Background: Computer-based education has been widely implemented in healthcare professional development education. However, there has been little examination of the potential for computer-based education to enhance pharmacists’ knowledge. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of computer-based education on improving pharmacists’ knowledge compared to printed education material. Methods: This study was a web-based randomized controlled trial. Participants were randomly allocated to either an intervention group where they had access to the computer-based education module on Pharmacy5in5.ca or to a control group where they had access to printed educational material. Knowledge gain was assessed using a pre- and post-knowledge test. Results: A total of 120 pharmacists were recruited and 101 completed the post-knowledge test (50/60 in the intervention group; 51/60 in the control group). Both groups showed a significant increase in knowledge gain (intervention group: pre-test mean score 19.35 ± 3.56, post-test mean score 22.42 ± 3.812, p value < 0.001; control group pre-test mean score 19.22 ± 3.45, post-test mean score 23.29 ± 3.087, p value < 0.001). However, the difference in knowledge change was not significant between the two groups (22.42 vs. 23.29, p value = 0.333). Conclusions: In this study, a computer-based education module enhanced pharmacists’ knowledge to a similar degree to printed education material. Efforts should be made to provide computer-based education as an option to support pharmacists’ professional development.

Objectives: To compare patients’ acceptability of a hypodontia-specific interactive computer-based education material (ICB-EM) versus a British Orthodontic Society (BOS) hypodontia leaflet. Trial Design: Two-arm parallel randomized controlled trial, 1:1 allocation ratio. Methods: The study was conducted at a specialized secondary care facility in the Greater London area. Ninety-six new hypodontia patients aged 14 y and older were randomly assigned to the control group ( n = 49) receiving the BOS leaflet or the intervention group ( n = 47) receiving the ICB-EM. The main outcome measure was patients’ evaluation of the intervention measured by the treatment evaluation inventory. Results: The analyzed sample comprised 76 participants: control group ( n = 38) and intervention group ( n = 38). The mean age of the sample was 19 y (SD = 7.24) and 20.3 y (SD = 6.9) for the control and intervention group, respectively. The intervention group was significantly more satisfied with the ICB-EM than individuals who received the BOS leaflet ( t = −3.53, P = 0.001). Conclusion: Patients preferred the computer-based information. Knowledge Transfer Statement: Patients attending dental care in the 21st century are adept in the use of computerised facilities for obtaining information. The results of the study will provide valuable evidence for clinicians on the level of acceptability of the patients toward interactive computer based health education as opposed to traditional paper leaflets.

Non-adherence after heart transplantation (HTx) is a significant problem. The main objective of this study was to evaluate if a mHealth strategy is more effective than standard care in improving adherence and patients’ experience in heart transplant recipients. Methods: This was a single-center, randomized controlled trial (RCT) in adult recipients >1.5 years post-HTx. Participants were randomized to standard care (control group) or to the mHeart Strategy (intervention group). For patients randomized to the mHeart strategy, multifaceted theory-based interventions were provided during the study period to optimize therapy management using the mHeart mobile application. Patient experience regarding their medication regimens were evaluated in a face-to-face interview. Medication adherence was assessed by performing self-reported questionnaires. A composite adherence score that included the SMAQ questionnaire, the coefficient of variation of drug levels and missing visits was also reported. Results: A total of 134 HTx recipients were randomized (intervention N = 71; control N = 63). Mean follow-up was 1.6 (SD 0.6) years. Improvement in adherence from baseline was significantly higher in the intervention group versus the control group according to the SMAQ questionnaire (85% vs. 46%, OR = 6.7 (2.9; 15.8), p-value < 0.001) and the composite score (51% vs. 23%, OR = 0.3 (0.1; 0.6), p-value = 0.001). Patients’ experiences with their drug therapy including knowledge of their medication timing intakes (p-value = 0.019) and the drug indications or uses that they remembered (p-value = 0.003) significantly improved in the intervention versus the control group. Conclusions: In our study, the mHealth-based strategy significantly improved adherence and patient beliefs regarding their medication regimens among the HTx population. The mHeart mobile application was used as a feasible tool for providing long-term, tailor-made interventions to HTx recipients to improve the goals assessed.

