The present study was carried out to relate the role of natural products in the metabolism of an increasingly prevalent disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus. At present, in addition to the pharmacological resources, an attempt is being made to treat diabetes mellitus with natural products. We carried out a systematic review of studies focusing on the role of natural products on diabetes mellitus treatment. The bibliographic search was done through Medline (Pubmed) and Web of Science. From 193 records, the title and summary of each were examined according to the criteria and whether they met the selection criteria. A total of 15 articles were included; after reviewing the literature, it is apparent that the concept of natural products is ambiguous as no clear boundary has been established between what is natural and what is synthetic, therefore we feel that a more explicit definition of the concept of “natural product” is needed. Gut microbiota is a promising therapeutic target in the treatment of diabetes. Therefore, it would be necessary to work on the relationship between the microbiome and the benefits in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. Treatment based solely on these natural products is not currently recommended as more studies are needed.

Health and wellness coaching (HWC) for lifestyle behavior change is emerging as a practice, role, and profession, in diverse health care, employee wellness, and community settings. Health care professionals apply HWC as a behavior change methodology for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart disease, cancer, and other chronic disorders. The purpose of this systematic review was to provide a comprehensive and organized compendium of HWC literature. To date, extant HWC literature remains scattered with no meaningful summary accessible. Lack of comprehensive summary stems from lack of consensus on HWC definition and standards. We applied a recently proposed, standardized definition of HWC to determine compendium inclusion criteria for peer-reviewed, data-based literature from relevant search engines (ie, PubMed, PsychInfo, and CINAHL). A systematic review process was executed and ultimately yielded 219 articles meeting HWC inclusion criteria. Of these, 150 were data-based and the remainder were expert opinion or review-style articles. A summary of results generally reveals HWC as a promising intervention for chronic diseases though further research is needed in most categories. The resulting HWC compendium organizes and describes the quantity and quality of available literature for the use and benefit of HWC practitioners and researchers.

This article aims to evaluate the effectiveness and use of laparoscopy in penetrating abdominal trauma, thus providing a better definition of the role of laparoscopic approach in patients with PAD.  A systematic review was performed by searching indexed articles in the Virtual Health Library and the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online database (MEDLINE / PubMed), in which analysis after final analysis included 07 articles.  In this study we identified seven articles that evaluated the use and contributions of the laparoscopic approach in patients with TAP, in which it was identified that the use as a diagnostic approach is widely used due to its benefits and safety.  Regarding its therapeutic approach it was determined that in the largest of the studies there is indication, usefulness, reliability and accuracy of its use, however, for better results is essential experience of the surgical team in laparoscopic technique. Keywords: Abdominal trauma;  Laparoscopy and Penetrating Trauma;  Abdominal injury;  Laparoscopy;  Penetrating wound.
