Background: With an increase in the aged population, there is a growing concern regarding the care of the elderly. This study aims to identify effects of cognicise-neurofeedback on health locus of control, depression, and quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) alpha asymmetry in elderly women. Methods: A quasi-experimental control group pre-test–post-test design was used. Korean women aged 65 years or over at a senior welfare center were randomly allocated to the control (n = 12) or experimental (n = 19) groups from July to October 2019. The intervention consisted of cognicise (exercise with intensified cognitive activity) and neurofeedback twice a week for 10 weeks. The locus of control and depression were measured via self-reported questionnaires. QEEG alpha asymmetry was measured using BrainMaster. Results: Depression significantly decreased in the experimental group (t = 4.113, p = 0.001), while internality in the locus of control significantly decreased in the control group (t = 3.023, p = 0.012). On the other hand, QEEG alpha asymmetry index differences in F3-F4 between the pre-test and post-test were not significant in the experimental group (t = 0.491, p = 0.629) or control group (t = 0.413, p = 0.678). Conclusions: Due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, contact between the elderly and healthcare workers in the clinical practice field has become more restricted. These findings can help decrease negative emotions among elderly women in the community based on an integrated neuroscientific approach.

The objective of this study was to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying falls in the elderly. The results were based on a group of 28 women in a control group (CON) and 16 women in an experimental group (EXP), aged 60–70. Participants took part in the six-weeks Elderly Recreation Movement Program (ERMP) with the only difference that the EXP group practiced twice as often as the CON group. The measurement of variations in the index called limits of stability (LOS) was performed by application of Kistler force plate and the coactivation index (CI) was registered by means of sEMG. The results demonstrate the existence of statistically significant differences in terms of the principal outcome of the exercise time in the measurements of LOS (F(1.42) = 10.0, p = 0.003), and CI (F(1.42) = 10.5, p = 0.002). The effect of the program was associated with an increase the level of the maximum LOS, and a decrease of the CI level, especially in the experimental group. Hence, the implementation of an innovative ERMP exercise program results in the improvement of the physical capabilities of senior subjects.

AbstrakKualitas tidur pada lansia yang mengalami insomnia sangat bervariasi  yaitu ada yang baik dan ada yang buruk.  Salah satu keluhan tidur lansia adalah Insomnia , dimana ini  merupakan suatu proses degenerasi pada lansia menyebabkan waktu tidur yang efektif semakin berkurang, dan menyebabkan tidak tercapainya kualitas tidur yang adekuat.  Intervensi yang diberikan dapat disisipkan dalan kegiatan Posbindu. Salah satu Intervensi yang dapat diberikan adalah terapi beapreasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  ada atau tidaknya pengaruh terapi Beapreasi terhadap kualitas tidur pada lansia dengan insomnia di  Posbindu Kemuning Kelurahan Candirejo Ungaran. Design penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment pre-test post-test with control group dan dilakukan pada 128 responden yang terbagi kedalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol,  masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 64 responden . Metode  yang digunakan untuk menentukan responden adalah teknik purposive sampling. Penilaian Kualitas tidur di ukur dengan kuesioner PSQI dan dilakukan 2 kali pengukuran yaitu sebelum dan sesudah diberikan terapi Beapreasi. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata nilai PSQI pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum dilakukan intervensi sebesar 6.27 dan rerata  nilai PSQI pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 5.15. Selanjutnya rerata nilai PSQI pada kelompok eksperimen setelah  dilakukan intervensi sebesar 3.67, sedangkan  rerata  nilai PSQI kelompok kontrol  sebesar  5,73. Terdapat perbedaan nilai PSQI pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol dengan nilai p 0.00, nilai p < 0.05 sehingga ada pengaruh yang bermakna dari pemberian terapi beapreasi terhadap peningkatan  kualitas tidur. Intervensi terapi Beapreasi dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lansia yang mengalami insomnia . Terapi Beapreasi dapat dijadikan salah satu intervensi mandiri perawat dalam  merawat lansia yang mengalami insomnia dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lansia.  Kata kunci: Terapi beapreasi , kualitas tidur, PSQI (the pittsburgh sleep quality index), lansia insomnia, posbindu Abstract The Effect of Breapreasi  Therapy (combain for brain Gym and benson relaxation) on Sleep Quality in the Elderly with Insomnia. Sleep quality in the elderly who experience insomnia varies greatly, there are good and some are bad. One of the complaints of elderly sleep is Insomnia, which is a degeneration process in the elderly which causes effective sleep time to decrease, and causes inadequate quality sleep. The intervention provided can be inserted in the activities of Posbindu. One of the interventions that can be given is therapy of beapreasi. This study aims to determine whether or not there is an effect of beapreasi therapy on sleep quality in the elderly with insomnia at Posbindu Kemuning, Candirejo Village, Ungaran. The research design used was quasi experiment pre-test post-test with control group and carried out on 128 respondents divided into experimental groups and control groups, each group consisting of 64 respondents. The method used to determine respondents is purposive sampling technique. Assessment of sleep quality was measured by the PSQI questionnaire and carried out 2 measurements, namely before and after being given therapy Beapreasi. The study showed that the mean PSQI value in the experimental group before intervention was 6.27 and the mean PSQI value in the control group was 5.15. Then the mean PSQI value in the experimental group after intervention was 3.67, while the mean PSQI value of the control group was 5.73. There are differences in the PSQI values in the experimental and control groups with a value of p 0.00, the value of p <0.05 so that there is a significant effect of the provision of beapreasi therapy on improving sleep quality. Beapreasi therapy interventions can improve sleep quality in elderly who experience insomnia. Blood pressure is pressure or force which is pumped from the heart to arterial walls so that blood can flow in blood vessels and reach tissues throughout the body. Blood pressure problems in the elderly include hypertension or hypotension. Hypertension and hypotension can be treated pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. One of the non-pharmacological treatments is heart exercise. This research was to identify the effect of heart exercise on blood pressure in the elderly at Sanggrahan Hamlet, Wedomartani Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. This research is a quasi-experiment with a pre-post test nonequivalent control group. Samples were taken using consecutive sampling with a sample size of 15 respondents/group. Data were analyzed using paired T-Test. In the control group, mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 137,34 mmHg and 85,63 mmHg.Mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 137,21 mmHg and 85,48 mmHg. In the experimental group, mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 135,27 mmHg and 81,73 mmHg.Mean of systolic and diastolic pretest were 133,00 mmHg and 83,53 mmHg. In the control group, p-value pre-posttest systolic and diastolic were 0,592 and 0,543. In experimental group, p-value pre-posttest systolic and diastolic were  0,028 dan 0,344. There was an effect of heart exercise in lowering systolic blood pressure in the elderly at Sanggrahan Hamlet, Wedomartani Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. Respondents should maintain their blood pressure by doing heart exercise and other physical activities and taking regular blood pressure measurements.

