Abstract: In the last ten years, the Brazilian government has made efforts to build an economic policy that promotes growth and has lead the country to be amongst the world's largest economies. However, such goals highlight the capitalist model of production and consumption while aggravating environmental conflicts faced in recent decades. In the first decade of the 2000s, in an attempt to reconcile economic growth and environmental sustainability, Brazilian universities began implementing training courses in environmental management with the purpose of forming a new class of managers to take the role of decision makers in management processes. With 200 higher education courses in Environmental Management, 10 Bachelor degree programs and 190 technical courses, Brazil stands as an example for the design of such programs. This study presents the process of building a methodology for the evaluation of educational projects of these Environmental Management Bachelor degree programs based on qualitative content analysis using social context, professional profiles and student assessment. Such methodology will be developed as part of a later study which aims to define the profile of Brazilian Bachelor degree programs in Environmental Management and point out ways to build curriculum guidelines. Keywords: Qualitative Analysis; Environment; Higher Education; Management.

Influenced by constantly changing demographic, social, and political forces, the internationalization of higher education has been a movement that has shifted purposes and directions over the last 40 years. As more and more students take advantage of educational experiences that transcend country borders, and as these educational experiences become more varied, the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs becomes more complex. In some settings, newly developed structures, such as dual-degree or joint-degree programs, have been established as one way to organize and provide structure to such educational programs. The purpose of this chapter is to use the results of a study of a sample of collaborative dual-degree programs in Europe to provide guidance for the management of transnational higher education initiatives.

Education for sustainable development (ESD) enjoys a huge momentum worldwide in which the role of teachers for making sustainable development goals a reality has been recognized significantly. Teachers through their knowledge, attitudes and skills can bring the learning about these concepts to the curriculum and class room interaction and are in a position to influence their students. Therefore it is pertinent, that teachers are sensitised towards these issues, so that they prepare and nurture their students for making appropriate and responsible choices which contribute to a sustainable future. At this juncture it becomes crucial to understand their priorities and awareness level in context of the sustainable development. The present research paper aims to analyse the perception of forty post graduate pre-service teachers of the Chandigarh region, towards ESD through the dimensions of economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, social sustainability and cultural sustainability. For this researchers have adopted qualitative content analysis methodology for an in-depth study of the subjective responses through an open ended question. The findings suggest that most of the respondents associated the perception of ESD strongly with environmental sustainability. It is noted that the pre-service teachers lack a holistic approach towards ESD. On the basis of the findings it is recommended that there is an urgent need of integrating the concept of ESD consciously and conscientiously in India’s teacher education programmes.
