Background: A slum and Resettlement Colony in a Metro is always vulnerable to diseases, social evils, political instigations and riots etc. The Community Health Department of a Tertiary Care Hospital which is situated in one such area has an Integrated Health Unit with 6 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs). The aim of this study is to find out whether there is an increase in the knowledge of area population regarding Nutrition, Hypertension, Diabetes, and Mental Health when Health education was imparted using Health Modules. Methodology: A little more than 5% sample of total area people was selected using purposive sampling technique after meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A pre-test was conducted by ANMs, using a structured questionnaire in Hindi language after obtaining verbal consent. Health education was imparted using Health Modules on these four subjects. One and a half months later post-test was conducted using the same structured questionnaire. Result: Total scores were added for each person for each topic. There were 333 (10.96%) males and 2705 (89.04%) females, making a total of 3038. The mean pre-test scores for Nutrition, Hypertension, Diabetes and Mental Health for respondents were 4.4±1.12, 5.89±1.47, 4.25±1.88 and 8.02±0.99 respectively. The mean post-test scores showed highly statistically significant improvement 1 and ½ months after the Health Education for Nutrition, Hypertension, Diabetes respectively (5.52±1.04; p<0.0001,t=-3.9077), (7.15±1.35; p<0.0001,t=1.256), and (6.26±1.66 p<0.0001). But the mean post-test score for Mental Health (8.05±0.87;p=0.2097,t=0.03809) was not statistically significant. Conclusion:The results of the study demonstrated that the health education through health modules is an effective way of improving the health-knowledge of slum people.

Aim: Adolescence is a time of transition from childhood to adulthood, when young people go through a number of vital physical and psychological developments. It is surprising yet unfortunate that the number of teenage suicide deaths and teenage infections of gonorrhea have increased over the years, becoming serious public health concerns in Taiwan. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of an education course on teenagers' understanding of adolescence and their attitudes toward life, sex, gender equality, and mental health.Material and Methods: Participants were comprised of Taiwanese students in Grades 5 to 9 who completed a Life–Sex–Emotions course, titled “Sailing through Adolescence.” The effect of the course was measured using pre- and post-test scores on the Perception Index of Life–Sex–Emotions Education (PILSEE) instrument. Qualitative data included subjective responses to questions before and after the course. Data were collected between September 2017 and June 2020.Results: A total of 10,506 completed questionnaires were collected. The mean PILSEE pretest scores for each subscale ranged from 8.71 to 13.37 (SD = 1.499–1.99); posttest subscale scores ranged from 9.30 to 13.95 (SD range = 1.490–2.288). The mean overall pretest score was 86.86 (SD = 10.83); the mean posttest score was 92.62 (SD = 10.30). The paired t-test demonstrated that post-test scores were significantly higher than pretest scores (t = 55.46; p &lt; 0.01). Qualitative feedback indicated that the course improved students' self-esteem, their understanding adolescence, and awareness of influences of the media.Conclusion: Our findings indicate that an educational course about life, sex, and emotions during adolescence can be an effective intervention to help teenagers understand the impact of adolescence on attitudes toward life, sex, mental health, and gender equality.

This study aims to enhance students’ writing skills through Daily Journal writing. This research was divided into three steps: giving pre-test, giving treatment (writing daily journal), and giving posttest. The result showed significant difference between control and experimental group. Experimental participants was improved through the writing of daily journal, and the score gained by participants showed that there was a significant effect on students’ writing skills. The achievements showed that the mean difference of post-test scores between the two groups was -.45433 and for the standard error mean was .03840 with pValue .050 (see Table 3), means that Ha is accepted and Ho is not accepted. Newborn babies constitute the foundation of life. The birth of a baby is one of the most awe inspiring and emotional events that can occur in one’s life time. In India most the mothers are not aware of management regarding minor disorder of newborn (vomiting, diarrhea, physiological jaundice conjunctivitis, umbilical cord infection, skin rashes etc). Mother plays an important role in the identifying minor developmental deviation and early evidences of the disease process because she is constantly and closely watching her baby. Methodology: pre experimental (one group pretest and posttest) design was adopted for this study. The study was conducted at postnatal ward AIIMS Raipur with sample size of 30 primipara mothers. Non probability convenient sampling technique was adopted to select the sample. The data was collected by means of self-structured questionnaire to assess the knowledge among primipara mothers. Result: The mean score of pre-test was 15.36 and mean score of post-test was 22.4 and the mean improvement was 7.04, which is 45.83% of total primipara mothers. The paired ‘t’ value obtained for knowledge was 10.41 which was found significant at 0.05 level (p<0.05) which is 2.05. Which result shows that significantly an improvement in the knowledge of the primipara mothers after the structured teaching programme (STP) on selected minor ailments of newborn.