Introduction: Shwasa is said as Shigrapranahara Roga. It occurs as the main disease and also a symptom in various diseases. Shwasakruchrata is a common symptom that occurs in Hrudroga. Acharya Charaka mentioned the unique classification of drugs based on their action. Shwasahara Dashemani is one among them. It is containing 10 herbal drugs which are specially indicated in Shwasa Roga. Hence to evaluate the efficacy of Shwasahara Dashemani in Lakshana Roopi Shwasa in L.V.F (Cardiac Asthma) has taken for the study. Aim and Objective: The objective is to assess the efficacy of Shwasahara Dashemani in L.V.F with dyspnea (Cardiac Asthma). Method: The present study is a controlled comparative, open-label, clinical trial with pre and post-test design. A total of 40 subjects of a diagnosed case of L.V.F with dyspnea (Cardiac Asthma) were selected by using a simple random sampling method. Control group subjects were intervened with standard treatment of L.V.F and intervention group subjects were intervened with standard treatment of L.V.F along with Shwasahara Dashemani Ghana Vati, for the duration of 30 days. Its efficacy was assessed before treatment (0th day) and after treatment (31st day) by using BDI (Baseline Dyspnea Index Scale). Results: The P-value of dyspnea of the control group is 1.000 and the P-value of dyspnea of the intervention group is 0.105. This shows that the results of both groups are statistically not significant. But as compared to the control group, the intervention group is clinically significant because after the intervention 35% of subjects had shown improvement in the intervention group. Conclusion: As compared to the control group, in the intervention group Shwasahara Dashemani Ghanavati is clinically significant in relieving cardiac asthma when used with standard treatment of L.V.F. In general, bullying has negative effects on victims, including increased anxiety, decreased self-esteem, self-distrust and depression. These things will affect to the concentration of student learning which ultimately leads to decrease learning achievement and more risk of suicide in adolescents. Therefore, developing the resilience of youth victims of bullying is needed to provide therapeutic coping to avoid these adverse effects.  This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Spiritual-based psychoeducation therapy on the Level of Resilience of Youth Victims of Bullying. This is quasy experimental pre-post test research with total sampling. The sample is high school students who have experienced bullying in the past month, are physically healthy, and have no disabilities. The sample of this study was 50 and has been divided into two groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. This research used questionnaire’s ability of resilience in adolescents by Gail M wagnild and Heather M. Young. The results showed a significant effect of psychoeducation spiritual therapy on the level of adolescent resilience (p-value is 0.000 by Kolmogorov Smirnov). Schools need to consider this therapy as a choice to be applied to student victims of bullying.

Background: Educating mothers during their postpartum period could potentially help them to overcome some important phases after giving birth. The process of education is evaluated based on the mothers’ knowledge about their independent self-care. Independency is an activity that is started individually and is done based on self-capability. The independency in the postpartum care is not only important to decrease the mother’s mortality and morbidity rate, but it is also crucial to strengthen and improve the post-partum mother’s healthy behavior during the perineal care. Providing education using Android-based application called BUBI Care could be potential to facilitate a more dynamic transfer of knowledge to the postpartum mothers.Aims: To analyze the knowledge, skills, and independence of primipara postpartum mothers in independent perineal care before and after accessing BUBI Care app. Research Method: employing quasi experimental research with pre-test and post-test design with control group design. The sample for this research were 19 pregnant mothers TM III (pregnancy age of ? 38 weeks) on each group. The treatment group was educated using BUBI Care Android app that was conducted at one of Public Health Center. The control group was educated without BUBI Care that was conducted at a Midwife Practice Clinic. The research was conducted on September to October 2020. Study Result: According to the Wilcoxon test, there was a difference in the pre-test knowledge of the treatment and control groups with the similar median of 53 and p-value of 0.666, the treatment group showed their scores improved to 80 on the post-test while the control group stayed at 53 with the p-value of 0.000. It means that BUBI Care app education influences the post-test. On the other hand, the perineal care skill saw a difference between the intervention and control groups. The intervention group had a mean of 70.05 and 56.68 for the control group with the p-value of 0.002 which means that there was an influence from the BUBI Care app education. Additionally, Mann Whitney test showed that the intervention group had a mean score of 78.95, but the control group only had 49.26, the total difference between the two are 29.69 with the p-value of 0.000. It can be concluded that there is a significance in difference in the independency rate from the provision of BUBI Care Android app education.Conclusion:  there is a significance effect on the intervention group in terms of Android based usage.

