This chapter analyzes the relationship between the modern education system and business performance in a theoretical manner. Business organizations who invest in the modern education system in order to educate (knowledge development) and train (skilling and re-skilling) their workforce should know that there is a positive relationship between the modern education system and business performance. It is encouraging news for the business organizations who invest enough efforts on human capital development programs. For the readers to understand the term of positive relationship between the modern education system and business performance, it simply refers to the recognition that an increase in investment on the modern education system by a company will improve its (the company's) business performance. Therefore, institutions of higher education including business schools should invest more in technology-based education systems in order to provide education and training programs to their corporate clients.

The positive of impact of market orientation toward business performance of a company is a common wisdom in the marketing literatures. Hence the prior studies recommend that the connection will depend on other strategic actions. In this regards, this study tries to assess the construct of business ethics as the precedent of market orientation in the context of Indonesia Islamic banks. Upon assessing data using SmartPLS, this study finds that market orientation is the determinant of business performance and Islamic business ethics is the precedent of market orientation. However, market orientation is not effective as the mediator in the relationship between Islamic business ethics and business performance. The discussion of this finding is provided as well as the managerial implication at the end of this paper.

This article presents the Tetrahedron of Innovation Processes model that aims to diagnose, through the understanding and analysis of the three vertices, areas that need improvements in training to generate a change in knowledge. The present research is intended to show the managers of a company in the energy sector the relationship between training and development programs and how their application can help the organization to design an organizational context orienting human behavior towards activities of learning and innovation. The model can be used to understand the relationship between capacity and internal resources on the influence of employee skills in information processing, creativity, and critical thinking by encouraging employee behavior, guiding a flow of knowledge to the company. Given the context, the model was able to ponder and classify the main aspects that must be improved for the development of human capital in the company studied and can help to find significant solutions for the necessary improvements to occur. With this, the article brings a paradigm shift in training and learning that will aid in the development of human knowledge.

We provide an overview of modern Western literature devoted to the problem of psychological violence and its various manifestations in the education system, particularly at school. We briefly characterize the approaches to the problem of violence, describe the results of several studies demonstrating the relationship of the psychological climate at school and academic performance, the probability of applying for support to teachers and peers, give the specific facts of influence of sex, age and other socio- psychological characteristics, extending and specifying the notion of phenomenology of psychological violence. We show the role of cultural values and school microclimat as fundamental factors of violence prevention. Our recommendations are aimed at the prevention and reduction of violence in the modern education system (in particular, bullying and cyberbullying).

Аннотация: В статье медиакомпетентность рассматривается как способ создания толерантной среды. Данная статья показывает значение и роль медиаобразования в системе образования. Автор рассматривает медиаобразование как инструмент становления культуры общения, коммуникативной способности и толерантного сознания. В статье дается попытка детализации отношений медиапространства на становление адекватного видения различных жанров медиатекста, способствующее формированию культуры толерантности личности. В работе рассматривается процесс овладения медиакультурой, что даст возможность выработке навыкам психологической культуры. В работе указано, выработка умения общения с медиаинформацией с целью влияния на формирования прежде, толерантного видения реальности, определяющая совершенный уровень культуры межличностного отношения, способствует развитию медиакомпетентности, что является приоритетным качеством в профессиональной деятельности педагога. Автор указывает на то, что толерантное отношение личности к информациям различных жанров, выступает как качественно своеобразная установка на воспитание толерантного поведения молодежи. When a company tries to find a business performance formula that can become a new solution in order to maintain its survival, then it depends on how its ability to manage its assets. So this study aims to examine the relationship of three main components of Intellectual Capital and Business Performance from Bontis at al: Human Capital, Structural Capital, Relational Capital. Hypothesis testing is conducted on the positive relationship between Human Capital and Business Performance, the positive relationship between Structural Capital and Business Performance, the positive relationship between Relational Capital and Business Performance, and the positive relationship between Intellectual Capital (IC) and Business Performance. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire developed from IC sub-factors based on the Intellectal Capital Classification Scheme from Moon and Kym, given directly to respondents or managers / business owners with a sample of 30 companies, then the data collected was analyzed using the IBM 20.0 SPSS program. Positive inter-variable influences have been found accompanied by rejected hopothesis.

Based on a survey of 147 Chinese employees, we examined the relationship between perceived career plateau and turnover intention, and the moderating role of career anchor in challenge in this process. We hypothesized that perceived career plateau would be positively related to turnover intention, and that this relationship would be stronger in employees with a higher level of career anchor in challenge than in those with a lower level. The results showed that perceived career plateau had a strong positive relationship with turnover intention, especially in employees with a high level of career anchor in challenge. These findings have implications for research in career development and turnover intention, as well as in management practices.

Purpose This study aims to examine the relationship between renqing and purchase intentions and the mechanism of its impact in the Chinese business-to-business (B2B) context. Design/methodology/approach Renqing in China has played an important role in business relationships and has been receiving increased attention in both practice and theory. However, little is known about whether it can influence purchase intentions in a rational B2B condition. This research aims to examine the relationship between renqing and purchase intentions and the mechanism of its impact in the Chinese B2B context. Based on a survey of 1,010 industry buyers from 468 Chinese downstream buyer companies, the empirical findings indicate a positive relationship between renqing and purchase intentions and the mediating role of long-term orientation (LTO) for increasing purchase intentions. In addition, this study also finds that product involvement (PI) has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between renqing and purchase intentions, which means that renqing has a big positive effect on purchase intentions in low PI conditions. The results highlight several implications for B2B companies that sell products to Chinese enterprises. Findings The empirical findings indicate a positive relationship between renqing and purchase intentions and the mediating role of LTO for increasing purchase intentions. In addition, this study also finds that PI has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between renqing and purchase intentions, which means that renqing has a big positive effect on purchase intentions in low PI conditions. Originality/value First of all, by answering the research question, this study shows that renqing has a positive effect on purchase intentions in Chinese B2B context. Second, this study elucidates the influence mechanism of renqing on purchase intention and identifies the mediating effect of LTO and the moderating effect of PI.

This work firstly aims to develop a sustainability model based on Ibn Haldun’s teaching of sustainability. Religious coloring refers to the spirituality, which is re-discovered in modern ages and transferred to the workplace. Spirituality stimulates virtuousness at personal and organizational level, which in turn generates managerial sustainability meaning the lifespan of a company. While personal virtuousness refers social ethics, organizational level virtuousness could be considered as Corporate Social Responsibility. Secondly, it attempts to evaluate the relevance of Ibn Haldun’s approach to contemporary business organizations. In order to demonstrate the relationship between spirituality, virtuousness, CSR, and sustainability; data collected from Corporate Knights’ Global 100 companies were analyzed using structural equation modelling. According to the results, while workplace spirituality leads to ethical conduct and higher CSR/CS score, the relationship between spirituality or CSR/CS and financial performance is not significant. However, it seems that higher lifespan of business enterprises is related to their CSR/CS score.

This research contributes to the fields of knowledge management, transformational leadership, as well as information technology. This article presents the theoretical underpinnings of the framework together with a thorough review of the literature. This research indicates that there is a positive relationship between transformational leadership, knowledge management, and firm performance. The synthesis of the literature also lends support for the mediating role of information technology in the relationship between transformational leadership and knowledge management.
