The objectives of research were to evaluate the effect bakasang-supplemented commercial diet on nile tilapia growth and to find the optimum dosage of bakasang to be supplemented in feed. The research was conducted at Laboratory of Nutrition and Fish Feed Technology.  Fish weighing 0,9-1,7 g were palced in 15 aquaria at a density of 10 individuals/aquarium. Experimental design was complete randomized design with five treatments namely A (0% bakasang), B (2% bakasang), C (3% bakasang), D (4% bakasang), E (5% bakasang), each with three replications. Fish were fed three times a day as much as 5%/body weight. Growth of fish was observed every week. Research results showed that the lowest absolute growth, relative growth and feed efficiency  were observed in treated with 0% bakasang (êG=20.44 g; GR=148.08%; dan NEP=58.06%) while the highest was obtained in fish treated with 4% bakasang (êG=35,55 g; GR=262.17%; NEP=80.53%).  Analysis of variance displayed the use of bakasang significantly affect absolute growth, relative growth. It was concluded that feed supplemented with 4% bakasang gave better absolute growth, relative growth and feed efficiency as compared to other feed.   Keywords: growth, “bakasang”, absolute growth, relative growth, feed efficiency,  nile tilapia

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of different compositions of kedondong laut leaf flour in feed formulations on absolute growth, daily growth, relative growth, feed efficiency, food conversion ratio. The test animals used were Nile tilapia with a size of 3-5cm in length and weigh between 1.3 - 2 g.  Fish were stocked in nets measuring 50x50x50 cm3 with a density of 10 fish each.  Fish were obtained from the Tatelu Aquaculture Fisheries Center, Dimembe District, North Minasaha Regency. The study was conducted by an experimental method using a complete randomized design (CRD).  The treatments consisted of A without addition of kedondong laut leaves flour, Treatment B with addition of 10% kedondong laut leaf flour, Treatment C with addition of 20% kedondong laut leaf flour, Treatment D with addition of 30% kedondong laut leaf flour. The results of the experiment showed that treatment B was the best where absolute growth (23%), relative growth (287.3%), daily growth (3.93%), feeding efficiency (95.83 %) and food conversion ratio (1,044). Water quality during the experiment was in a reasonable range where the water temperature during experiment was 26oC, pH 7-8

This study aimed to determine the effect of papaya flour at different doses on absolute  growth, daily growth, relative growth, feed efficiency, and food conversion. The treatments consisted of 0,  2.5%, 7.5%, 10% of papaya flour respectively, each with three replcations. The weight of fish were  about 18-23.58 g.  The fish were placed in aquaria with a density of  10 individual per aquarium. The experiment design is a complete randomized design. The results of analysis show that the treatments had no significant effect on growth, daily growth, relative growth, feed  efficient, and food conversion ratio. However, treatment C (7.5% papaya flour) gave the best on growth of fish, feed efficiency and food conversion ratio.

The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of supplementation of banana skin (Musa paradisiaca) in feed formulation on absolute growth, relative growth, daily growth and feed efficiency of nile tilapia.  The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Sam Ratulangi University. The research used Complete Randomized Design with five treatments inluded A: without supplementation banana skin powder, B: 40%, C: 30%, D: 20% and E: 10% of banana skin powder. Each treatment  had three replications.  The result showed the best response was observed in treatment D  with absolute growth o43.11 g, relative growth 88.9%, daily growth 10.17%,  and feed efficiency 3.20%. This research intended to study the growth of nile tilapia and commercial food conversion.  The research was conducted at Laboratory of Nutrition and Fish Feed Technology, Faculty of Fisheries Sam Ratulangi University Manado.  Fish feed used were Comfeed (Treatment A), Bintang (Treatment B) dan Lokal Food  (Treatment C).  Feeding dosage was 5% per body weight per day and feeding frequency was three times a day.  The research used complete randomized design with three treatments each with three replications. Research results showed that treatment A had absolute growth 257,67 g, , relative growth 160,37% and food conversion ratio 1,81 while treatment B had absolute growth 240,67 g, relative growth 152,05% and FCR 2.36,   and treatment C 235,00 g absolute growth, relative growth 147,04% and FCR 2.41.  Statistic analysis found  abosolute growth of fish in treatment A different significantly compared to treatment B and C.   Treatment A and B had similar effect but different significantly compared to treatment C.  It could be concluded that the use of comfeed was better to increase fish growth and FCR as compared to treatment B and C.   Keywords: growth, nile tilapia, food conversion ratio, commercial feed

The objectives of this research was to determine the effect of feeding with different compositions of meal banana skin to the relative growth, absolute growth, feed efficiency and the best value for tilapia fish. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Technology Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Sam Ratulangi University. The fish samples used in the study was tilapia fish with a length of 3-5 cm with an average weight of 0.8-1 g.  Feed used as treatments contanined different banana skin powder including treatment A:10%, B 20%,  C 30%,  D 40%, and E 50% banana skin powder. Fish was cultured in an aquarium equipped with a recirculation system. The parameters observed included absolute growth, relative growth and feed efficiency value. The experimental design used was complete randomized design (CRD) with five treatments, each with three replications. The results showed that feeding with feed containing 20%banana skin powder gave the highest absolute growth value of 2.93. Feeding with 10% banana skin powder gave the highest relative growth (363%) the highest feed efficiency value is 46.6%. The purpose of this study was to determine the concentration of the use of the best fermented coconut pulp in feed on the growth of tilapia.  The research  used 12  nets  measuring 1x1 m placed in a concrete pond measuring 3.5 x 5 cm. The treatments were A (without fermented coconut pulp), B (10% fermented coconut pulp), C (20% fermented coconut pulp), and D (30% fermented coconut pulp). The experimental method used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. Data collected were absolute growth, daily growth, relative growth, and feed efficiency. The results of the variance analysis showed an influence in the growth of tilapia size 5-8 cm. The best growth and feed efficiency value occurred in treatment D Thus  the use of  30% fermented coconut pulp in fish food could improve the growth of tilapia.Key words : fermented coconut pulp, tilapia, growth feed efficiency

