Today, both in science and in everyday life, there is an increased interest in the concept of the human body. For a modern person, his body becomes that essential condition that largely determines professional, social and even personal success. It can even be said that the concept of the body is today one of the aspects of the social concept of a person and his place in society. Indeed, there is a clear trend towards an increase in the consumption of services aimed at meeting the need for the formation of a healthy and beautiful body: sports clubs and gyms, home exercise equipment, diet food, body shaping services in a variety of ways, etc. The conducted research has shown that despite the elaboration of the question of self-physical in theoretical terms, there is a certain lack of research in this area with a practical focus. Today, in state policy, the priority is to orient the population towards a healthy lifestyle. Consequently, for psychologists, the targeting of psychotherapy methods should be to help people with different attitudes to a healthy lifestyle. In order for such recommendations to be really useful and scientifically substantiated, it is advisable to identify significant differences in the understanding of the physical self by people with different attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle.

Human health, in addition to social and spiritual well-being, is determined by its physical condition, which reflects the functional capabilities of the body, features of physical development and ensures working capacity in any activity, including academic workload, which is extremely important for students in higher educational institutions. The purpose of the study is to assess the health status of students at the School of Biomedicine of the Far Eastern Federal University. Material and methods. The health status of 184 medical students (147 young women and 37 young men) was assessed using a sociological survey (questionnaire) and a study of the component composition of the body using bioimpedancemetry. Results. The low physical activity, detected in 68% of students and bad habits (smoking tobacco) have been established to negatively affect students’ health. Among smokers, 75% of students live in dormitories on the university campus. According to the results of bioimpedancemetry, significant deviations from the age norm were noted in terms of body mass index (BMI) (50% of cases) and fat mass (FM) (71% of cases). Significant gender differences in the individual components of the body were not identified. Discussion. The most aggressive factors that significantly affect the health of students are unbalanced nutrition, lack of compliance with the regime of study and rest, lack of sleep and stay in the fresh air, lack of physical activity, lack of motivation for a healthy lifestyle. Significant deviations in BMI and FM, identified by bioimpedancemetry, indicate the risks of developing arterial hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and nutritional status disorders. Medical students need to give recommendations for increasing motor activity and changing diet. Conclusion. The results of the study can be used in the future to determine the functional state of students and develop preventive measures to preserve the health of medical students.

Patients with fibromyalgia present pain throughout the body, especially muscle, fatigue, non-restorative sleep, anxiety and depression. Hydrotherapy is indicated, as immersion in heated water reduces the load on the joints, promoting muscle relaxation, improving quality of life. To evaluate the effects of hydrotherapy in patients with Fibromyalgia. A non-systematic review was performed using the PubMed and PEDro databases, with randomized clinical trials (RCT) carried out between 2006 and 2021, with the following keywords: hydrotherapy for fibromyalgia, hydrotherapy in the treatment of fibromyalgia. Six RCTs were included. In five, there was considerable improvement in pain, quality of life and quality of sleep. Of these same studies, two showed gains in strength and mobility due to aerobic exercise and stretching. A study evaluating patients with chronic generalized pain had only a small improvement in quality of life. In addition, patients with mild symptoms had greater treatment success. In relation to depression, two studies evaluated it, but one had no improvement, and the other had a little improvement only in mild depression Hydrotherapy has a positive impact on the treatment of fibromyalgia, as well as on the promotion of well-being, sleep regulation and minimization of symptoms and syndromes manifested as a result of the pathology.

Stress levels in college students are increasing at an alarmingly fast pace. To combat this rising tide, universities need effective tools to promote student well-being and help them to recognize and manage their stress. One approach is to teach students basic lifestyle skills to cope with stress and achieve wellness. This is important as it not only increases students’ retention within a chosen field of study, but assists them to achieve personal and academic success. To inspire our undergraduate students to adopt healthy lifestyle choices, a once-weekly course titled “Life101” was developed with topics that focused on students’ wellness such as stress management, emotional intelligence, financial management, nutrition, and exercise. Classes were taught through a combination of lecture, multimedia videos, and discussions. Here, we share our observational findings outlining the potential benefits (short- and long-term) for students participating in Life101. Based on pre- and post-course survey data from students, both in-class and online, Life101 had a significant positive impact on the lifestyle of our students. The main outcomes from this study were: 1) both in-class and online courses resulted in positive lifestyle changes in our students; 2) online students showed greater mastery of course topics compared to their in-class peers; and 3) long-term benefits from the course were reported after a one-year follow-up. Although, this collective positive impact may suggest that offering Life101 to undergraduate students can serve to improve students’ mental and physical health, a prospective study is needed to confirm these findings.

One of the most important factors for a good result affect in sports are: lack of stress (emotional and nervous overstrain), rest, healthy sleep. The main condition is excellent food. The article considers the positive impact of the use of sports supplements to improve performance in sports and in general for the excellent well-being of the athlete. The aim of the work is to prove the use of nutritional supplements in the training of athletes, especially weightlifters, is quite effective and necessary for high athletic performance. Nutrition plays a huge role in achieving maximum results in fitness, bodybuilding and sports in general. When creating a training strategy, the basis of the nutrition program should be the use of certain types of products. Nutritional supplements, as it follows from this term, are only a supplement, a kind of support for proper nutrition and intensive training (especially with weights). Nutritional supplements are not a panacea, they can in no way replace proper nutrition and proper training. Nutritional supplements are substances that are a building material, protect and increase the function of cells in the body, and do not have a negative impact on human health. Maintaining excellent health is achieved through the use of sports supplements because the need for these drugs in athletes is very high. Athletes due to heavy physical activity spend a lot of energy, nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids. We see prospects for further research in a detailed consideration of the main components of sports supplements.

Introduction. Bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are serious social, epidemiological and medical health problems worldwide. The purpose of the study is to determine the main risk factors of asthma / COPD cross exacerbations in order to develop patient-centred management. Materials and methods. The study included 35 patients with asthma / COPD cross, and 35 healthy individuals. To quantify their well-being, the patients were asked to complete questionnaires: Asthma Control Questionnaire, Modified Medical Research Council Breathing Scale; to determine the level of reactive and personal anxiety, we used the questionnaire of Ch. D. Spielberger – Yu.M. Hanin. The analysis of integral indicators of the function of external respiration, including the test with bronchodilators was carried out. Medical lifestyle assessment of each patient with asthma / COPD cross was conducted by using the questionnaire of A. Nosov "Formation of components of a healthy lifestyle." Bioimpedance analysis of body composition was carried out as well. On the basis of the disturbances revealed in the behaviour of patients with asthma / COPD cross, and on the observance of lifestyle modes, we elaborated improved patient-centred approach to select the most appropriate algorithm of actions and personal behaviour to each patient. Conclusions. The integrated therapeutic measures developed for the patients with asthma / COPD and burden medical history should include in addition to the standard therapy (inhaled glucocorticosteroids, long-acting β2-agonists and / or long-acting muscarinic receptor antagonists) customized rehabilitation methods (therapeutic gymnastics according to Buteyko, hardening of the body, dietary modifications, mandatory smoking cessation) that promotes the stabilization and regression of symptoms, the increase in lung functioning, physical endurance, and improves patient’s quality of life.