The effects of electromyographic (EMG) biofeedback training in enhancing health locus of control were examined. 21 college students were randomly assigned to either biofeedback (BF) group or control group (C). Subjects given biofeedback received 8 sessions of biofeedback training in 4 wk. Analysis indicated these subjects exhibited a greater reduction of muscle tension than control subjects at post-test. They also maintained their low muscle tension at a 1-mo. follow-up. Subjects who received biofeedback training also showed somewhat more internal health locus of control scores, but the change was not significant until the follow-up session. Mean internal locus of control scores also improved significantly for these subjects. No significant correlation between changes in EMG and health locus of control was found.

  En México, como en muchos países, ha aumentado considerablemente la población adulta mayor. Este incremento se puede explicar debido a mejores condiciones de vida en general, como una mejor alimentación y nuevos tipos de medicamentos. Por tal motivo, se cuenta con una población adulta mayor que es indispensable estudiar para ofrecerle una mayor independencia, autocuidado y mejor calidad de vida. El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el efecto de un programa de Pilates sobre variables psicológicas en adultos mayores del Estado de Durango, México. La metodología del estudio presenta un grupo experimental (GE) n=10 y un grupo control (GC) n=10, mediciones Pre-test y Post-test, la edad de los participantes estuvo entre 60 y 80 años. La duración del programa fue de 12 semanas, con una periodicidad de 3 veces por semana con sesiones de 50 min. Para evaluación de la variable dependiente se utilizó el instrumento WHOQOL BREF, y para el análisis se realizó ANOVA de 2 x 2. Como principales resultados se encontró una interacción significativa (p < 0.05) entre mediciones y grupos en las dimensiones de salud físicas, relaciones sociales, y aspectos psicológicos. Concluyendo que un programa de acondicionamiento físico de 12 semanas de duración basado en el método Pilates permite mejorar variables psicológicas, las cuales son relevantes para el logro de la buena salud en el adulto mayor. Abstract. In Mexico, as in many countries, the elderly population has increased considerably. This increase can be explained by better living conditions, such as better nutrition and new medications. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of a Pilates program on psychological variables in older adults in the State of Durango, Mexico. The methodology included an experimental group (GE n=10) and a control group (GC n=10), and Pre- to Post-test measurements. The participant’s age was between 60 and 80 years. The program length was 12 weeks, where participants attended 50-min sessions, three times per week. Two-by two ANOVA was used to analyze data. The main results were a significant interaction (p < 0.05) between measurements and groups in physical health dimensions, social relationships, and psychological aspects. In conclusion, a 12-week fitness program based on the Pilates method elicits improvements on psychological variables, which are relevant for the achievement of good health in the elderly.

