A modular and portable maintenance assistance system was developed for four small and medium-sized process manufacturers in the research project CPPSProcessAssist. Along with the technological development of the system, a procedure for designing and implementing the system in the companies was developed. Shift workers and managers, project engineers, maintenance engineers and technology developers were involved in designing the system and implementing the ensuing changes in their companies. The resulting system technically maps cross-company requirements for maintenance work in process manufacturing and can be modified for existing IT infrastructures. The selected procedure for involving employees in the system design helped integrating specific company and user requirements in the system and enabling employees to enter content in the assistance system based on their needs.

A KCC-1/Al–SO3H catalyst with Si/Al = 5 was prepared to directly catalyse the synthesis of ethyl levulinate from cellulose in an ethanol/toluene co-solvent system. A reaction yield of 28.8 mol% was achieved after 6 h at 200 °C.

Mahindra Firstchoice illustrates the process of ecosystem orchestration in the context of the second-hand car market in India. It describes how Mahindra Firstchoice mapped the ecosystem in relation to six key parties—consumers who were buyers, consumers who were sellers, car manufacturers, independent used-car dealers, independent car service workshops, and banks. It then identified the bottlenecks and ‘pain points’ that afflicted the six parties. The used-car market did not function properly because of lack of trust, information, and transparency and Mahindra Firstchoice worked with the parties to identify solutions to the market failures. These involved, amongst other things, the creation of third-party car inspection services, the establishment of a multi-brand car-dealer franchise, a warranty system, a bluebook of second-hand prices and transactions, and a car diagnosis and repair system.

The book contains a theory of knowledge, self-trust, autonomy, and consciousness. It takes an explanatory system, a theory, to solve philosophical problems, whatever the risk of error. The theory is a coherence theory of knowledge, a defensibility theory of knowledge. The defensibility is an internal capacity supplied by an evaluation system to defend the target claim. Defense or justification that is sustained by truth in the background system is defensible knowledge. Exemplar representation of conscious experience, exemplarization, connects the system with truth by making experience self-representational. The truth-maker and the representation of it are one. The exemplarized experiences also become exhibits of what it is like to experience external entities radiating to represent them. In this way, the accepted premises of our experience, our exemplar representations, become part of the justification and defense of target knowledge claims within our evaluation system.

An Eco-industrial Park (EIP) is an industrial park developed according to the theory of industrial ecology, which can significantly reduce industrial pollution and improve regional or local sustainability. On the account of the requirements on energy and material flows connection, the construction and development of EIPs are contingent for effective environmental plannings. China initiated the construction of EIPs during foundation of the previous economic and technological development or high-tech districts in 2001, by classifying EIPs into 3 categories: Integrated Eco-Industrial Park, Sector Eco-Industrial Park and Venous Industry based on Eco-Industrial Park. In each category, EIP contributes significantly to the regional and local economy as well as regional and sustainable development. The environmental planning for EIP is guided by three independent standards and by the HJT 409-2007 guides for the establishment of EIP Planning, which makes regulations on the principles, methods, contents and detailed requirements of the EIP planning. The purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of EIP planning in China. This article reviews the theory and practice of EIPs in China and summarizes Chinas environmental planning (EP) system. A case of EIP is presented for qualitative analysis and for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the EIP planning. The results of the evaluation on both the achievements and the processes of plannings goals, from the perspective of environmental carrying capacity (ECC), reveal the challenges of EIP planning in China. Then recommendations are provided on how to improve Chinas EP system for EIP to achieve the desired results.

Facing the thight business competition era, the manufacturing companies have to development their industrial system preformances to the high productivity level. This paper explain three manufacturing system indicator; amount of standart output in a periode of time, product cycle time, and the amount of work in process (unfinish) product. Those three indicators will be viewed as a result of tools and production machine resources allocation in each work station. The Discrete system simulation was used to represent the real system that is examined. This method can give a details information about the characteristic of each system variables when try to make an experiment to improve the system performances without bothering and interrupt the real system it self. This situation will exactly reduce the unpredictable risk when implement the development strategy in the real system.
