The analysis of the effect of various physical therapy methods on tumor growth in the historical aspect and comparison with our own scientific results were carried out. The role of physical therapy methods such as galvanization (electrophoresis), light therapy (ultraviolet irradiation, lasers of different light wave spectra), alternating currents (UHF, microwave, inductothermia), mechanical vibrations (ultrasound, vibration), magnetic field, pulse currents (DDT, SMT), high voltage currents (darsonvalization), and thermal factors (mud and heat treatment) in stimulation of tumor growth was studied. The results of our own studies confirm the statement that the physiotherapeutic factors used do not stimulate tumor growth, and can have a beneficial influence on the improvement of the quality of life of cancer patients. Thus, there is a growing evidence that physiotherapy is a safe and effective adjunct to cancer treatment.

Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic and progressive inflammatory process resulting in the destruction of articular and periarticular tissues and leading to the development of functional impairment, permanent deformities and disability. RA affects approximately 1% of the global population and is more common in women than men. Aim: To assess the effects of physical therapy in RA patients. Material and Methods: The study assessed 21 patients with stage III/IV RA. They were managed with physical therapy, including thermotherapy, electrotherapy, laser therapy, magnetic field therapy and light therapy. The data collected in the study were statistically analysed. Results: After treatment, all study patients showed pain reduction, improved well-being, reduced duration of morning joint stiffness, improved ranges of motion in the joints and a better quality of life. Conclusions: 1. Rheumatoid arthritis is a difficult clinical and social problem. 2. The physical therapy used in the study reduced the pain experienced by the patients and the duration of morning joint stiffness and improved the ranges of motion and quality of life. 3. Physical therapy and rehabilitation constitute the main method of treatment of this disorder.

Abstract Purpose: The main purpose of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of multidisciplinary physiotherapy approach on depression, anxiety, stress and quality of life during lockdown periods for the COVID-19 pandemic attack. Method: The patient was 56 years female complaining with restlessness and sleep disturbances at night in an outpatient department, Jalandhar Physiotherapy, India. She was a known case of hypertension and grade-2 bilateral knee osteoarthritis. Her level of depression, anxiety and stress was evaluated through DASS-21 (Depression Anxiety Stress Scale) questionnaire. Short Form of health related questionnaire (SF-36) was used for the assessment of quality of life. Emotional liberation breathing technique and multimodal physical therapy approaches were used to treat the patient for 2 weeks of periods 3 sessions per week. Results: After four weeks of follow up the patient was presented with significant improvement in all the parameters depression, anxiety, stress and quality of life (physical functioning, role of limitation-physical health, role of limitation-emotional health, energy, emotional wellbeing, Body pain and general health). These outcomes were reduced the use of analgesics and sedative drugs. Conclusion: Therefore, the outcomes of this case study concluded that multidimensional therapeutic approach is a beneficial approach to manage depression, anxiety, quality of life, and sleep quality.

Background: Physical therapy encompasses the skilled treatment and care for patients across the life span through a multitude of different practice settings. This includes caring for individuals within end-of-life or palliative care settings. The goal of treatment in this stage of care is to relieve physical, social, psychological, and spiritual suffering in order to improve overall quality of life in patients with terminal illnesses. There has been limited research conducted to investigate the utilization of physical therapy interventions in palliative care settings. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to contribute to the current research involving physical therapy and end-of-life care in terms of its efficacy, value, and how this value is perceived by patients and their caregivers. Methods: This was completed by independently screening and reviewing the studies that were published between the years 1994 and 2014 and related to this topic. The databases and journals searched included CINAHL, PUBMED, MEDLINE, Cochrane, PEDro, the Journal of Palliative Care, the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Google Scholar. Results: Thirteen qualitative articles were selected which met all inclusion criteria and discussed the role of physical therapy intervention in the palliative care setting. Methodological quality of articles were assessed using the QASP, scale and their findings were summarized and presented in table format. Conclusion: These articles support the utilization of physical therapy in palliative care settings and emphasizes the impact of physical therapy on improving patients’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.

The purpose of this study was to demonstrate in an applied and practical manner the efficiency of the respiratory physical therapy methods and methodologies on the patient diagnosed with asthma and its advantages in the adequate physical therapy treatment. Furthermore, the theoretical update of this topic through a more recent specialization literature brings forward a major benefit of treating asthma. The objectives of the paper: increasing the respiratory volumes with the help of specific physical therapy, reeducating correct breathing, invigorating the respiratory muscularity, educating the patient in terms of ideal positions before the crisis, resisting to effort. Summing up all these objectives and relating them to the patient’s life, the main objective of this study was to highlight the improvement brought in the quality of the patient’s life. By implementing physical therapy.

This article introduces Cognitive Health Counseling 40+ (CH.CO40+), an individualized intervention that is conceptually based on the orchestration model of quality-of-life management ( Martin & Kliegel, 2010 ) and aims at improving satisfaction with cognitive health in adults aged 40 years and older. We describe the theoretically deduced characteristics of CH.CO40+, its target group, its multifactorial nature, its individualization, the application of subjective and objective measures, the role of participants as agents of change, and the rationale for choosing participants’ satisfaction with their cognitive health as main outcome variable. A pilot phase with 15 middle-aged and six older adults suggests that CH.CO40+ attracts, and may be particularly suitable for, subjective memory complainers. Implications of the pilot data for the further development of the intervention are discussed.
