Background: This study was aimed to investigate the various dimensions of quality of work life of higher educational teachers working in engineering colleges affiliated to JNTUA, Anantapur. And the relationship among six-dimensional Quality of work life with job satisfaction, organizational commitments and turnover intention.Methods: A cross-sectional survey was used in this study. Data were collected using Brooks’ Quality of Work Life, the Anticipated Turnover Scale and demographic data questions. A total of 500 faculty working in private engineering colleges affiliated to JNTUA Anantapur in Rayalaseema region and Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh is selected base on stratified random sampling method is adopted. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression were applied for analysis using SPSS v 21 for Windows.Results: The findings suggest the importance of overall Quality of work life of engineering teachers in enhancing their commitment and retention. The present study concludes that employees’ perceptions on the relationship among Quality of work life, organizational commitment and turnover intention will improve, if organization approaches its employees’ management activities from the perspective of cultivating Quality of work life that should be reflected in the formal organizational policy and procedures.

Kinerja perawat merupakan hasil yang dicapai dalam melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan di rumah sakit. Terciptanya asuhan keperawatan yang optimal sangat diperlukan dukungan dari pihak rumah sakit salah satunya adalah menciptakan kualitas kehidupan kerja baik bagi perawat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kualitas kehidupan kerja terhadap kinerja perawat pelaksana di RSUD Teluk Kuantan. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel 120 responden yang diperoleh melalui proportionate simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kualitas kehidupan kerja perawat RSUD Teluk Kuantan berada pada kategori sedang, kinerja perawat berada pada kategori kurang baik. Berdasarkan analisis kedua variabel teridentifikasi bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara kualitas kehidupan kerja dengan kinerja perawat pelaksana dengan  p value 0,817. Dimensi work context merupakan komponen yang memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja perawat pelaksana dengan p value 0,008, dimensi work life  tidak berhubungan secara signifikan dengan kinerja perawat. Kesimpulan penelitian diketahui tidak ada hubungan antara kualitas kehidupan kerja dengan kinerja perawat pelaksana. Ada hubungan dimensi work context dengan kinerja perawat pelaksana. Tidak ada hubungan dimensi work life dengan kinerja perawat.   Kata kunci: kualitas kehidupan kerja, kinerja, perawat pelaksana   THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE QUALITY OF WORK LIFE AND THE PERFORMANCE OF IMPLEMENTERS NURSES   ABSTRACT Nurse performance is the result achieved in implementing nursing care in a hospital. The creation of optimal nursing care is very much needed support from the hospital, one of which is to create a good quality of work life for nurses. This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of work life and the performance of nurses at the Kuantan District Hospital. This type of quantitative research with cross sectional approach. The number of samples of 120 respondents obtained through proportionate simple random sampling. The results showed that the quality of work life of nurses at the Kuantan District Hospital was in the medium category, the nurses' performance was in the unfavorable category. Based on the analysis of the two variables, it was identified that there was no relationship between the quality of work life with the performance of implementing nurses with a p value of 0.817. The work context dimension is a component that has a relationship with the performance of nurses implementing with p value 0.008, the dimension of work life does not significantly correlate with nurse performance. The conclusion of the research is that there is no relationship between the quality of work life and the performance of the implementing nurses. There is a relationship between the dimensions of the work context and the performance of the nurses. There is no relationship between the dimensions of work life and nurse performance.   Keywords: quality of work life, performance, implementers nurse


Psychological empowerment may provide more satisfaction towards a job and better productivity towards employees’ work and life. The aim of this study is to investigate the link between psychological empowerment and the quality of work life [QWL] in a government-linked company in Malaysia. Employing a cross-sectional survey research design, 182 employees from a financial sector company were recruited using simple random sampling method. The Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire [Spreitzer, 1995] and Quality of Work Life Questionnaire [Walton, 1980] were used to measure psychological empowerment and the quality of work life [QWL]. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science [SPSS]. Results showed that, the overall level of psychological empowerment is at a high level, while the level of quality of work life [QWL] is at a moderate level. The findings also showed that the relationship between psychological empowerment and the quality of work life has a very weak relationship. It can be concluded that, psychological empowerment is associated to quality of work life among the employees in a Malaysian government-linked company

This study aims to determine the relationship between quality of work life and burnout. Subjects used in this study were Workers at PT Multi Sarana Medanv consisting of 94 people who were selected by using purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained from a scale to measure quality of worklife and burnout. The calculation was performed by means of testing requirements analysis (assumption test) that consists of a test for normality and linearity. Analysis of the data used was performed by Product Moment Analysis through SPSS 17 for Windows. The results of data analysis showed that r = -0,839 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that there was a positive relationship between burnout and turnover intention. The results of this study indicated that the contribution (R2) given to the quality of worklife to burnout intention was 70.3 %, the remaining 29.7 % were affected by other factors not examined.

One serious issue facing managers of business organization today is to secure employee commitment in the work place. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between „quality working lifestyle‟ and employee commitments‟. The baseline and organizational theory was the social exchange theory in social structure. The study adopted the cross sectional survey design, with a statistical sample size of 248 employees purposively and randomly selected from eleven (11) filling stations within Port Harcourt metropolis, copies of questionnaire were used as main research instrument or tool to collect data. Data was analyzed using the statistical package for social science (SPSS). The study found that there is a strong positive relationship between “quality of work life” and “employee commitment”. Our findings, suggest that companies create enabling environments for them to work effectively to enhance their performance.

Objective – This study examines the effect of mediating work pressure on the relationship between the quality of work life and the desire to leave of millennial employees. Methodology/Technique – The highest portion of the workforce in Indonesia in 2016 is the millennial generation, which comprises around 62.5 million people. Millennials possess different attitudes, characteristics and skills than the Baby Boomer generation. Millennial employees are perceived to look for the value of work to improve the quality of work life rather than financial benefits. Organizations must understand the character of millennial employees to gain the best talents. Findings – The findings of the study show that quality of work life has a negative and significant effect on work stress. Meanwhile, work stress has a positive and significant effect on intention to leave. Finally, the quality of work life has a negative and significant effect on intention to leave. Research Limitations / Implications – This study concludes that work stress mediates the relationship between the quality of work life and intention to leave. This study concludes that quality of work life is very important for low work stress and reducing the intention to leave among millennial employees. Novelty – These findings expand upon existing research related to the quality of work life, work stress and turnover intention and provides recommendations for organizations to retain millennial employees.
