The purpose of this research is to synthetize, characterize and thermal degradation of new heterolytic derivates with potential biological properties. The derivates synthesis was done by obtaining new molecules with pyralozone structure which combine two pharmacophore entities: the amidosulfonyl-R1,R2 phenoxyacetil with the 3,5-dimethyl pyrazole which can have potential biological properties. The synthesis stages of the new products are presented as well as the elemental analysis data and IR, 1H-NMR spectral measurements made for elucidating the chemical structures and thermostability study which makes evident the temperature range proper for their use and storage. The obtained results were indicative of a good correlation of the structure with the thermal stability as estimated by means of the initial degradation temperatures as well as with the degradation mechanism by means of the TG-FTIR analysis.

The sulfonamidic moiety is much encountered in structures of bioactive compounds. In the present paper the studies on the sulfonamidated aryloxyalkylcarboxylic acids are extended by their attaching on certain substrata able to confer some special biological properties to the final products, such as anti-tumor and antioxidant actions useful in treating inflammatory processes, ulcer, convulsions and diabetes, as well as a herbicidal action. The stepwise syntheses of the sulfonamidated aryloxyalkylcarboxylic acid derivatives and their characterization by elemental analysis data and IR, 1H-NMR and UV-Vis spectral measurements are described. The newly obtained compounds could show potential pharmaceutical and herbicide properties.

Preparation, ligational and biological properties of some pyrazinedicarboxaimide derived furanyl, thienyl and pyrrolyl compounds with Co(ll), Cu(ll), Ni(ll) and Zn(ll) metals are described. Magnetic moments, electronic, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra and elemental analysis data indicate that co-ordination of the ligands with the metal ions take place through the pyrazine ring nitrogen, azomethine nitrogen and heteroatom of heterocyclic ring system. The compounds are all novel and are proposed to possess an octahedral geometry for Co(ll) and Ni(ll), and a distorted octahedral geometry for Cu(ll) and Zn(ll) complexes. The comparative biological properties of the title ligands and their metal chelates against different bacterial species are also described.

Background: Thermal degradation has attracted the attention of scientific community throughout the world due to its multiple applications in environment, energy, waste water treatment, pollution control, green chemistry, etc. Objective: The present work deals with the study of synthesis and characterization of thermal and biological properties of novel copper complex. Methods: Chemical structures of copper (II) sesame 2-amino-6-ethoxy benzothiazole complex were confirmed by IR, NMR, and ESR techniques. Thermal and biological properties were analysed by Thermogravimetry (TGA) and antimicrobial activity determination against Staphylococcus aureus. Results: The TGA study reveals that copper (II) sesame 2-amino-6-ethoxy benzothiazole complex undergoes stepwise thermal degradation of ligand-soap bond of complex and unsaturated and saturated fatty acid components of edible oils. The complex exhibit significant antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus. Conclusion: This study provides relevant basic information on the thermal and antimicrobial properties of new copper (II) bio-based surfactants, as well as an explicit relationship structure-biological activity for their potential use as safe and green chemicals.

This paper characterises the directions of innovative activities undertaken by food industry enterprises concerning the manufacturing of food products. Based on the subject literature and secondary statistical data, the status of food industry innovativeness and areas of innovative activities related to implementation of technological and non-technological innovations are presented. The activities of enterprises focus on manufacturing new products in response to the ever-changing needs and expectations of consumers. In particular, the production of so-called functional food (which seeks to promote health, minimise the risk of specific diseases, improve psychophysical fitness, lose weight, etc.) is increasingly extensive. Manufacturers must also improve the technologies and techniques of product manufacturing, packaging and storage.

The synthesis of a novel series of 1,3,5-trisubstitiuted pyrazoline was achieved by refluxing chalcone derivative with different heteroaryl hydrazines. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13CNMR, mass spectral and elemental analysis data. The synthetic series of novel pyrazoline hybrids was screened for in vitro schizont maturation assay against chloroquine sensitive 3D7 strain of Plasmodium falciparum. Most of the compounds showed promising in vitro antimalarial activity against CQ sensitive strain. The preliminary structure-activity relationship study showed that quinoline substituted analog at position N-1 showed maximum activity followed by benzothiazole substitution, while phenyl substitution lowers the antimalarial activity. The observed activity was persistent by the docking study on P. falciparum cystein protease falcipain-2. The pharmacokinetic properties were also studied using ADME prediction.

Biomedical engineering seeks to enhance the quality of life by developing advanced materials and technologies. Chitosan-based biomaterials have attracted significant attention because of having unique chemical structures with desired biocompatibility and biodegradability, which play different roles in membranes, sponges and scaffolds, along with promising biological properties such as biocompatibility, biodegradability and non-toxicity. Therefore, chitosan derivatives have been widely used in a vast variety of uses, chiefly pharmaceuticals and biomedical engineering. It is attempted here to draw a comprehensive overview of chitosan emerging applications in medicine, tissue engineering, drug delivery, gene therapy, cancer therapy, ophthalmology, dentistry, bio-imaging, bio-sensing and diagnosis. The use of Stem Cells (SCs) has given an interesting feature to the use of chitosan so that regenerative medicine and therapeutic methods have benefited from chitosan-based platforms. Plenty of the most recent discussions with stimulating ideas in this field are covered that could hopefully serve as hints for more developed works in biomedical engineering.

This paper reports the effect of lignocellulosic flour and talc powder on the thermal degradation behavior of poly (lactic acid) (PLA) by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Lignocellulosic flour was obtained by grinding Opuntia Ficus Indica cladodes. PLA/talc/ Opuntia Ficus Indica flour (OFI-F) biocomposites were prepared by melt processing and characterized using Wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The thermal degradation of neat PLA and its biocomposites can be identified quantitatively by solid-state kinetics models. Thermal degradation results on biocomposites compared to neat PLA show that talc particles at 10 wt % into the PLA matrix have a minor impact on the thermal stability of biocomposites. Loading OFI-F and Talc/OFI-F mixture into the PLA matrix results in a decrease in the maximum degradation temperature, which means that the biocomposites have lower thermal stability. The activation energies (Ea) calculated by the Flynn Wall Ozawa (FWO) and Kissinger Akahira Sunose (KAS) model-free approaches and by model-fitting (Kissinger method and Coats-Redfern method) are in good agreement with one another. In addition, in this work, the degradation mechanism of biocomposites is proposed using Coats-Redfern and Criado methods.