Precision mental health (MH) holds great potential for revolutionizing MH care and reducing the burden of mental illness. Efforts to engage Asian Americans in precision MH research is necessary to help reduce MH disparities. Korean drama (“K-drama”) television shows may be an effective educational tool to increase precision MH knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors (KAB) among Asian Americans. This study determined whether KAB improved after participating in a K-drama precision MH workshop, and examined the participants’ perspectives about K-dramas’ utility as an educational tool. A K-drama precision MH workshop in English/Vietnamese/Korean was conducted with a convenience sample (n = 122). Pre-/post-tests on precision MH KAB (genetics and genetic testing, and MH and help-seeking) and a survey on K-dramas’ utility as an educational tool were administered. Findings revealed a significant difference in the pre- and post-test KAB scores overall, by genetics and genetic testing, and by MH and help-seeking. There were also significant increases in the overall post-test KAB scores by workshop (language) participation. Overall, participants responded positively on the utility of K-dramas as a precision MH educational tool. This study demonstrates the feasibility of K-drama as an innovative and widely available health education tool to educate communities about precision MH.

Objective The present study was conducted with the objective of investigating the effectiveness of solution-focused group counseling (SFGC) on promoting the mental health of midwifery students. Methods The present study is an intervention-based study with a pretest, a post-test, and a control group. The statistical population included all of the midwifery students studying in the midwifery department of the Bam University of Medical Sciences, Kerman, Iran, who filled out the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) in the screening phase. In the second phase, 40 individuals, having a low level of mental health based on the cutoff score of 23, were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups (intervention and control), each group with 20 participants. The intervention group participated in 5 sessions of 75 minutes for SFGC. Then, the post-test was held in both groups and the data analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney and the Kruskal-Wallis test with IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 21.0 (IBM Corp, Armonk, NY, USA). The significance level was considered as p < 0.05. Results The findings showed that the mean of the post-test mental health scores of the intervention group (14.5 ± 50.35) and of the control group (23.6 ± 35.83) showed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.0001). Moreover, the comparison between the mean scores of the mental health subscales (physical symptoms, stress, social performance, and depression) showed a statistically significant difference in these groups, and SFGC improved physical symptoms, stress, social performance, and depression in the members of the intervention group. Conclusion Solution-focused group counseling may improve all levels of mental health. This type of counseling is recommended to be used to solve the psychological problems and to improve the mental health of students, as well as of the staff of the health system.

The purpose of this research to know effect of health education with spiritual approach based video toward adherence fluid restriction or interdialysis weight gain of patients  undergoing hemodialysis. This is a pre experimental onegroup pretest post test. Using total sampling method 22 patients. The mean of samples interdialysis weight gain total score after education was significantly decrease than before education p value 0.011. While proved there was significantly between the adherence fluid restriction patients undergoing hemodialysis will be increas after health education spiritual approach with video based controlled by family support p value 0, 047 while proved was no significantly  between the ages of p value 0.364, education level alue 0.949 to interdialysis weight gain of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Health education with spiritual approach to improve adherence fluid restriction in patients undergoing hemodialysis, which is expected to implemented in order clinic especially patients who undergoing hemodialysis therapy who experienced non-compliance restrictions fluid. The purpose of this research is to investigate of using jigsaw technique to improve reading comprehension at the tenth grade students in SMAN 1 Ngamprah. The total number of sample in this study was 60 students in two classes. It used pre-experimental design that applies in the treatments to measure the significant scores pre-test and post-test. Pre-test was applied in the first meeting. Whereas post-test was applied after the treatments given. After given pre-test and post-test, the researcher got the mean scores in both of the class. There are 57.00 and 80.17 in experimental class and the control class are respectively 57.00 and 79.17. The result show that using jigsaw technique had the positive effect in improving reading comprehension because there was a significant post- test scores of students in two classes with the level significance 0.05. The significance in post-test is 0.355 it was higher than 0.05. It concluded that students’ response toward the implementation of jigsaw technique is effective because they are enjoyed and interested in the learning process. Moreover, the jigsaw technique could help them to improve their reading comprehension.