Penyakit gagal ginjal kronis atau disingkat GGK, saat ini diakui sebagai prioritas kesehatan masyarakat di seluruh dunia. Pasien GGK akan mengalami  gangguan fisik dan psikologis sehingga mempengaruhi kualitas hidupnya. Teknik konservasi energi dengan pemberdayaan diri dapat diberikan pada pasien GGK dengan tujuan dapat meningkatkan energi, mengurangi fatigue dan kualitas hidup dapat meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan teknik konservasi energi dengan pemberdayaan diri terhadap kualitas hidup pasien gagal ginjal kronik.Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah teknik konservasi energydengan pemberdayaan diridapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien GGK.   Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 47 orang untuk kelompok intervensi dan untuk kelompok kontrol 47 orang responden. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metoda kuasi eksperimental dengan pendekatan pre test – post test control group design. Hasil uji statistik didapatkan nilai p value 0,000 maka dapat disimpulkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara  kualitas hidup  kelompok kontrol dengankualitas hidup kelompok intervensi setelah dilakukan penerapan teknik konservasi energy. Perawat agar menerapkan tehnik konservasi energy sebagai suatu program terstruktur dari intervensi keperawatan bagi pasien GGK   Kata kunci : teknik konservasi energi, kualitas hidup, GGK   THE EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION OF ENERGY CONSERVATION TECHNIQUES WITH SELF-EMPOWERMENT TO THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE   ABSTRACT Chronic kidney failure or abbreviated CRF, is currently recognized as a public health priority throughout the world. GGK patients will experience physical and psychological disorders that affect their quality of life. Energy conservation techniques with self-empowerment can be given to CRF patients with the aim of increasing energy, reducing fatigue and quality of life can be increased. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of energy conservation techniques with self-empowerment to the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure. The hypothesis of this study is conservation techniques of energy with empowerment can improve the quality of life of patients with CRF. The respondents of this study were 47 people for the intervention group and for the control group 47 respondents. This research is a quantitative research using a quasi-experimental method with a pre test - post test control group design approach. The statistical test results obtained p value 0,000, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the quality of life of the control group and the quality of life of the intervention group after the application of energy conservation techniques. Objective: to assess the effect of a breastfeeding educational intervention on the counseling provided to postpartum women. Method: this is a randomized controlled trial including 104 postpartum women (intervention group = 52 and control group = 52) from a private hospital, whose educational intervention was based on the pragmatic theory and on the use of a soft-hard technology called Breastfeeding Educational Kit (Kit Educativo para Aleitamento Materno, KEAM). Women were followed-up for up to 60 days after childbirth. Chi-Squared Test, Fischer’s Exact Test, and Generalized Estimating Equation were used, with a significance level of 5% (p-value <0.05). The analyses were performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 24. Results: the postpartum women in the intervention group had fewer breastfeeding difficulties and a higher percentage of exclusive breastfeeding at all time points compared with those in the control group. Conclusion: the educational intervention based on active methodologies and stimulating instructional resources was effective in developing greater practical mastery among postpartum women with regard to adherence and maintenance of exclusive breastfeeding. ObjectiveTo determine the effects of 2 weeks of intensive robot-assisted gait training (RAGT) on pusher behavior compared to nonrobotic physiotherapy (nR-PT).MethodsIn a single-blind, randomized, controlled trial with 2 parallel arms, we compared 2 weeks of daily RAGT (intervention group) with the same amount of nR-PT (control group). Patients with subacute stroke who had pusher behavior according to the Scale for Contraversive Pushing (SCP) were included. The primary research questions were whether changes in pusher behavior would differ between groups post intervention, and at a follow-up 2 weeks afterward (SCP and Burke Lateropulsion Scale, Class II evidence). Secondary outcomes included the Performance-Oriented Mobility Assessment, the Functional Ambulation Classification, and the Subjective Visual Vertical.ResultsThirty-eight patients were randomized. Thereof, 30 patients received the allocated intervention and were included in the analyses. RAGT led to a larger reduction of pusher behavior than nR-PT at post test (SCP: U = 69.00, r = −0.33, p = 0.037; Burke Lateropulsion Scale: U = 47.500, r = −0.50, p = 0.003) and at follow-up (SCP: U = 54.00, r = −0.44, p = 0.008). Pusher behavior had ceased in 6 of 15 participants in the intervention group and 1 of 15 participants in the control group at post test. At follow-up, 9 of 15 and 5 of 15 participants, respectively, no longer exhibited the behavior.ConclusionsTwo weeks of RAGT seems to persistently reduce pusher behavior, possibly by recalibrating the disturbed inner reference of verticality. The potential benefits of RAGT on pusher behavior and verticality perception require further investigation.Trial registrationGerman Clinical Trials Register (registration number: DRKS00003444).Classification of evidenceThis study provides Class II evidence that RAGT is beneficial to reduce pusher behavior in patients with stroke.