Objective: With age, the problems associated with loss of balance, followed by decreased muscle strength and physical function, increase. Therefore, the elderly are exposed to serious injuries. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of Cawthorne Cooksey training on balance and lower limb strength in the elderly. Methods: Subjects including 24 elderly men and women participated in this study voluntarily and were divided into experimental groups (n‌=‌12) and control (n‌=‌12). The design of the present study was pre-test and post-test. Cawthorne Cooksey training were performed for eight weeks, three sessions per week and each session for 60 minutes. The main variables were balance and lower limb strength, and the leaf test was used to assess balance and the rise and fall test was used for lower limb strength. One-way covariance and dependent t-test in SPSS software version 26 were used to analyze the pre-test and post-test results and compare the groups. Results: The results of this study showed that the balance in the experimental group had a significant improvement compared to the control group (P‌=‌0.001). There was also a significant difference in lower limb strength in the experimental group compared to the control (P‌=‌0.002). Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, these exercises positively affect balance and lower limb strength in the elderly. Due to the decline in physical function of the elderly, performing these exercises increases the level of physical function and quality of life of the elderly.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of positive learning on happiness, Aggression and hope for adolescents with leukemia in Ahvaz. The sample consisted of 30 people who were selected by available sampling method. 15 subjects in the experimental group and 15 in the control group were randomly assigned. The experimental design was a pre-test-post-test type with control group and follow-up period. Measurement tools included Oxford Happiness Inventory (Argyle, 1989); Ahwaz's Aggression Questionnaire (Zahedifar, Najarian, and Shokrkon, 2000); Hope Scale (Schneider, 1991). To run, at first, the pre-test was taken from both groups. Then, the experimental group was trained in 14 sessions of 90 minutes, and after each group, they were subjected to post-test. And one month later, the follow-up process was completed. Data analysis was performed using multivariate covariance analysis (MANCOVA) and one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results showed that positive attitudes toward happiness, aggressiveness and hopefulness of adolescents with leukemia in Ahvaz were effective.

This study is aimed at finding out the effect of Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) on students’ achievement in reading comprehension on hortatory exposition text. Experimental design was applied in this research. The population was the 2014/2015 second year students (grade XI) of SMA Swasta YAPIM Medan. There were two paralel classes that consisted of 34 students. The total number of the population were 68 students. The total number of the sample were 68 students. The researcher selected the sample by using total sampling technique. The sample was divided into two groups, experimental group and control group. The experimental group was taught by using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) strategy while the control group was taught without using Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) strategy. The data were taken by administering the pre-test and post-test to both control and experimental groups. These data were analyzed by using t-test. The result of computing the t-test obviously showed that t-observed (5.61) is higher than t-table (1.99) with the degree of freedom (df= 66) at the level significance 0.05. It means that the alternative hypothesis stating that there is a significant effect of Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) on students’ achievement in reading comprehension on hortatory exposition text is accepted. This thesis is focused on the investigation of the effect of applying animal cartoon pictures on students’ achievement in writing narrative text. This study aims to find whether applying animal cartoon pictures significantly affect the students’ writing achievement or not. The data in this study were obtained by administering a written test. The population was the 2015/2016 first year (grade XI) of SMA Swasta Nusantara Lubuk Pakam and 66 students were taken as the sample by using random sampling. The sample was divided into two groups, experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught by applying animal cartoon pictures while the control group without animal cartoon pictures (x = lecturing). The data were taken the scores from the pre-test and post-test to both experimental and control groups. These data were analyzed by using t-test. The result of computing the t-test obviously showed that t-observed is higher than t-table (5.21 >1,67) with the degree of freedom 64 (df =N-2) at the level significance 0,05 one tail test. It showed that the application of animal cartoon pictures significantly affected the students of SMA Swasta Nusantara Lubuk Pakam achievement in writing narrative text.

This study was conducted to know the effect of applying Peer Review Strategy on the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph. It was conducted by using experimental research method. This research design was conducted pre-test, post test in experimental and control group. The population of this research was the eight (VIII) grade students of SMP IT IQRA’ Medan. The sample of this research was taken by lottery technique. They were in class VIII-1 by experimental group and the class VIII-2 by control group. The experimental group was taught by using Peer Review Strategy while the control group was given no treatment. The instrument used to collect the data was writing essay test. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The result showed that the value of t-observed was higher than the value of t-table. (3,55 > 2,05 (a = 0.05)) with the degree of freedom (df) = 28. It means that there was a significant effect of applying Peer Review Strategy on the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph. So, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.
