The article deals with the problem of forming a reasonable level of stocks of material resources of the logistics system of a manufacturing enterprise. It was stated that in the share of material resources of industrial enterprises, the leading place is occupied by stocks of raw materials, materials, semi-finished products, and blanks. The latter belong to the category of inventories. Therefore, the management of this type of material resources is one of the most urgent tasks for enterprises. In this regard, there is a need for a modern approach to the problem of managing stocks of material resources and the economic assessment of the profitability of creating production and commercial stocks. And at the same time, one of the important questions is to determine their optimal volume. It was found that when forming stocks of material resources, it is necessary to simultaneously comply with the requirements for the sufficiency of their volume to ensure the normal operation of the enterprise's logistics system, to reduce their volume as much as possible while increasing the degree of mobility, and to minimize the total costs associated with the formation of stocks. An analog model for assessing the economic efficiency of the influence of changes in the size of the stock of material resources on the comparative economic effect of the logistics activities of an enterprise is proposed for practical use. This model takes into account the causal relationship between natural (partial) and cost (generalizing) indicators of the inventory management system of material resources and provides an opportunity to calculate the comparative economic effect of changes in the volume of inventories at the enterprise. In practice, this will make it possible to economically substantiate the decision on the need to form stocks of one or another type of material resources. It is shown that the economic effect of the functioning of the logistics system of a manufacturing enterprise is significantly influenced by the growth of fixed and circulating assets. To determine the assessment of the impact of the growth of fixed and current assets on the value of the economic effect, an analog model is proposed. The main structural elements of such a model are an increase in capital investments in fixed assets, an increase in profits from product sales, a change in logistics costs, an increase (savings) in investment in current assets, a change in the cost of production. These factors are directly related to the growth of depreciation charges, the increase in profits from the acceleration of inventory turnover and the increase in net profit. Taking into account the results of the studies performed, it was found that the economic effect is formed by the total discounted net profit and the amount of depreciation (provided there are no penalties) minus the total additional capital investments in the enterprise. To calculate the economic effect, a corresponding mathematical relationship is proposed. The key words: enterprise, stock, stock size, material resources, evaluation, relative economic effect.

The impact of migration on Ukraine is multifaceted. It increases the threat of depopulation, leads to losing a part of the labour and intellectual potential, and thus, may become a factor inhibiting economic development. Today, there is a shortage of workers in almost all activities, especially in industry and construction. At the same time, according to scientists, in the absence of migration, unemployment in Ukraine would be 36.7% higher. Due to foreign earnings, the quality of life in migrant households is improving. Increasing consumer demand can contribute to the economic development of both individual regions and the country as a whole. This article aims to analyse the impact of migration processes on the regional competitiveness. Social, economic, and demographic factors should be taken into account when forming a comprehensive indicator of regional competitiveness. There is a need to evaluate the weight of individual factors and the mechanism of their impact on a comprehensive indicator of the regional competitiveness. Considering the findings of previous studies, the important role of industrial enterprises in assessing the level of regions' competitiveness is emphasized; it is necessary to study in more detail the relationship of migration processes and industrial potential of the region/country.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, which emerged at the end of 2019 and spread to the world at a very fast pace, resulted in a pandemic affecting the finance industry besides many other industries though at varying extents. Financial markets, which can be regarded as cornerstones of each and every country's economic success, have been adversely influenced due to the fear and uncertainty arising with the emergence of the novel coronavirus at different degrees. This chapter provides a summary of a literature review based on the impact of this pandemic on stock returns and volatility in the stock exchanges of different countries and regions of the world. What has been captured as a result of this literature review is that almost all of the financial markets around the world have been influenced due to the virus. Further, industry-wise empirical studies demonstrate that not all industries are affected at the same level or even in the same direction.

The relevance of the study is determined by the change of technological structure of the Russian economy: digital technologies are becoming an integral part of the fulfilling life of both individual and legal entities. The use of digital technologies in the activities of manufacturing enterprises allows them to become more competitive. However, the change in almost all processes of an enterprise because of digitalization simplifies some of them and reduces their cost but complicates others and makes them more expensive. In addition, the digitalization leads to the emergence of new processes at enterprises that often means the emergence of new risks and additional costs. The purpose of this research is to study the impact of the digitalization on activities of industrial enterprises. Objectives of the study are: to study the concept of digitalization, areas of activity of industrial enterprises as well as consequences of the introduction of digital technologies into each of the activity area of industrial enterprises and the impact of digitalization on the results of a production enterprise.

This study attempts to measure the impact of simultaneously demerger and merger over the financial performance of ABN AMRO Bank for the period 2007-2013 by using the DuPont system of financial analysis. ABN AMRO Bank N.V. is a Dutch state-owned bank with headquarters in Amsterdam. The bank demerged from Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) in the first quarter of 2010 and merged with Fortis Bank Nederland from July 1, 2010. Two statistical techniques are used in this study; first the analysis of pre and post Demerger-Merger financial ratios is drawn and second paired sample t-test is used. Based on the analysis of 3 years pre and post Demerger-Merger financial ratios and data of ABN AMRO Bank, the result shows that the event of merger-demerger has no significant influence on the bank’s Net profit margin, Total asset turnover, Return on equity and Equity multiplier. This research fills the gap of Demerger-Merger analysis in the bank industry by using DuPont system of financial analysis.

Introduction. The factor of a sharp slowdown in economic growth in almost all countries since the beginning of 2020 has been quite atypical. Whereas previously we had seen shocks mainly related to economic processes, this time the “black swan” was a public health emergency – the new coronavirus pandemic COVID-19. A feature of this crisis was the unprecedented measures of states to restrict the movement of citizens, as well as the suspension of the activities of both industrial enterprises and enterprises in the sphere of trade and services. The aim of this work is to make cross-country comparisons of the impact of increased unemployment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on different countries’ economic growth. Theoretical analysis. The relationship between the actual output gap and potential and cyclical unemployment rates has traditionally been studied according to the well-known law of A. Okun. Okun’s Law can be viewed as a linear algebraic equation for the function of real gross domestic product (GDP). The essence of the law is that with an increase in cyclical unemployment, total output should decrease, since the number of people employed in GDP production falls. Empirical analysis. Cross-country comparisons of economic growth and characteristics of the labor market in Russia, the USA, China, Canada and Germany from 2000 to 2020, including the period of the new coronavirus infection pandemic, were carried out. Results. Based on the analysis of time series of GDP and the unemployment rate, it is shown that, depending on the depth and effectiveness of state support measures for business in terms of maintaining employment, deviations of the actual values of GDP from those calculated in accordance with Okun’s empirical law are observed. The largest and smallest deviations in real GDP changes from the predictions for the first half of 2020 have been recorded in Germany and Canada, respectively.
