The 21st century is an essential time for changes in the society. Development of technologies, globalisation and the fading of national boundaries all contribute to a change of the educational paradigm. The changes also affect the Latvian education system as the implementation of the project “Competency approach in learning content” is in progress. The implementation of the new learning content has began on September 1 of the academic year 2020/2021. To determine the Primary school teachers’ (Grades 1-3) readiness for putting the changes into practice, a survey was conducted. The survey data analysis shows that the teachers admit that changes are necessary; meanwhile they believe that the implementation of changes is chaotic. Likewise, teachers are not insecure about the new learning content that is added to the curriculum. Teachers discuss problems such as information fragmentation, lack of technologies and learning materials, insufficient amount of lessons intended for a particular content as well as its influence on qualitative preparation of lessons.

bachelor program of "Psycho-pedagogical Education" (Primary School Teacher) training direction in a network of university and school. There is need to change the psychological training in internship of future primary school teachers. Changes in the content, forms and methods of work with intern student have regulatory grounds. New requirements for the development of the bachelor professional competencies determine the need for university and school networking. We established cooperation areas between the supervisor, university teacher and intern student and described reflexive reports on the results of students’ internship at school. We have identified the main difficulties of applying activity-related technologies by intern bachelor students and provide expert evaluations of student’s professional and personal characteristics, as well as student professional activities in dynamics during the academic year.

Neoliberalism is a pervasive phenomenon. A fundamental neoliberal concept allows for the selection of the best and most suitable option available for a specific course of action in any aspect of society. Not unexpectedly, the educational field, including physical education (PE), has been influenced by neoliberal ideas. A key element of neoliberalism in PE is the selection of workers external to the school system, as a suitable option to improve the educational experience. The involvement of external workers increases the diversity of stakeholders in the school system, who, with their actions and decisions, have the potential to influence the content and status of PE in schools. The purpose of this study was to understand the external provision infrastructure supporting PE in an Irish primary school. Specifically, we used network ethnography to understand the structure and the impact of external provision on school PE. Participants included two primary school teachers, the school PE coordinator and one PE external provider. Data analysis resulted in two themes. The first theme refers to the structure of the external provider system, and the second to the dynamics of the network between the main stakeholders. Taken together, a well-established external provision network in the school is revealed but the structure of the network, as designed, is not supporting PE as intended by the Irish educational system.

For four years of studying the subject “physical education” at the university, students of the faculty for the training of primary school teachers study the history, theory, teaching methods of their chosen sport, master the technique of special and basic exercises, acquire the skills, knowledge, and skills necessary for independent organizational, training and pedagogical, educational and research work in a chosen sport. Focusing students on named achievements, a teacher should educate students about the desire to study the theoretical foundations of the specialty not only in textbooks but also in additional materials. The preparation of credit standards should be preceded by significant preparatory work during the semester and the entire academic year, aimed at improving the corresponding motor skills and improving the level of physical fitness of students. The content of the practice also includes the formation by students of skills in compiling training plans in a chosen sport, work plans-schedules of the sports section or departments of the youth sports school, and other documentation. These skills are formed in the process of independently performing the tasks of a teacher in compiling educational documentation for this sport. In advance, students listen to relevant lecture material, study special methodological literature and sample documents on planning, accounting, and reporting.

The research for teachers’ conceptions of the outside educational materials, that they discover and use, is very limited. In addition, there is also particularly limited research comparing teachers’ conceptions of the use of educational materials on the basis of the subject they teach. The present paper aims at investigating and comparing primary school teachers’ conceptions of the use of outside educational materials in mathematics and science teaching. For the purposes of this research, an electronic questionnaire was developed and completed by 212 primary school teachers in Greece. Data analysis traced primary school teachers’ conceptions of whether they use outside educational materials and, if they do, how frequently and in what way they use them, what motivates the teachers to discover outside educational materials and where they discover them, as well as the reasons why they might not use outside educational materials. Furthermore, the differences among teachers’ conceptions of the above issues were detected on the basis of the subject they teach (mathematics, science).

The paper examined the objectives of primary education in Nigeria as stated in the National Policy on Education. These objectives are seen to be achievable only through the instrumentally of the teachers who are the primary implementers of the curriculum. Furthermore, who a teacher is was also critically examined. In addition, the paper advanced some inevitable qualities of a 21st century teacher, without which the teacher will become a misfit in the classroom. These include having a sound knowledge (mastery) of the his/her subject-matter, being properly trained to teach, openness to innovation, being an in-co-parentis, resourcefulness and being computerate. The importance of the application or integration of technologies in the 21st century was also indicated. The climax of the content of the paper was the challenges facing primary school teachers, especially those in the rural areas. The challenges facing Primary School teachers as advanced include ignorance, technophobia, incomputeracy among others. Finally, recommendations on how to confront these challenges were advanced. Some of which are that teachers should wake up to the challenges of the 21st century by making sure that they get trained, the government should also make provision for teachers to get trained and be retrained, teachers should be given certain incentives to encourage them among others

The aim of this study was to explore the primary school teachers’ empathy levels according to their demographic characteristics. The universe of the study was composed of 591 primary school teachers serving in Zeytinburnu District of Istanbul Province in the 2018-2019 Academic Year and the sample was composed of 190 primary school teachers serving in the randomly selected schools. Demographic Information Form and the Emphatic Skill Scale -B Form that was developed by Dökmen (1988) were used as data collection tools. Frequency, descriptive statistics, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis Variance Analysis were used to analyze the data.In conclusion, significant differences were found between empathy levels of the teachers and the age variable at the level of 0.05 and the term of office variable at the level of 0.01. Other variables in the study, which are the type of faculty, income level, and housing type, did not show any significant differences at the level of 0.05.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the readiness of future primary school teachers for trilingual teaching with CLIL technology. Qualitative research method was used in the study. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers was used to collect the data. 160 teacher candidates studying at various universities in Kazakhstan in the 2020-2021 academic year participated in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that the primary school teacher candidates' readiness for trilingual instruction with CLIL technology was insufficient. Research findings revealed the necessity of reorganizing the learning curricula in higher education programs in order for primary school teacher candidates to gain competence in the field of trilingual education with CLIL technology. Keywords: Content and Language Integrated Learning, CLIL technology, trilingual education, teacher competencies, teacher opinions
