The paper aims to clarify the relationship between Information technology governance initiatives on effective information technology governance (ITG) and organizational performance. A quantitative study through a questionnaire survey has done for this research. Data was obtained from seven states in Malaysia, within the manufacturing sector. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used in this study to analyze the measurement and structural models simultaneously to test the role effect of ITG between information technology governance initiatives and organizational performance. The paper provides empirical insights about the relations between information technology governance initiative and the efficacy of ITG and organizational performance. The results and findings of the research can have beneficial to supporting manufacturing organizations in their efforts towards carrying out improvement activities.

Information technology governance (ITG) is recognized as a vital organizational ability to exploit opportunities for innovation and enhance organizational performance. However, the potential of ITG for public sector innovation and performance has not been fully grasped in Pakistani public sector organizations (PakPSOs). This study has presented an explanatory model to investigate the mediating effect of innovation in the relationship between ITG and organizational performance in PakPSOs. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM)–based hierarchical component modeling approach has applied to analyze the model by taking sample data from 97 PakPSOs. The results revealed that ITG positively affected innovation and organizational performance. Innovation positively affected organizational performance. Innovation partially mediated the relationship between ITG and organizational performance. The study corroborates the strategic use of information technology (IT) to enhance innovation and organizational performance in this context. The study contributes to the existing knowledge base through a new theoretical model and promotes academic rigor. The results are also significant for the practice as they can help to achieve organizational performance in terms of operational efficiency, transparency in costs and results, planning and decision making, performance monitoring and control, and collaboration and synergy. The other countries operating in a similar environment can also take the benefit of this study.

Past studies and surveys of top management in business and information technology (IT) have shown the importance of strong IT governance in delivering results to the business. This research investigates the extent to which empirical results from past studies is applicable to the electronics manufacturing sector in Malaysia. Empirical evidence from 33 organisations in this sector indicates that having the right decision owners making appropriate decision types lead to better IT governance performance. Organisations with growth as their primary goal demonstrate marginally higher IT governance performance, contrary to expected outcomes. The research also shows that awareness of industry IT governance frameworks is not related to IT governance performance. We conclude that adoption of IT governance is on track, though familiarity with technicalities of the available frameworks should be improved.

The study examines how the supply chain management (SCM) practices impact customer responsiveness, and the same has been tested empirically with the help of a conceptual framework based on a literature review. Previous studies on the relationship between supply chain variables and competitive advantage have been presented earlier with variables including customer satisfaction, quality and flexibility. Still, there is a shortage of literature on customer responsiveness. This study attempts to conduct a structured study well supported by the existing literature to establish the mentioned linkage. The study sample includes 433 employees from 10 Indian automobile and aerospace manufacturing organizations, and the responses have been analysed with structural equation modelling (SEM) and bivariate regression. The study establishes the linkage between SCM practices and customer responsiveness. The results infer that supply chain practices are antecedents to customer responsiveness. The study has also scrutinized the specific items of SCM practices construct that highly influences customer responsiveness. This study also highlights and identifies the research on the linkage between SCM practices and customer responsiveness in the Indian context. For practitioners, this study offers advice for effective policymaking to have more excellent customer responsiveness by concentrating on the specific elements of each SCM practice.

Recently, information technology governance has become a critical issue for many companies in various industries; this is even more important for enterprises due to the more complex business processes, more specified tasks and departments. Many companies suffer from extra costs of IT and other processes due to failure inefficient alignment between IT and business strategies which in turn, leads to low performance of the company. To overcome this problem, organizations need to have an effective ITG to make IT resources management more valuable, less substitute, rarer, and less imitable. To do so, firms need to use IT governance initiatives factors (Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems) to increase their effectiveness and organizational performance. Thus, this paper is aimed to establish a framework, testing the role of Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems on effective information technology governance (ITG) and organizational performance in the manufacturing companies; which should help managers to better understand how Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems and effective ITG, impacts on organizational performance. 357 data were obtained from managers in the Malaysian manufacturing industry. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used in this study to analyze the measurement and structural models simultaneously to test the role effect of ITG between information technology governance initiative factors (Involvement of Senior Management in IT and Corporate Communication Systems) and organizational performance. Limitations, implications, and suggestions for future studies were discussed.
