simple example. The authors studied a general mathematical model describing the RLS. They examined the availability of the optimal control in a sample network depending on the traffic density, using a new principle, which responds to the dynamic change of the structure of the network graph. It can be shown, that the results from the model are in harmony with the real traffic values based on measurements made in road traffic systems working with RLS.

Abstrack The road network which is the main means of land transportation becomes very significant,

because as we know the road is the lifeblood of the economy, while increasing economic

indispensable as supporting the development. Abstract: This research aims to analyze the impact of Janti Flyover Construction toward the growth of layout at Janti Urban Area, including structured space, open space, and linkage. Method used for data collecting are observation, air photograph monitoring, and interview, whereas the analysis method is qualitative description, which is the superimposed method of two layers, that are the layout condition before and after flyover construction. The result shows that the impact of Janti Flyover construction can be seen on building mass (solid), the increasing number of open spaces, including the road network, parking place, and park, whereas the relation between spaces, visually and structurally, can be seen on the growth of buildings which have new shapes and styles, therefore the performance of the overall building does not have a proportional shape. Considering Janti Street at the collective relation, its role is getting stronger as the main frame road network. Keywords: Flyover construction, layout changing, Janti AreaAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembangunan Jalan Layang Janti terhadap perkembangan tata ruang Kawasan Janti, meliputi ruang terbangun, ruang terbuka, serta hubungan antar ruang (“linkage”).

Optimal layout of a forest road network The road network is the backbone of forest management. When creating or redesigning a forest road network, one important question is how to shape the layout, this means to fix the spatial arrangement and the dimensioning standard of the roads. We consider two kinds of layout problems. First, new forest road network in an area without any such development yet, and second, redesign of existing road network for actual requirements. For each problem situation, we will present a method that allows to detect automatically the optimal road and harvesting layout. The method aims to identify a road network that concurrently minimizes the harvesting cost, the road network cost (construction and maintenance) and the hauling cost over the entire life cycle. Ecological issues can be considered as well. The method will be presented and discussed with the help of two case studies. The main benefit of the application of optimization tools consists in an objective-based planning, which allows to check and compare different scenarios and objectives within a short time. The responses coming from the case study regions were highly positive: practitioners suggest to make those methods a standard practice and to further develop the prototype to a user-friendly expert software.