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) has economic value due to high consumer demand, relatively affordable price, favorable taste and high tolerance to the environment. Constraints faced by farmers is the high feed prices because raw materials such as fish meal is still imported. So need to find alternative raw materials such as golden snail flour which has a cheap price. The purpose of this study is to analyze the proportion of the right golden snail flour in the fish feed so as to provide maximum growth rate for the seeds of tilapia gift. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replications. The parameters observed were growth rate and feed efficiency. The experimental results showed that the C treatment (0.19 g/day) was the highest growth rate and the highest feed efficiency in treatment C was 88.03%. Kendala yang dihadapi petani adalah harga pakan yang tinggi karena bahan baku seperti tepung ikan masih di impor. Maka perlu mencari bahan baku alternatif seperti tepung keong mas yang memiliki harga yang murah.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis proporsi tepung keong mas yang tepat dalam pakan ikan sehingga mampu memberikan laju pertumbuhan yang maksimal bagi benih ikan nila gift. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah laju pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan C (0,19 g/hari) merupakan laju pertumbuhan yang tertinggi dan efesiensi pakan tertinggi pada perlakuan C yaitu 88,03 %. Kata Kunci: ikan nila, tepung keong mas, laju pertumbuhan, dan efisiensi pakan

Liquid waste produced by tofu and tapioca industry was approximately 1,5-2 m3 and 4-6 m3 per day respectively. Tapioca liquid waste has concentration of carbon around 119,11 mg/l, while tofu liquid waste has around 133,03 mg/l of nitrogen in concentration. Therefore both of these waste have the potential to be used as biofloc that utilized as additional feed with high protein content for nile tilapia. The aim of this research was to know interaction between C/N ratio and place of biofloc production to the growth of nile tilapia. This research used completely randomized design based on factorial experiment which consisted of two level of each factor and three repetition. Level of C/N ratio were 15 and 20 whereas level of place of biofloc production were inside and outside fish culture container. The result of this research showed that interaction between place of biofloc production and C/N ratio affected the growth of nile tilapia. The treatment inside biofloc production with 20 C/N ratio gave provided the highest absolute growth (3,26 g) and daily growth rate (0,082 g per day).

This research was purposed is to find the optimum current for growth and growth of Bonylip Barb fingerlings (Osteochilus hasselti C.V). Method used in this research is compelitely Randomized Design (CRD), consists of three treatments and four replications. The treatments are : A (without current or (control), B (with 0.1 ms-1 water current) and C. (0.1 ms-1 water current cabined with venture aeration). Bonylip Barb of 4 – 6 cm size are kept as many as 15 fish / x Liters and the amount of feed given is adjusted to the feeding rate (FR) of 10 % of Bonylip Barb biomass carried out every three times a day and adjusted for growth every ten days. Water quality during maintenance (40 days) was observed once every 10  days while survival, absolute weight growth, daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency were observed every ten days. After 40 days of maintenance,  the best result showed 0.1 ms-1, with 100% survival rate , 6.09 g absolute growth, 3.13% specific growth rate , 3.48% feed conversion ratio was , and  30.04%. feed efficiency.

Abstark. Penelitian ini telah dilakukakan di Station Riset II Ie Seum, UPT. University Farm, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Aceh Besar. Penelitian berlangsung selama 90 hari, mulai tanggal 22 Mei sampai 14 Agustus 2016. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk memanfaatkan limbah feses sapi sebagai pakan alternatif pengganti pakan pelet pabrikan, mengurangi produksi pakan yang tinggi dalam budidaya ikan Nila, dan dalam hal ini memacu pertambahan berat badan ikan Nila. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan terdiri dari 4 ulangan. Perlakuan pemberian subsitusi dari pakan komersial dengan pakan pelet organik sebanyak 0, 10, 20 dan 30%. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi pakan, efisiensi pakan, konversi pakan, kelansungan hidup, pH dan suhu air. Pemberian subtitusi pakan komersial dengan pakan pelet organik berpengaruh sangat nyata (P0,01) terhadap semua parameter yang diamati, yaitu berat badan, pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi ransum, efisiensi ransum, dan konversi ransum. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa subtitusi pakan komersial dengan pakan pelet organik 10-20% dapat digunakan untuk memacu laju pertumbuhan ikan Nila hitam.  Effect of Feeding Cow Waste and Probiotics Feed Manufacturing Natural Materials as for Added Weight of Black Nile Tilapia Fish (Oreochromis Niloticus)Abstract. Research has been dane in Research Station II Ie Seum, UPT. University Farm, Syiah Kuala University, Aceh Besar. The was conducted for 90 days, starting on May 22 until August 14, 2016. The purpose of this study was to use waste as feed for cow dung cost and promote the growth and production of Nile Tilapia. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and each replication. The treatment was subtitution of commercial diets with organic pellt feed (OPF) with the level of 0, 10, 20, and 30%, respeetively. The parameters observed were final weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, feed conversion, mortality/ life sustainability, pH and water temperature. Results study shwed that feeding organic pellet feed highly significant (P 0.01) affeted on all parameters, sach as final body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, feed efficiency, and the feed conversion. The results of the study concluded that feeding organic pellet feed with a percentage of 10-20% was betterfor the growth rate of Nile Tilapia