BackgroundIncorrect use of child restraints is a long-standing problem that increases the risk of injury in crashes. We used user-centred design to develop prototype child restraint instructional materials. The objective of this study was to evaluate these materials in terms of comprehension and errors in the use of child restraints. The relationship between comprehension and errors in use was also explored.MethodsWe used a parallel-group randomised controlled trial in a laboratory setting. The intervention group (n=22) were provided with prototype materials and the control group (n=22) with existing instructional materials for the same restraint. Participants installed the restraint in a vehicle buck, secured an appropriately sized mannequin in the restraint and underwent a comprehension test. Our primary outcome was overall correct use, and our secondary outcomes were (1) comprehension score and (2) percent errors in the installation trial.ResultsThere was 27% more overall correct use (p=0.042) and a higher mean comprehension score in the intervention group (mean 17, 95% CI 16 to 18) compared with the control group (mean 12, 95% CI 10 to 14, p<0.001). The mean error percentage in the control group was 23% (95% CI 16% to 31%) compared with 14% in the intervention group (95% CI 8% to 20%, p=0.056). For every one point increase in comprehension, there was an almost 2% (95% CI −2.7% to −1.0%) reduction in errors (y=45.5–1.87x, p value for slope <0.001).ConclusionsConsumer-driven design of informational materials can increase the correct use of child restraints. Targeting improved comprehension of informational materials may be an effective mechanism for reducing child restraint misuse.

Aim. The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a computer-based, dietary, and physical activity self-management program for people recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.Methods. The computer-based program was developed in conjunction with the target group and evaluated in a 12-week randomised controlled trial (RCT). Participants were randomised to the intervention (computer-program) or control group (usual care). Primary outcomes were diabetes knowledge and goal setting (ADKnowl questionnaire, Diabetes Obstacles Questionnaire (DOQ)) measured at baseline and week 12. User feedback on the program was obtained via a questionnaire and focus groups.Results. Seventy participants completed the 12-week RCT (32 intervention, 38 control, mean age 59 (SD) years). After completion there was a significant between-group difference in the “knowledge and beliefs scale” of the DOQ. Two-thirds of the intervention group rated the program as either good or very good, 92% would recommend the program to others, and 96% agreed that the information within the program was clear and easy to understand.Conclusions. The computer-program resulted in a small but statistically significant improvement in diet-related knowledge and user satisfaction was high. With some further development, this computer-based educational tool may be a useful adjunct to diabetes self-management. This trial is registered with clinicaltrials.gov NCT numberNCT00877851.