Objective: Puberty is the most prominent stage of life. The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of puberty health education on promoting of its awareness in girls. Methods: In an interventional quasi-experimental study (pre and post test), awareness, attitude and practice of 500 high school first grade student girls evaluated before and after health education in Yazd in 2004- 2005 . Results: Mean age of menarche was 13.46±1.12. Over ninty three percent (93.6%) of girls had a previous information about menstruation where mother was the major source (53%). Good and poor knowledge were seen in 36% and 28.6% respectively but practice was seen in 24.4% and 32.8% respectively. 85.2% of girls believed that menarche is evidence of health, but in 91.6% girl’s menarche was associated with worry and shame. Negative psychological attitude about menstruation was seen in 59.8%. The mean number of knowledge and practice before and after intervention was 5.3±2.9, 11.8±2.18 and 4.3± 1.8 and 10.2 ± 2.3 respectively (PV =0.0001). Conclusion: Educational programs are needed for girls and their mothers to correct misinformation about exercise, food restrictions and good health puberty and menarche. AbstractThe study was conducted to identify the effect of foot reflexology on the quality of life among menopausal women employed in various schools from 01.08.2011 to 01.10.2011. An evaluative approach with one group pre-test post-test design was used for the study. The present study was conducted among various schools in Mangalore. The collected data from 117 samples were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Distribution of the samples based on the quality of life revealed that 78.6% had a good quality of life, 15.4% had an average quality of life and 6% had a very good quality of life. With regard to the menopausal symptoms, 55.6%, 24.8% and 19.7% experienced mild, moderate and severe symptoms respectively. 52 women with moderate to severe symptoms were selected and administered foot reflexology for 10 consecutive days. The mean post-test scores of the subjects in the quality of life was 59.43 were significantly greater than the mean pre-test score of 53.89 and the mean post-test scores in the menopausal symptoms was 16.82 which was significantly lower than the mean pre-test score of 21.82. The study also revealed a negative correlation (r= -0.653, p<0.005) between the quality of life and menopausal symptoms. There was significant association between the demographic variables and the quality of life.

This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of an online high-intensity interval training (HIIT) intervention and health education on the behaviors, mental health, and cognitive function of sedentary young females. A single-blinded, six-week, randomized controlled pilot trial involving 70 sedentary young Chinese females, aged 18–30 years, was conducted. An intervention group (IG) (n = 33) underwent a HIIT intervention and health education, while a waitlist group (WG) (n = 37) only received health education. In pre-, mid-, and post-tests, both groups filled out questionnaires about physical activity, sedentary behavior, and mental health. Cognitive functions were assessed at the pre- and post-tests by computer-administered cognitive tests. A mixed-effect model with repeated measures was used to analyze outcomes of interest. The retention rate of the IG and WG was 100% and 78.38%, respectively. The IG were found to have significantly increased rates of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) (Mdiff = 940.61, p < 0.001, 95% confidence interval (95% CI): 576.67, 1304.55) from pre-test to post-test, while the WG demonstrated a more marked reduction in sedentary time (Mdiff = −73.02, p = 0.038, 95% CI: −141.90, −4.14) compared with the IG in the post-test. Moreover, anxiety and stress levels were shown to significantly reduce in the IG over the six-week period (Mdiff = −4.73, p = 0.002, 95% CI: −7.30, −2.15 and Mdiff = −5.09, p = 0.001, 95% CI: −8.29, −1.89, respectively). In addition, we observed a significant improvement in verbal ability (p = 0.008, ηp2 = 0.19) following the HIIT intervention and effects of the interaction with time on processing speed (p = 0.050, ηp2 = 0.10) and episodic memory (p = 0.048, ηp2 = 0.11). Moreover, the IG had better global cognitive performance than the WG in the post-test (Mdiff = 8.28, p = 0.003, 95% CI: 3.06, 13.50). In summary, both an online bodyweight HIIT intervention combined with health education, or health education alone, can effectively improve health-related behaviors, but the behavioral consequences may differ based on the emphasis of different intervention modalities. Furthermore, the “bodyweight HIIT plus health education” modality might be a more promising online intervention strategy to mitigate against negative emotions and improve cognitive function.
